i want to stay with you
One more month and Minjeong couldn't be more than patient. She eagerly waits for that specific day to come, getting her freedom from her 'narcissistic, my god I hate it' team director. Despite the annoyance, Minjeong still works hard to reach perfection. Her only main goal now is to beat her own record, prove how wrong that scumbag is and get a new team to join.
Which is surprisingly easy for a person like her.
"Minjeong, look!" Troy came to their company lounge with three envelopes in his hands. "All of this for you."
The girl just finished with her training about twenty minutes ago, now leaning — sitting on the lounge couch, in her polo shirt, just waiting for another ten minutes for her girlfriend to call her to pick her up from her practice session. "What's that?" she asked.
"Guess," the older man waved his brows playfully before he took a seat across the biker. "Offer letters, you fool! Hah!" he slammed them onto the coffee table in front of them. Excited, Minjeong's mouth fliched before she made them into a wide happy smile. "Great!"
She flipped each envelope happily, pulling the contents one by one. Gresini Racing, Monster Energy Yamaha, Castrol Honda. "Troy!" the girl shrieked happily as she shook the papers in her hands.
"What?"
"We can change team!" her smile is so wide, all left is sunshine. "We can change team, Troy!"
"I know we can, Minjeong," the older man chuckled, both hands on his knees. "Which one will you choose?"
Not answering his question, Minjeong keeps scanning each paper again and again between happy shrieks. "I can change team!""
"I know, kiddo. Now tell me, which team?"
"Oh my god, I can—"
A slam on the coffee table surprised the two before Troy started to speak in a bold, serious tone. "Minjeong. He is coming."
Clueless, Minjeong flashed him a confused frown. "He... who?" But it didn't take long after that before the papers in her hands were snatched harshly, crumpled into balls of paper, and thrown down on the floor before their team director stomped on them aggressively.
Minjeong jolted up from her seat. Her happiness now exchanged with the worst, panic rising in her blood. Her face starts to become red from how angry she is. "Hey! That is my letter!"
Minjeong shoots him angry glares but the man doesn't seem to care as he shouts between his actions. "You won't change team! I wouldn't allow you!"
"Stop!" Minjeong tried to push him away from stomping on her precious letters only to be swatted away, while Troy tried to pull him by the arm, but seems like their annoying director was more persistent than ever. "You won't change team, Minjeong!"
"You are abusing my rights!" Minjeong shouted back between her glares and stood up angrily with knuckles formed in her hands. "I did not like you!"
"I love you, Minjeong. I won't let you go!" his words send goosebumps through Minjeong skin. This old man is growing nuts! "In this whole world, I only love three things the most!"
Only then, the director stopped stomping on the poor, flattened crumbled paper balls. He lifted his face, staring into Minjeong's eyes sadly (ew...). "Tell me what's that."
Minjeong felt like puking as she rolled her eyes. Disgusting. "I love my parents, I love gummy bears, and I love my girlfriend. That's it!" her last word came out bolder in purpose. He seriously needs to stop rampaging like a ten-year-old kid, that is so unprofessional and immature of him. Between his almost crying expression and Minjeong's stronger features, the biker's phone starts to ring between their tension.
A phone call from Jimin 'love emoji — sparkling emoji — blue heart emoji — arrow to the heart emoji'.
Minjeong flashed her phone screen to the director on purpose. "See? The love of my life is calling me." She smirked once while her director answered none before she swiped the phone to answer. "Jimin, hi," and oh god, Minjeong swear to god she would annoy this annoying man in an instant.
"Minjeong, hi. I think you need to pick up your girlfriend now. She just finished practice, and she is really-really missing you right now," Jimin's words on the phone call were nothing other than sweet. "Would you pick her up for me?"
"Alright, baby. I'll get my ass on my bike right away!" Minjeong glared at her director with a smirk. The words 'baby' were spoken louder than the others, trying her best to annoy her director. Meanwhile, that one word succeeded in making the other girl on the line melt, her knees get weak. Send SOS!
"B-baby??" Jimin repeated. They've never given endearments to one another, and now Minjeong dropped the bomb out of nowhere. "Y-you called me... 'baby'?"
"Well, no one other than you could be my baby, am I right, Jimin?" Minjeong chuckled at her phone but quickly changed to a glare at her now pitiful-looking director. She sticks out her tongue, teasing the old man. Screw you!
Jimin on the other line is now totally helpless, literally on the floor, kneeling. Cardiac arrest — God, help her! — She is melting. Even Ningning's voice started to pick up between their phone call, offering the poor too in love girl help. "Jimin, are you alright? Why are you kneeling on the road?"
Nevertheless, the phone was still on Jimin's ear before Minjeong continued. "See you later, baby. I miss you so much too." She ends the phone call in a teasing tone, her attention goes back to her sad director (ew... really..."). "I need to go now, as you can see. My girlfriend needs me."
She took a few steps away, intent to leave her director behind for Troy to handle, but then she made a U-turn. "Oh, yeah, I forgot." She slowly knelt down, on her director's knees, just to pick up the flattened balled papers. Poor them. "I'll take back what is mine. You've made them dirty, geez..."
She stood up, unflattened and uncrumbled the papers back open. Poor papers. "I would still change team even if you insisted, sir." Her words were strong and clear, before the biker finally took her steps away from the lounge, with now crumpled papers in her hands.

The weather outside is so hot that Jimin had to tell her girlfriend earlier that she would wait for her inside the building. Minjeong instantly agreed, literally telling Jimin not to come out at all. She won't let her girlfriend sweat under the sun, getting that same fever the way Minjeong did a few days ago.
