JUNGKOOK'S POINT OF VIEW

My mouth drops once Haechan bursts into the classroom. The professor pauses her lecture to stare at the out of breath boy.

Professor: Can I help you?
Haechan: J-jeon Jungkook, hospital.
Professor: Excuse me?
Haechan: Jungkook we have to get to the hospital!

My eyes widen.

I fumble tossing my stuff in my bag, apologizing as I run out of class with him.

Haechan: Changkyun said you weren't answering his calls or texts!
Me: I turn my phone off sometimes during class.
Haechan: Ew such a honor student.

We hop in my car and Haechan explains the details along the way. My hands begin to sweat thinking of all the worse case scenarios.

Jasmine is a strong girl she'll be okay I know it.

I hope so.

Haechan alerts all of our parents just in case something happens so they can be on their way to the hospital. The light turns yellow and I blow through it.

We don't have time for that.

The hospital comes into sight and I nearly forget to put my car in park before jumping out.  As soon as we walk in we find Changkyun there pacing the floor.

Me: Any word?
Changkyun: Not yet. You tell her sister and parents.
Haechan: I texted them.

He sighs.

I've never seen him look so stressed out before.

Changkyun: One moment she's eating cookies and laughing the next she's screaming bloody murder.

"Boys!"

Her mother runs over to us, she must've been at work judging from her attire. She gives us all hugs with a soft smile similar to Jasmine's.

Me: Mrs..

She shakes her head.

Her: Call me Cece, we're all like family technically.
Me: Cece have you heard of this happening before.
Cece: A bit of cramping is normal but not pleasant. The blood is what worries me because that's a clear sign of a miscarriage.

Oh God.

A nurse comes out bowing politely.

Nurse: The good news is she's okay. The bad news is she's in labor.
Haechan: She still has like two months!
Nurse: I know, but premature babies are more common than not these days. She informed me that you three are the dads.

We nod awkwardly.

Nurse: So um due to that we're allowed to let you all back there and you are?
Cece: Her mother.
Nurse: Okay follow me.

She leads us to the third floor and down a hallway. We enter the room and Jasmine is pacing around with her IV pole.

Haechan: Why aren't you in bed?
Jasmine: Laying down hurts the worse. Mom!

Her mother rushes to hug her.

Jasmine: Early labor? This is a scam! I was robbed!

She groans tapping the wall repeatedly.

Jasmine: This pain is ridiculous why did you have two kids?

Her mother chuckles.

Cece: It gets easier each time.
Jasmine: I call shenanigans!

Seeing her in so much pain worries me.

Me: Is there anything we can do?
Jasmine: Wear a condom next time!

I deadpan.

Cece: Next time? Please don't make a habit out of this, I-i mean I'm not a stuck in the mud if polygamy is what you kids choose to do then..-

We all start talking and stumbling over each other.

Me: Coffee.
Haechan: Ice chips.
Changkyun: Be right back!

All three of us dash out the room.

On our way back in the waiting room we see Mingi and Maya.

Me: Her room is three fifteen.
Maya: Thank you! Where are you guys going?
Haechan: To uh, get some air.

We nod.

Maya: O-oh okay.

We sit outside on the bench trying to collect our thoughts.

Changkyun: Haechan she's your ex so do you still have feelings towards her?
Haechan: Not really. We broke up because we realized being friends was more fun for us. The sex that night was just a mistake.

Ahhh.

Haechan: Do you guys like her?

Changkyun and I look at each other but don't say anything.

Haechan: Well shit.

JASMINE''S POINT OF VIEW

I'm never fucking raw again.

This pregnancy pain is for the birds!

Maya: I can't believe your having a baby.
Mingi: Me either, I totally thought you'd live alone with five cats.

I send him a death glare.

Mom: Your dad is in the middle of court but he said he'll be done and over here as soon as he can.
Me: No sweat.

I can't say the same for my body though. I'm sweating in places that shouldn't exist! I look down at the floor and see a puddle.

Me: Ah shit, I peed.
Mom: That's my pee honey your water finally broke! I'll go get the nurse. It's going to be time soon!

Time soon?

Holy shit I actually have to push this kid out?

Me: I need vodka!
Maya: Yeah no, you cannot do that. Let me help you to your bed.

She smiles at me while brushing my hair at my face.

Maya: You're going to be a great mom Jasmine.

The tears start flowing and she hugs me.

Maya: It's okay.

The boys rush in and I force a smile through my tears.

Me: My water broke.
Haechan: Oh shit! Start pushing.

The other two slap him upside the head.

Jungkook: That's not how it works dummy.
Changkyun: A person can be in labor for hours.
Jungkook: My mom was in labor with me for eight hours.
Haechan: Holy shit, I didn't know that.

Mingi chuckles.

Mingi: This is who you let get you pregnant.
Haechan: Shut up!

Through the pain and tears all I can do is laugh and be thankful these people are around me.
