Chapter 16
Taehyung sighs as he sits with the pills in his hands. He wants to take the whole bottle and eat them all, but he only takes two to soothe the horrible headache that has chosen to bother him this afternoon.
Taehyung hasn't been to school. He just can't look at Jungkook right now. Or anyone else for that matter. He feels so small under their gazes, he feels so ugly and helpless. It's like every time he finally lets himself enjoy life just a little, it's ripped from him as if it was never there.
Just like Jungkook. For one second, Taehyung actually felt safe with him. Jungkook has always been an asshole, but when Taehyung thinks about it, the younger never really did anything. And that might have been the problem, but he still had some horrible thoughts about Jungkook, just because the raven is popular.
And maybe because popular/rich people always seem so careless about their fortune. But most just suffer from it... the pressure.
Taehyung sighs and closes his eyes, his forehead resting against his palm, keeping him from falling against the table.
The constant hits from Chanyeol and Lay hurt but he keeps telling himself he deserves it.
He misses Jimin. God, he misses him so much. It's like Taehyung can feel his heart bleed.
Is Jimin happy? Are they feeding him well? Did he get friends? Is it nice in England?
Is he speaking Korean? Or will he just forget he ever lived here?
"Jiminie-" the male mumbles, he feels his eyes sting and heart starting to beat rapidly.
His small panic attack is interrupted by a knock on the door. Taehyung looks up in confusion before using a second to dry his tears.
He walks to the door and opens it.
"Tae-"
And he closes it again.
"Taehyung please, let me explain..." the elder hears Jungkook's muffled voice through the door.
"You don't have to, I get it." Taehyung answers. He isn't mad anymore; he's just feeling sorry for the other. For having used Jungkook for so long, the younger must have been uncomfortable, having to pretend like he cared just so Taehyung wouldn't kill himself.
Or, that's how he feels. Jungkook knocks again, biting his lip. He hates this. He hates being away from the brunette, not being able to see him, hear him or touch him. Taehyung is truly someone you grow addicted to.
"Leave please..."
"Tae, let me come in. I brought food, I want you to eat something... Jin is worried like mad too..."
Taehyung sighs and leans his head against the door. He is feeling sick caused he hasn't eaten since the episode with Jungkook and Yeji... and that was four days ago. After a minute of considering and constant 'I'm sorries' and pleases from Jungkook, he opens the door.
"Just make the food and leave, I'm too tired for you to use me," he says flatly and walks to the bedroom.
"No? What?" but the elder is already gone. Jungkook feels his heart drop.
I'm sorry Taehyung, but what I did was worth it. is worth it. I promise.
That's the only thing giving Jungkook hope. He sighs and walks to the kitchen, taking out the groceries to make dinner. That's the least he can do.
Half an hour later, he places two plates on the sofa table with steaming hot food, smelling so good that a tired Taehyung comes from the bedroom. He yawns and sits down, not sparing Jungkook a glance. His eyes are only half lid and his hair is a total mess.
But it's not like he cares.
Jungkook gulps and sits down in front of the other, slowly poking to his own food without saying a word. Taehyung is fast, swallowing the food. Not just because he's hungry, but also because he wants to get Jungkook out of here.
He wants to be alone. For the first time ever, he craves being alone so he can lie on his bed and drown in his own tears.
"S-So... have you talked with Jimin?" Jungkook manages to say.
"They won't allow me. Since I was 'violent' against him," Taehyung sarcastically answers. He did everything he could to get in contact with Jimin, but it was of no use. His stupid father knows how to convince people... even the police. But they have no proof to put Taehyung in jail.
"O-Oh..." Jungkook awkwardly looks back at his plate, biting his lip. He has done that a lot lately.
They sit in silence, no one having the guts to speak up. Or, Taehyung is just tired.
"Can you leave? I want to sleep."
"Oh, right, yeah... can I ask something first though?" Jungkook asks. Taehyung looks him, his chin resting in his hand as he waits for the younger to speak up.
"Please, let's spend Christmas eve together." Taehyung's eyebrows rise, wondering why on earth Jungkook would suggest such a thing.
"Why?"
"C-Cause you're alone, and I don't want you to be alone... especially when it's Christmas..." Jungkook blushes, not only because he's stuttering so much, but also because he's basically confessing something.
"Do what you want," Taehyung comments before getting up, leaving the raven alone in the now dark living room.
_____
"No, he didn't, and I'll tell you why," Jungkook stands in front of the table, both hands on the surface as he leans as close to the officer's face.
"There's no way Taehyung been violent against his own son. Considering that no one ever had those suspicions before Taehyung's father said something, and Jimin showed no signs of being mentally unstable or in physical pain.
Mr. Kim is working illegal business that the police just chose to look past since it will be too much trouble and Mr. Kim and Taehyung don't have a relationship that will indicate, that Mr. Kim ever sees Jimin or Taehyung together. Therefore, he can't say anything about how Taehyung treats his son.
I can, on the other hand, confirm that Taehyung is a lovely and caring father that worked three jobs just to assure Jimin's future. I have another witness, Kim Seokjin, who has looked after Jimin and the boy has only said nice things about his father."
Jungkook takes a breath and steps back. These people know who's standing behind Jungkook, and how stupid it is to mess with the Jeon family. And what Jungkook is saying, it's totally obvious, but even the police are scared of Taehyung's father. But the Jeon family is scarier.
"So, I would fucking recommend you do something about this shit, so Taehyung doesn't have something on his criminal record that isn't true" the raven spits.
The officer hesitantly pushes his glasses back, gulping louder than intended.
"I will take it up with the court."
