Actual Baby Spider

This was requested by @megannotmeghan and i loved the idea!

Summary: where Peter, Tony and Bruce are trying to figure out time travel with Scott's help and Peter offers to try first.

"Scott's bringing his van for us to play with today, wanna join?" said Tony over the phone.

"Yeah, of course! That sounds so cool, Mr. Stark. What are we doing?" the spider said, while webbing two bad guys to a building's wall "Oh, and I'm taking this" he grabbed the the purse from the robber's hand.

"We've been trying to figure out the whole time travel thing for a while now, and I thing we've got it, so we're starting some trials. Bucky and I have a bet about wether Cap was more of an a-hole before or after the serum. And I've never lost a bet."

Peter laughed and waved at the cops that were on the street "I caught some criminals over here! Yeah, don't look at me like that, you stole a purse, you're a criminal." he smirked at the robbers behind his mask before crawling up the same wall to reach the rooftop of that building "So, basically, you invented time travel to win a bet?"

"Damn right I did"

"Okay, then count me in. You're gonna figure it out, you're Tony Stark, and I will be helping, so, even more chances of winning."

Tony laughed over the phone, warming Peter's heart a little.

"We're at the compound for the weekend, but be at your apartment in 20, I'll send Happy to pick you up and drive you here so that we can finish upgrading your web shooters before the others arrive." he said and hung up.

Peter didn't need to be told twice. He asked Karen to check for more crime going on, but since it was only 3PM on a Saturday, the bad guys were probably napping. The spider swung to back to his apartment and changed out of the suit, into his clothes.

"May," he said walking into his aunt's room, who was watching some romantic comedy in bed "I'm going to the compound, but I'll be back for dinner."

"Alright, sweetie. Be careful" she smiled as he placed a kiss on her forehead "Oh! And say hi to Happy for me, will you?"

Peter rolled his eyes as he heard Happy's car outside (enhanced hearing) "Sure."

And with that, he ran downstairs and jumped into the car, saying his and May's "hi", to which Happy nodded. The rest of the trip was based on Peter telling Happy about his day and him just nodding and making it look like he wasn't listening, but we all know he was.

Happy parked outside the compound and Peter got out of the car with a kick "bye". He didn't want to look too excited, but let's be honest, it's not every day that Tony Stark invites you to figure out time freaking travel. So he speed walked to Tony's lab with a happy smile on his face.

"Hey, Mr. Stark! Are you ready? 'Cause I'm so ready."

Tony looked up from his phone screen to the boy and sent him a smirk.

"We're starting with your web shooters, though."

Peter frowned.

"My web shooters are alright for now, we should get started on the other thing, it's waayy more important."

Tony knew he couldn't argue with the excited teenager, so he asked FRIDAY to show them what he had been working on. Peter read all of it while also hearing Tony explain it to him. They checked a few mistakes, and decided that they will continue with the blue prints until the rest arrived.

Natasha walked into the room wearing a shirt that Peter had given her for her birthday. It said "Spider #1", and she made sure to wear it every time Peter was around.

"Hey there, spider #2." she said resting a hand on his shoulder.

"Hi, Ms. Romanoff!" he turned around to give her a quick hug before going back to the blueprints.

Natasha looked at Tony with confusion, not content with the lack of attention she was receiving from the younger spider. Tony laughed silently at her, and whispered:—Time travel.

"Huh." she looked back at Peter "So, what are you doing?" asking as if she didn't know.

"We're about to crack time travel, Ms. Romanoff! I think we already did it." he answered excitedly, now turning all of his attention to her "Can you believe it? I never thought it would be possible, but we're actually there. Well, Mr. Stark and Dr. Banner did most of it, so all credits go to them, it's incredible!"

"That's really nice, Peter." she smiled fondly at him while he showed her the blueprints and explained them to her. She didn't dare to tell him that she had no idea of what he was talking about, but continued to listen until he was done "Where would you like to travel once you're done?" she asked with interest.

"Well, first of all, I want to see who wins Mr. Roger's bet. But according to what Bucky has told me, there's no chance Mr. Stark is winning."

"What?! Of course I'm winning! Have you met Steve? The reason why the whole Civil War thing happened? I'm kicking his ass." he huffed.

"Leeet's not bring that one up again." Nat said and then turned back to Peter "And second?"

