    Xu Kitay was hungry. And it's become a problem.

  What once was fulfilling now leaves her mouth agape wanting more. Mr. Han's teachings aren't up to par enough to sate her ambitious hunger any longer. Her teeth ache for something bigger to clamp down on, and her palate itches to taste something better. It becomes abundantly clear she won't sate by continuing training Kung-Fu under Han's surveillance.

Mr. Han was a good man, but he's been feeding her kung-fu since she was 7 with scratched knees and wobbly legs. Maybe she's grown out of it. Dre Parker grew out of it, but he always stuck around when Han opened his Kung-Fu school. But that's the thing; Xu Kitay is no Dre Parker, she loves him and Mr. Han, but branching out is always a good thing. She doesn't want to stick around forever. She isn't leaving them forever, anyways. At least, she thinks not.

  So, down the rabbit hole she goes. Left out the north and right up to the south; Wu Jiayi can sate her hunger, even if only for spring extending to a summer. Kitay chews and swallows karate like hungry wolf, though, the taste of kung-fu never entirely washes out of her mouth. Jiayi never minds, it makes her Kitay the more of a powerful team asset, a champion.  She eats trophies for dinner, suddenly. She lets her teammates feed her everything, even if she can't digest.  But yet, it doesn't taste as delectable as she wants, it's all a bunch of nothing. There's an itch in her throat that she still can't scratch. She's hungry for a thrill, both her past teachers had put her in thrilling scenarios, like Mr. Han molding her into a winner like he had done with Dre back in 2010, or Jiayi leading Kitay to having the entire continent at her feet.

But it's never the thrill she wants. Her stomach is rumbling, she's hungry for conflict, she needs to be sated again. She was always poised, collected, and coordinated when fighting. But maybe, she just wants to be relentless, unpredictable, and keep others guessing.

So, she's gone again. Her father wraps her into ribbons and they end up in California. Somewhere in the valley. It makes her kind of sad to leave her life behind, sure, she technically bailed on both Jiayi and Mr. Han, but the taste of their teachings wouldn't wash out of her mouth. Even if she wants to channel her violence, all their inner peace and maturity shit was still in her heart and her fists.

Starting anew, Kitay still finds that her stomach begs for more. Cobra Kai looks fine enough. The Valley sent promises of what Kitay was been starving for; a good fucking fight. It starts when Parker Lawrence shoves a tattered yellow flyer in her hands while she goes to a convenience store [In Parker's defense, she was like, reeling from a pot brownie.] It continues when Kitay shows up at their dojo, and it ends with Kitay using the way of the fist to go all the way to the top. Sure, all-valley champion doesn't sound nearly as exhilarating as continental champion of Asia, but Kitay figures that it's not about the end product, it's about the thrill of the process. Fights in public, petty arguments in parties, it all makes Kitay buzz with excitement.

  She concludes that's what she had wanted all along; being a petty teenager, making strange friends, and putting her fists up for no reason. Cobra Kai, the Valley, it gives her all that.  She loves the valley and the valley loves her back. She feeds off of the rush, but don't get her wrong, she's no bully. She remembers when Dre and Mr. Han shared stories of Chen, Dre's equivalent of Kyler Park, she didn't want to be that kind of person. She just wants to savor the fun, so when Hawk starts bitching at randoms, she pulls away. But when Miguel fights Kyler, she throws a punch or two, and that's just how it ends.

She's finally sated, completely. Or at least, she hopes so.

🗡️ okay, hello! so we're back here... welcome to babyteeth! which was originally a kwon fic taking place in s6 but alas... maybe the next one.

               🗡️ me connection the karate kid verses is of course, a product of the upcoming karate kid legends movie. I think them trying to connect everything is kind of like insane in such a fun way and i'm so seated.  many people don't like the 2010 remake but it's soo special to me. as for this story, kitay is just a girl, literally. all she wants is to be messy so, thank god her dad took her to drama central! martial arts ran in her family and mr han was kind of like, her dads best friend so that's that. and parker, i literally made her up on a whim because girl-dad johnny lawrence is a concept that will heal us all. there may be another book i make that's parker-centric, who knows ( i know, and it's like, totally happening.) and as for love interests, i think it's ultimately miguel to open up room for lesbian sam and *cough* parker so..... we will see how this goes.
