i'll give you a gift

They are true to their words since that day, with Jimin super busy with preliminary training, and Minjeong trying to prove to her team that she is so much worth it rather than being put on rest. Jimin would sometimes do her part-time gig at Aeri's cafe, and Minjeong would always make time to meet her girlfriend in between.

Every night routine somehow changed for them. As much as they would text one another and have a phone call before sleep, Minjeong would try her best to come to the taller girl's apartment before saying good night.

It kept going on like that for a week, and finally, the day Jimin anticipated the most was finally here. Jimin had informed her girlfriend the night before that the biker could come to watch her national preliminary match, which allows public entrance to give their support to the players.

Minjeong was so excited when Jimin told her the news.

"I'm so nervous, what should I do, Minjeong?" Jimin faked her cries as she sat on her bed, getting ready to wrap the night for her important day tomorrow. "I wish I could see you tomorrow before my match starts."

Hearing how genuine the nervous tone in Jimin's words, Minjeong offers. "Would you like me to meet you first tomorrow? I'll kiss you good luck before anything, I wish that could help," the biker chuckled in the phone, wrapping her body with the blanket on her own bed. "How's that?"

"Can you? You said you need to deliver something to your manager real quick. Will it be okay?" Jimin's voice trembled in between, whether she was excited for the offer, or she was afraid that she would be a hassle for her girlfriend. But thankfully, Minjeong beat the girl's negative thoughts real quick. "Anything for my girlfriend, you know?" she ends her word with a chuckle.

Only then could Jimin sigh in relief, a small smile flashed on her face. "I guess I'll see you in the morning. Good night, Minjeong."

Minjeong on the other line let out a soft chuckle, covering the blanket on her body even more. "Good night, Jimin."

As promised, Minjeong already waited for Jimin in front of the apartment that morning, leaning on her black superbike as she scrolled down her phone. It didn't take long for the taller girl to walk down the apartment and as soon as she saw the biker, she greeted her with a wide, bright, happy smile on her face that she couldn't fight herself from running towards the biker with arms wide open like a happy child. "Minjeong!"

Seeing how happy her girlfriend is, Minjeong automatically opens her arms, and soon after, she receives a strong body crash. Jimin quickly wrapped her hands around Minjeong's waist. "You are really here!" the girl squealed happily.

"I told you. Anything for you," Minjeong laughs with her tiny cute voice, hugging Jimin tighter inside her embrace.

But then, their sweet moments were interrupted when a third voice faking her coughs right behind the couple. "Ehem. Jimin, we need to go or we'll be late."

The voice startled Minjeong so badly that she immediately pulled away from the hug. Jimin wants to argue with the lack of warmth, but she turns her head towards her roommate, giving her a playful glare. "Shut up, Ning. You said Aeri was waiting for you at the court. Why don't you go first?"

The Chinese could only roll her eyes in return. "Fine-fine," she said, walking towards Jimin. She harshly snatched away the racket bag from the older girl's shoulder. "I'll go first, you lovebirds." As she was about to walk away, Ningning turned her attention back to the couple, specifically to Minjeong. "Nice to meet you, Miss Biker."

Only then did the Chinese walk away with a smile on her face, finally leaving Jimin and Minjeong alone in front of their apartment.

"Hurry up, you'll be late for the warm-ups, Jimin," Minjeong warns her as she stares into her girlfriend's eyes lovingly. Instead, Jimin ignores the warning, crashing her body tighter onto Minjeong. "You said you'll kiss me for good luck?"

Jimin's request just sends the biker into a cute laugh, "Oh, right. Here," she gives a peck on Jimin's lips. "That's a good morning kiss." She leans in again for another peck on the lips. "That's for you look so beautiful today kiss." Minjeong leaned in one more time, kissing Jimin on the lips, taking her time as Jimin followed the sync, moving her lips the same gentle amount as Minjeong did before they pulled away with a soft pop. "That is the good luck kiss."

They didn't pull away from the hug, staring into one another's eyes for a while. SHeepish smile and blushy cheeks on both of their face before Jimin spoke, "One more, please."

The biker could only laugh before she leaned in again one last time, kissing Jimin on the lips again. "There. Is that enough?"

"I think so," Jimin laughs as she planted her face between Minjeong's neck. "Don't be late. My turn is sharp at ten. I'll be extremely down if you weren't there."

"I'll be there, Jimin. I promise," Minjeong tightened their hug. "The errands would only take me about an hour. I'll be there, don't you worry."

With that final assurance, Jimin sighed heavily as she finally released herself. She then leaned in one last time just to give a quick peck on the biker's cheek. "See you later, Minjeong," her steps turned into a jog as she walked away, leaving Minjeong in front of the apartment with a smile on her face.

Minjeong just waved back, while her other hand made a cup shape in front of her mouth just for her to shout, "Don't be nervous, okay?"

After a short brief that morning, the team had their warm-ups together. Jimin paired up with Ningning, while Chaewon paired up with Chaeryoung. The clock slowly hits nine, wherein the first match would start soon. The music outside the backstage was so loud, as loud as the heart beating in each of their chests. All nervous about whatever would come for them.

Their coach slowly approaches them with a printed schedule in his hand. "Remember, team. Just do your best. I believe in each of your abilities," the man said as he put his hand out for the girl. One by one, they smiled at each other before putting their hands on their coach's hand.

"For KNSU," Chaewon the one who chanted for them all.

"For KNSU!"

Nine in the morning was Ningning's match for their rival from Hanyang University, Ryujin. On the other hand, the two Chaes are currently on their woman double rally from Kangwon National University with Yeji and Yuna. Jimin was sitting among the spectators, looking at her phone for the time.

