Chapter 17
"Yay, this looks so pretty!" Jin squeaks and looks at the Christmas tree he dragged into Taehyung's living room, against Taehyung's protests.
But Taehyung's happy he let the elder drag that stupid Christmas tree into his unnaturally small living room where the star at the top hits the ceiling. Even so, it still looks nice and comfortable. Taehyung can't help but smile a little as Jin throws the last festoon on and steps back to look at the effort he made.
Taehyung is standing in the kitchen, decorating small cakes and biscuits the way they always make them for Christmas. There are only three days until Christmas and Taehyung has allowed himself to enjoy the time at least a little. The gift he bought for Jimin is on the table.
It makes Taehyung sad that he probably never will get to give it, but at least he feels comfortable wasting his money on something like that.
The small package is standing next to a picture of his son. He's smiling widely, an ice-cream in his hand. Taehyung smiles slightly, thinking about Jimin being in England, probably decorating a tree double the size of the one Taehyung's looking at.
"So Tae, what do you want for Christmas?" Jin asks. The elder always buys a gift for Taehyung, even though he knows he doesn't get anything in return.
"Hyung, how many times do I have to tell you? You don't need to buy me anything," the brunette smiles and places some cookies onto a plate.
"Well, you know I'm going to buy something, so if you don't want me to bring a whole orchestra to your backyard and sing about how much I love you, making sure the whole city can hear me, I would recommend you decide something for me to give you."
Taehyung giggles and shakes his head at his friend.
"Fine, buy me food then."
"Don't have to be told twice," the elder dramatically bows, but he shoots up quickly and runs to the window.
"Tae look! It's snowing!!!"
And it is indeed. Small beautiful snowflakes are starting to fall from the sky.
"It's going to be a white Christmas, Yay!" Jin jumps up in excitement and Taehyung smiles brightly. No matter how much he hates living right now, there's nothing better than Christmas. It can even bring a smile to the man living on the first floor.
What's his name... Ebenezer Scrooge?
"Omg, it's going to be wild tomorrow! We are going to make snowmen and angels I swear to god!"
"You're too excited Hyung."
"There's no such thing!" Jin says. Taehyung is glad Jin wants to spend Christmas with him, even though the elder has a loving family who holds Christmas every year.
This makes Taehyung look down at the cookies, thinking of a specific, annoying raven who will show up in three days. And Taehyung hates that small bit of himself that's excited.
He takes the plate and places it next to Jimin's picture, his fingers brushing gently against the frame.
He lifts it up and smiles, letting his thump clean the surface slightly.
Will you ever come home to me Jimin?
Taehyung places the picture back and walks over to Jin who's now busy making further decorations even though the tree is barely visible from hearts, Christmas baubles, and festoons.

"Good, because we will be going out for dinner with the head of the Min company," Jungkook's father states, happy that his son won't be home for Christmas. Then he won't feel bad for leaving his son alone again like all the other years.
"You aren't going to that boy, are you?" Mrs. Jeon asks from the side while she studies her nails. Jungkook scoffs, "actually mom, I am."
Mrs. Jeon looks over the edge of her glasses, observing her son for a moment.
"Right... don't get attached honey, you're too good for him," she adds and follows after Mr. Jeon out of the door, not letting Jungkook object.
The raven sighs. He wants to throw a tantrum at how fucking mean and annoying his parents are... and yet, he still wants them to be proud of him. But he knows that not even his parents can take away his liking for Taehyung.
He walks over to the papers lying on the kitchen counter. He slides a hand over his face in frustration, knowing that his parents will be an obstacle in the future. But right now, he just needs to get Taehyung to listen to him. To understand why he was with Yeji, the only reason being her parents.