"Uh, I'd like to visit my parents and my uncle Ben. I wouldn't let them see me, of course! Although, according to what Mr. Lang said, it wouldn't be a big deal, specially if they don't know it's me. I'd just like to see them, because I don't remember much about my parents, and there's a lot of things I didn't get to tell uncle Ben."

Suddenly, the air was a little awkward. But not a bad kind of awkward, more like a "i-don't-know-what-to-say-now" kind of awkward.

"We'll make sure you get to do that." Tony said with a side smile. Peter nodded at him and held the hand Nat was offering him.

"They'll be so proud of you." she said.

Before Peter could answer, FRIDAY spoke up:

"Boss, Tiny Dude has arrived."

"Thanks FRI, could you let Banner know we're meeting up at the lab downstairs? The big one."

"Of course, sir."

The three of them walked down to the lab, where Scott and Bruce already were.

"Who's ready to time travel?" asked Scott with a playful grin.

"I am!" Peter answered.

"Should we call the others? I'm sure they'd love to see this." Bruce suggested.

"FRIDAY will call them." Tony said "We should get started, who's going first?"

"Me!" said, of course, Peter.

"No, not you, someone else." Tony said, not even looking at him.

"Please, Mr. Stark." he begged "I can do it, pleeeaaaaseeeee.

"No, kid. We're not even sure if this is going to work, we're not having you go first, that would be just stupid."

Peter looked at the others for help, but they were avoiding his eyes.

"Fiiineee..."

Tony smiled, having won the conversation.

"Okay, I'm going first, since I'm the most experienced with whatever this is." Scott offered.

Everyone agreed, so Scott suited up and walked to the back of his van. The rest of the Avengers had already showed up and were sitting on the floor next to the machine Tony and Bruce had built to make the van work.

"Okay, we're doing it. Scott, let us know what's happening every step of the way." Bruce said, and Scott gave him a thumbs up.

Peter was almost shaking in his place. Time freaking travel!! He mentioned it before, but the simple thought of maybe being able to see his parents and his uncle Ben again, made his heart jump. It's not that he isn't happy with the ways things are right now, he couldn't ask for anything better, but he wishes he could kiss his mom's forehead the way he kissed May's before leaving somewhere. He wished he could introduce his dad and uncle Ben to Tony, they'd probably make fun of him together. And Natasha and his mom would make a great team, just like May and Pepper do.

"Three... Two... One... Now!" Banner counted and pressed the button.

The room lighted up, making everyone cover their eyes, but by the time it went back to normal, Scott was still there.

"What the fuck?"

"Language..."

"Do it again." said Tony, just incase, and Bruce pressed the button again, the light happened again, but everything stayed the same.

"I'm confused, nothing happened, I never left or anything." Scott said.

They looked at each other in confusion, not exactly sure of what had just happened.

"Oh my God." Bucky said, making all eyes fall on him.

"What is it?" Steve asked.

Their eyes followed Bucky's gaze, which was centered on where Peter had been sitting the entire time, only he was no longer there. I mean, not exactly.

"Oh, for fucks sake." Clint said.

And there he was, who they assumed was Peter, only a couple years younger. Well, a couple...

Baby Peter smiled at the people who were staring at him as if he found the situation hilarious. He seemed to be around two or three years old. Some drool was dripping down his chin, which made him look way cuter.

"WE TURNED PETER INTO A BABY!" Tony yelled.

Natasha was the first one to move, a little hesitant at first because she had only ever dealt with Clint's kids. But someone has to, so she kneeled in front of Peter who immediately made grabby hands towards her. She picked him up and put him on her hip.

"You better find a way to fix this ASAP."

Peter grabbed a strand of Natasha's hair and put it in his mouth. She furrowed her eyebrows at him, not being a big fan of toddlers, but knowing that was his baby spider.

"I think he's hungry." she said, but was ignored by the rest of the Avengers yelling crap at each other.

They were saying something about waiting for Peter to grow up, or something about calling Dr. Strange who never really answered any of their calls.

Natasha sighed at her team mates, knowing they either brought Peter back, or, well, brought Peter back. They just simply had to. Peter made a little noise, catching her attention and making her look at baby Peter, who was also looking at her, still with her hair in his mouth.

"You hungry, baby spider?" she asked.

"Mama..." he babbled with his eyes wide open, making her smile.

"That's right, I'm your mama spider, and you're my baby spider."

