I don't know why I'm nervous. I've hung out with Changkyun by myself plenty of times before but this time it feels a bit different. I keep fixing my hair, having double thoughts about my outfit, making sure my perfume is immaculate..

Dear Lord I'm simping already!

Maya and Mingi plays with the two babies on the couch as I give them a schedule rundown. As expected they're not paying me any attention.

Mingi: Your mommy is a worry-wart, yes she is, yes she is.

I frown.

Maya: Trust me Jas we can handle it. You just focus on your task for tonight.
Mingi: Task?
Maya: Making Changkyun fall in love.
Me: Am not!

I adjust my leather jacket.

Me: We're just two co-parenting parents going to see a movie.
Mingi: Whatever you say

The knocks at the door almost makes me jump out of my skin. The two giggle at my anxiousness as I let Changkyun in. To my surprise he hands me a small cactus.

Me: What's this?
Changkyun: I remember you mumbling about not having a green thumb so I didn't get you flowers. Cactuses are low maintenance.

He's red in the face proving he's just as scared as me.

Me: Thank you.

It's a cute little chunky one, I sit it in the middle of the kitchen counter and smile. It doesn't look that bad actually! I love cute decor. Changkyun saids hi and kisses the babies.

On our way to the theatre I look strictly out the window. I'm too afraid what may slip out my mouth if I say anything to him.

Changkyun: So..

Oh for fucks sake.

Changkyun: I got tickets to the boy on the bridge.

I gasp turning to face him.

Me: I loved that book!

The boy on the bridge is a book I read when I was pregnant. It's about this girl who's driving home one rainy night from work and she sees a boy standing on the bridge about to commit suicide.

She immediately stops her car to rescue him but he jumps anyway. With reflexes she lunges herself off trying to grab him but ends up falling and dying too.

The next day she awakes, re-living the day before until she successfully saves him. At the end of the book she finds out the reason all the strange occurrences kept happening is because she isn't human at all.

She's actually a wandering angel.

A few years ago she died but her soul could not move on from the human world. Since she saved this man's life she finally got the chance to move on to heaven or the choice to stay on earth for a re-do at life.

The book ended with a cliffhanger.

I was so pissed!

Changkyun: I never read it but the preview looked interesting.

The smell of movie theatre popcorn always makes me more excited than the actual movie itself. The heat, the butter, the crunch! I'm practically drooling.

I have a flashback of when I went to the movies with Wooyoung, I wasn't this nervous at all.

Hm.

Changkyun: Can I have a large popcorn, extra butter.

I grin.

Changkyun: Two medium colas, some nachos, twizzlers and sour patches.

This theatre has reclining seats so I'm going to have the time of my life. I sit the giant tub of popcorn on my lap and shove a handful into my mouth.

Changkyun offers me a nacho and I decline. He asked for extra jalapeños and honestly now that I'm not pregnant anymore I don't really like them.

As soon as the movie starts my eyes are locked and loaded. Now normally movie adaptations don't really live up to the book, but this right here is a work of art so far.

"In another life...."

My eyes begin to water. In another life is the one trope that will have me throwing up for weeks!

I look over and he's just as invested as me.

"Words that was never said,  feelings that were always felt."

The tears begin to pour.

"I pray you walk the path of peace and love."

By the time the credits roll and the lights turn on I'm a mascara filled mess. Changkyun looks at me and instantly starts laughing.

Changkyun: You're such a crybaby.
Me: Shut up!

He takes a napkin dabbing under my eyes.

Changkyun: It was a nice movie.
Me: It was.

Our eyes stare into each other, he pulls his hand away the napkin long forgotten. He clears his throat glancing away before looking back at me.

Changkyun: Jasmine I..-

Screw it.

I lean forward placing my lips on his.