The girl just mindlessly scrolling her phone. Pictures of Minjeong in action; during her tournaments brought the girl into a wide, proud smile. Minjeong looks so hot in that white-red biker suit and gloves. Gosh, she loves her so much. "Jimin. What are you doing?" and one of her teammates was good enough to interrupt her moment.
He took his seat beside Jimin, but thankfully minding to leave a small gap between them since they are still not familiar with one another. Jimin is new to the national team members, that's why. "What are you looking at that you smiled that wide?"
Jimin flashed a small smile before she showed her phone screen to the boy. "You knew her?"
To her surprise, the boy's eyes grew wide. "You are a fan too?" he smiled so wide like she just uncovered one of his best buddies to talk about this. "Oh my god! I am a big fan of her!"
"Really?" Jimin's brows flinched in amusement.
"She is amazing, Jimin! Last year, she almost broke the world record for the Spain Tournament. Damn... She was that amazing!" his hands started to move aggressively as he told Jimin his stories.
Jimin still amused by his words, smiled so proudly. "Really?"
"Yeah!" he smiled excitedly before continuing his stories. Minjeong, this, Minjeong, that, she won this, blah blah, oh my God! Minjeong fell — "She fell??"
"Yeah! Back in Atlanta about a year and a half ago, she had an accident on her third lap. She ran just in time before her bike was on fire seconds later."
Oh my god. "That is dangerous!"
"Yes, she is and—"
"Jimin?" only that familiar voice succeed in stopping Jimin from hearing more about his story. Head swatted away from him, and all Jimin could see at her left was her girlfriend, peeking between the small creak of the door at her right. Only her head pops up between the door, "I'm here, baby—"
"Oh my god!" Jimin's head went back to her right, where her teammates were now in great chock; eyes wide open, mouth wide agape, covered with both hands. "It's Kim Minjeong! I am dreaming!"
Minjeong just blinked her eyes in confusion, her head still the only thing that popped out between the door. "I texted you but you are not replying, and... why is he—"
"Oh god, Kim Minjeong!" the boy practically ran towards the biker, startling the poor girl to death as he suddenly shoved his hand for a handshake. Jimin immediately follows right behind him, somehow in the 'protective girlfriend' mode. "My name is Jaemin! I am a big, big, biiiiiiiiiig fan!"
Jimin unconsciously made a barrier between Jaemin and her girlfriend, who still only had a head popped out between the door. "Jaemin, back up. You are scaring my girlfriend!"
"Your what??"
"My girlfriend, Jaemin. Now, take a few steps back!"
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaatt????????!!"
*****
Thankfully, the fan-meet ended up outside the building, with Jaemin still stomping her feet happily, biting his teeth like a happy kid, while Jimin on the other hand was still between the two, keeping her girlfriend safe just in case.
"Can I handshake your girlfriend now?"
"Who is he?"
Jimin sighed heavily, one hand still protectively keeping Minjeong away from him. "Minjeong, this is Jaemin, one of the national players here, and Jaemin, this is Minjeong, my girlfriend." Jimin ended his words before she leaned in closer to Minjeong's ears, "Just give him a handshake and we should run away. He kind of a 'yap a lot' person, you know..."
Minjeong just nodded her head, understanding the task. She then offered her hand, "Hi, Jaemin. Please take good care of my girl—" and Jaemin was too eager at this point, shaking Minjeong's hand aggressively. "Yes-yes! I understand! I won't even let anyone bully her when she is here! No worries!"
After that aggressive handshake, Jimin leans into Minjeong's ear once again. "Let's go?" she whispered and the biker just nodded her head in reply as Jimin shifted her attention to Jaemin once again. "So, we really need to go right now. See you next week, Jaemin."
Before the boy could say anything much longer, Jimin already pulling Minjeong away from the yapper who still jumping on his feet happily. "Let's go, we need to escape!"

The ride from the national hall practice venue to her shared apartment took them about fifteen minutes, and as soon as Minjeong put her bike stand down, Jimin's grip on the biker's waist just got tighter instead, leaving Minjeong in confusion. "Jimin? We are here?"
"Can I stay at your place tonight?"
Minjeong gulps at the request. "You want to stay at my place tonight?"
Jimin nodded her head without hesitation. Her hold on Minjeong's waist never loosened. "Yes."
"O-okay..." it is weird that Minjeong starts to grow nervous all of a sudden. Sure, Jimin came a few times to her apartment but never stayed for the night. "Are you sure?" she asked, putting her bike back up, ready to drive away.
"Yes. Ningning was staying at Aeri for the night, I just remembered. I don't want to be alone."
Well, there's nothing to argue about, she guessed. The bike drove once again towards Minjeong's apartment. It took them another fifteen to twenty minutes to finally arrive. The bike stand went down. Jimin got off the bike, followed by Minjeong. She helped Jimin with the helmet before Minjeong pulled off her own, and walla, they were now inside Minjeong's apartment.
"I know you've been here before, but you can use the shower inside my bedroom, and you can wear my clothes. You know where they are, right?"
Jimin nodded. "Yup. Definitely," she smiled before suddenly pecking the biker's cheek. "I'll be right back, fresh and all fragrance for you," the taller girl then rushed away towards Minjeong's bedroom with her racket bag in her hands, leaving Minjeong embarrassed in hue in the living room, smiling like a fool.
"Yeah, sure. All fresh and fragrance for me."
Only god knows how easily Jimin could make Minjeong smile.