Peter seemed to find that very funny, so he laughed enthusiastically.

"Okay, we're gonna feed you some... bananas! You like those, huh? You do, don't you?"

Peter laughed even more, and Natasha took that as a yes. Leaving the team behind, she walked into the elevator while making funny noises at Peter until they reached the kitchen, where she peeled off a banana for the toddler and started to feed him little pieces. Peter accepted them very happily while also babbling to the mama spider as if he could hold an actual conversation with her.

"I adore your rambling when you're a teenager, but your rambling as a baby is even better." she mentioned.

Some of the banana Peter had in his mouth fell on Natasha's tank top, making her frown slightly. Peter laughed and tried to put the banana back into his mouth.

"Nope, we'll try some other banana, not the one that's in my breasts." she chuckled at the baby who was again distracted by her bright red hair.

Peter looked so happy and innocent, unlike the teenager who had been through too much. Natasha wished she could keep him this happy forever, eating bananas and talking about colors. She wished she could have given Peter the life he deserved.

"Mama mama mama..."

"Yes, baby?" she asked as Peter laid his head on her chest "You're sleepy, huh? You gotta drink some water first, you just ate."

Peter didn't respond, so she poured some water on a glass and tried to make him drink it. At first he didn't want to, but when Natasha drank some herself, he didn't want to be left out. So after drinking some water, Natasha walked to the living room and sat on the couch with Peter on her lap.

The baby looked at her intensely, to which she responder booping his nose and making him laugh again. So damn cute.

"You're so cute, baby. Should I just steal you while I still can?"

Peter replied by clapping his hands in front of her face with happy giggles. That was until Natasha held both of his hands on her own and blew a kiss to him and he tilted his head to the side like a puppy.

"I care about you, baby spider. You know that, don't you?"

Nat brought him closer, in an attempt to hug the kid without force. She then stared at him and he did the same with a smiley face and drool all over.

"You wanna take a nap until those dummies find a way to turn you into a teenage boy again? Do you?" Peter looked at her as if she was the person he loved the most in the world and nodded slowly, beginning to lay his head on her chest again.

Natasha sighed and held him tight. Of course he's a smart baby; he's Peter Parker.

She grabbed the blanket they always kept next to the couch and covered both of them with it. She then looked at Peter who was dozing off in her arms.
She obviously knew what she was getting into when she started her career. But she also really wishes she could have this with Peter, or with a kid of her own. Maybe one day, she will.

But looking back at her little spider, she knew she was like a mother to him, or at least a big motherly influence. And she loved him like a son, even if she didn't say it with words, she said it in the way she always tried to cook his favorite meals. She said it in the way she liked training with him and teaching him some of her own moves. She said it in the way she sometimes stayed with him in the lab, just to hear him talk about his day and what he was up to.

She loved Peter, she loved her baby spider.

"Well now, that's just way too cute. Are you sure you want them to bring the actual Peter back?"

Natasha looked at the elevator which Wanda was walking out of with a smirk on her face.

"Of course, I don't wanna change anyone's diapers."

Peter was almost asleep, and she felt bad for having to stand up with him in her arms, but she did anyways.

The three of them went back to the lab where everyone else was. Once they got there, the rest of the Avengers stared at Peter in awe.

"Can't we just keep him like this? He's so quiet and cute." Sam said.

"But then who would be Spider-Man though." Steve said.

"Okay, I think we've got this." Bruce began "Sit Peter in front of the van."

Natasha hesitated, but did what she was told, making sure that Peter was now awake enough to sit on his own.

"Three... Two... One... Now!" the button was pressed, the room lighted up, and Peter was no longer there.

"I think it worked. Bring him back now, please." Tony asked and Bruce complied.

Button, light, and boom, a teenager in his undies.

"Oh. My. God." Peter said "I can't believe that just happened.

"Thank God." Tony said, walking to the kid and hugging him.

"Where are your clothes?" asked Clint.

"Well, baby me did number one in my pants."

Tony pushed the boy away from him in the blink of an eye.

"Well, then I'm sure you'll love a shower." Steve said while also handing him his jacket, which was way too big for the kid.

Peter put it on and smiled awkwardly when Natasha caught his eyes.

"I hate time travel" he stated.

"We'll try this again tomorrow, without Peter in the room."

I really really really hoped you enjoyed this. I sure had fun writing it!