"It's almost ten. My first match going to start soon..."

Her eyes wandered around, trying to catch any glimpse of her girlfriend. Of course, she knew, Minjeong wasn't there yet. Minjeong already told her she might be there at ten. Jimin didn't want to push her, and it would be just fine if she'll be a bit late.

Between her nervous thought, her coach came with a tap on Jimin's shoulder. "Jimin, get ready. The staff are calling you."

Jimin nods her head to the older man with a small smile standing up from her seat before she walks away towards the backstage of the court. She did some warm-ups just to make sure she wouldn't hurt herself while playing.

While doing that, a notification bell stopped her from stretching. Jimin double-tapped her phone screen to see the content of the text message she just received from Minjeong. She sighed once but quickly smiled in embarrassment right after.

Minjeong: Jimin, I am so sorry! I'll be late, but not for too long! I am so, so, so, so, sorry! I'll be quick! I love you!

Minjeong: Good luck on your first match of the day! I'll kiss you again if you win!

"Geez, you liar," Jimin rolled her eyes playfully before she typed back her reply. "She better be here before my second match."

Jimin: I'm demanding that kiss, and thank you. I'll do my best!

Jimin: Love you too <33

Thankfully, Jimin won the first set with twenty-one, sixteen. She's in the middle of her second set, trying to set her footing right onto the court, preparing to serve the shuttlecock to the player across the net. Her mind was racing with thoughts on how to place the shuttle just right. Her heart beats like crazy from the anxiety and the sport itself.

Sweat freely flowed down her forehead, eyes focusing onto her opponent real quick, ready to serve. But then, an intense hand waving from one of the spectators on the bleachers far behind the opponent player distracted Jimin.

It was Minjeong.

She is here, finally.

"Yu Jimin! You can do it!"

A smile formed on Jimin's flushed face, and when the umpire was about to warn Jimin because she delayed the serve longer than usual, Jimin immediately put her next move into action

With that sudden action, her opponent's stepping froze, too shocked to react to that sudden serve, giving Jimin an easy point closer to winning. "Service over. Eighteen, twelve."

"Yes! That's it! You can do it, Jimin!"

It was strange for Jimin. They got hundreds of spectators here, watching all six courts' gameplay. There were voices and shouts everywhere, but as if everyone's voice blurred in the background, Jimin could only hear Minjeong's.

"Get it on, Jimin!"

A smirk flashed onto Jimin's face.

Her next two points came from her powerful cross-court smash, making her into game points, twenty, fourteen. Both Jimin and her opponent are extremely tired at the moment. Sweats are obvious on both of their clothes and face. Face extremely flushed. Ragged breath and heart pounding heavily.

The umpire finally said "Play," and Jimin wasted no time to serve the shuttlecock once again. Let it be the final one for this match. Jimin just wanted to win, granting herself for the next round, specifically the final round that would be held in the evening. She couldn't wait for the prize Minjeong promised her to.

She just wanted to end this so badly.

Her opponent taps the shuttle softly, sending it merely above the net. Shit, this going to end badly. Well, that's what Jimin thought she would go through.

Legs wide open, scrambling to take that low shot in front of the net. Arms wide open, racket to the front, and Jimin tried to keep her composure, hitting the shuttlecock hard, sending them high to the air, backing it back almost to the baseline.

"She is going to smash that one. This is my chance!"

The ending actually wasn't as bad as Jimin thought it would be. As Jimin prepared herself for defence, the shuttlecock apparently got stuck on the net as soon as her opponent smashed them towards her side of the court. "Match won by Yu Jimin from KNSU, Twenty-one, fourteen."

And how happy Jimin was that the moment she heard that, she knelt down on the rubber court, sighing in relief. A small smile formed on her face as she heard Minjeong's voice shouting in the background, roaring out a loud yet cute "Yes!" among the crowd.

Jimin went back backstage, greeting Chaewon and Chaeryoung who just won their match against Yeji and Yuna. She then walks closer to Ningning, giving her a gentle, assurance hug and a soft tap on the Chinese back. "It's okay, Ning. I promise you can win against Shuhua in the evening. I'll get your revenge for Ryujin later."

The Chinese just nodded her head between their hug, "I'm fine, Jimin. Don't worry. We know how deadly Shin Ryujin is as a badminton player." Ningning let out a soft laugh and Jimin was beyond thankful that her roommate was okay with the loss. "Oh, yeah. I forgot to tell you, you got a guest behind you."

As soon as Ningning said that, Jimin turned her body over almost immediately and her heart swelled so good the moment she saw Minjeong with the brightest smile she ever had walking closer and closer towards her. "Hey, girlfriend. Come with me for a moment."

Oh, right. The gift.

Minjeong had pulled Jimin by the wrist, pulling her together from the team, and then away from the crowd, trying to find a more secluded area for both of them. Sadly, there was none. "Minjeong, where are we—"

Minjeong eyes bewildered from left to right, don't want to get caught with anyone. It's almost impossible to find a secluded space, and her only resort is when she randomly opens a door leading to the underneath space of the bleachers.

"Minjeong, what are you—" Jimin were hushed with Minjeong's palm on her mouth. The biker looked to her left and right, just to make sure that no one would look under the bleachers. When she was sure enough and the door finally closed shut, Minjeong finally placed both hands, cupping Jimin on her cheeks.

Her next words came out in whispers between the noisy crowds, "I promised you a gift for winning," and slowly but surely, the biker leaned in, closing the gap between them, lips locking onto Jimin's, moving them in a slow, burning kiss.

Jimin was deep into it, closing her eyes shut, letting Minjeong lead their lips locking.

At least, no one was there to disturb them.

It would be a horror movie if someone suddenly looked down.
