On with the story!

"Mitch, it's time to get up!"

Mitch hummed a bit, sitting up as Kevin's voice waked him up. He got out of bed, the his older sister Candace at his door. She smiled at him sweetly, laughing a bit.

"Good morning, Sleeping Bedhead," Candace remarked, giggling a bit. Mitch blushed, brushing his messy hair back. "Anyway, Kevin is driving you to school. Kellen and I have to stop by Grandma's to pick up some stuff. We'll be at school later."

Mitch nodded, picking up his whiteboard he used to communicate with people. He wished that he never had to use it, but it's better than nothing. He knows a little bit of sign language, but not enough to have a conversation. He just wants to talk.

"Will do," Candace promised, smiling at her younger brother. Mitch walked into her closet, making her laugh once more. "Don't stay in there too long. You already did that figuratively."

Mitch shook his head, smirking to himself. He came out over a year ago and it was the most frightening moment of his life. The Olusolas are very religious people and even though Mitch wasn't super religious, he still believed in God and feared that he was going to be punished for loving a man. Fortunately, the family accepted him and his bond with Kevin only got stronger. He thanked God for giving him the love he never knew he needed.

"MITCH, WE GOTTA GO!"

Mitch slipped on some leggings and a long shirt that was a couple inches above his knees. After kissing his cat Wyatt on the head and Candace on her forehead, Mitch came downstairs to see Kevin walking back and forth nervously. Kellen was watching the whole thing, shaking his head to see Mitch looking at their older brother worriedly. Kellen sighed loudly, stopping Kevin abruptly.

"The baby is here. Quit your nervous breakdown and go to school! Everything is okay. Now go to school before your cello freaks out like you do."

"Shut up," Kevin replied playfully, throwing an arm around Mitch's small shoulders. Mitch smiled, his head oh his older brother's shoulder. "Wearing your heeled shoes again?"

Mitch nodded, his black shoes with the white bottoms shiner than ever. The shoes made him an inch or so taller, maybe about 5'11" or 6'0". They made him taller than Avi, which wasn't a lot. Avi was an inch taller than him so Mitch loved it when he was taller than his older friend.

Hey, he's the youngest in his group of friends. Let him live.

"Bye, boys! I love you," the boys' mother called, looking over the stairs. Kevin and Mitch said/waved goodbye, walked out of the house to make it to their high school.

Martin High School.

"Oh my gosh, Mitch! You look sooo cute today!"

Mitch blushed as Kirstie ran over to him, squeezing his cheeks like a mother does to her children. He blushed heavily, passerby students laughing at him as Kirstie continued to baby him. He wrote on his whiteboard, showing Kirstie his words.

/Kirstie, you are two months older than me! There's not that much of an age difference!\

"So? You're still the baaabbby," Kirstie remarked playfully, kissing Mitch's cheek playfully. "Hi, Kevin! Alyssa's looking for you!"

"She is? Why?"

"I don't know. Something about a break up. Anywa-"

Kevin ran down the hallway, yelling for Alyssa. Kirstie looked back, shrugging her shoulders as Avi walked over, Sara by his side. Sara hugged Mitch tightly, happy to be with her best friend.

"Hi, Mitch! How are you today?"

Mitch held up one finger, writing down his response quickly. He showed it to the slightly older girl, making her giggle loudly.

/Swell until Disney Princess squeezed my cheeks and embarrassed me.:(\

"Kirstin Taylor," Sara replied shaking, shaking her head at the sophomore. Kirstie put her hands up in defense, making Sara roll her eyes as she looked back at Mitch. "I would be annoyed by that too, but Mitch? I would do the same. You have squeezable cheeks."

Mitch shook his head, only getting three nods in response. Mitch 'hmped', Avi's laugher making him smile as the bearded man wrapped an arm around his shoulders. Mitch looked over at him, nodding so he could speak.

"You have squeezable yet fashionable cheeks. Embrace it. Now, if you excuse me, Sara and I have studying to do."

"Is that what the cool kids do these days?" Kirstie asked playfully, winking at her friends. Avi blushed as Sara pushed her friend back, shaking her head as she smiled. "Just saying the truth! Use protection, folks. It's important."

"You need to use protection," Sara retorted , making her friends and boyfriend laugh. She smiled at Avi,  kissing his cheek lovingly before sighing to herself. "Let's go, babe. Newtown's test is next period."

"That's right. I got to wait until Scott co-"

As if he told the future, Scott kissed Mitch's forehead sweetly. Mitch smiled as Scott wrapped his arm around his small waist, being pulled into Scott's side. Scott smiled too, happy to be with his boyfriend.

"Hi, beautiful. How are yo-"

"PROTECTION!"

Kirstie threw some condoms at the couple, making them laugh and blush. Kirstie looked back at Sara, smiling brightly as Jeremy came over.

"I do use protection, thank you very much. Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go to class. Bye."

Kirstie walked over to her boyfriend as Scott picked up a condom, shaking his head as his looked at his friends.

"I don't know what scares me more; the fact that Kirstie has condoms with her or she throws them at every couple ever."

"PROTECTION!"

Mitch laughed, shaking his head.

He loves Kirstie and his friends.

Especially Scott.

"I got detention."

"Why?" Kevin asked, Alyssa by his side. Apparently, 'breaking up' meant her phone breaking up and that she had to get a new one. "What happened?"

"According to school rules, throwing condoms at 'non-expecting couples' is not allowed," Kirstie answered, shaking her head as she sat by Sara. "Just let me tell you those condoms could have saved those non-expecting couples turn into non-expecting parents."

"You got a point," Scott pointed out, Mitch's head on his shoulder. "Condoms are important."

"True."

"Yep."

/Truth.\

"Why are we even taking about condoms? Mitch and I are just freshmen," Sara spoke up, shaking her head as she looked over at Kirstie. "You worry me sometimes."

"That's what everyone says."

"I wonder why," Avi commented, shaking his head as he looked over at Alyssa. "Have you gotten your acceptance letter yet?"

"Nope. I'm getting it this week," Alyssa replied anxiously, shaking her head as she looked at her hands. "I wanted to go so bad, you know? It's my dream."

"It's my dream too," Kevin spoke up, kissing Alyssa's cheek. Alyssa smirks as Kirstie snuck her hand in her bag, making Kevin glare at her playfully. "Put that condom back or so help me."

"Okay, okay."

"You're funny, babe," Jeremy told his girlfriend, getting a giggle out of her. Mitch sighed happily, snuggling closer to Scott. "Mitch, how are you? You look tired."

Mitch signed, about to get his whiteboard out of his bag when Candace and Kellen walked over. Candace was crying while Kellen was seething in anger, Kevin standing up to hug his little sister close to him.

"What's wrong, guys? Is GMa okay?"

Candace nodded, looking over at Mitch before a new wave of tears rolled down her cheeks. She sobbed loudly, breaking Kirstie, Alyssa, and Sara's hearts. Mitch stood up, Scott coming up with him so they could walk over to Candace. Kellen looked over at Mitch, shaking his head as angry tears began to roll down his cheeks. Mitch caught sight of that, writing on his whiteboard an turning it over to his brother.

/What happened? Why is Candace crying?\

"Follow me," Kellen commanded to his brothers, the both of them sharing a look. "Scott, stay. Mitchell will tell you later."

Mitch's heart skipped a beat.

Kellen never called him Mitchell unless it was something serious. Kevin widened his eyes, knowing that his sibling were not playing around.

This was serious.

"We need to go. Now."

Mitch nodded, following his older siblings out of  the lunchroom. Whatever was going on is serious and it will most likely hurt someone in the process.

Kellen led his siblings into the janitors' closet and that's when he broke down in tears. Kevin walked over, hugging more of his siblings. Mitch was freaking out now, not knowing what was going on.

"What's wrong?!"

Kevin's voice was frantic.

Candace answered.

"Mitch's aunt wants to adopt him again."

Mitch's breathing halted.

His aunt.

His abusive aunt.

Muted him.

A/N: Well...there's the first cliffhanger.xD I'm hoping that this book will have as many chapters as the Different series did (40 chapters). There is going to be pure drama of course.;) Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
