~part 1~

Somewhere in Ohio

A young girl is laying in a pile of straw, contemplating if she'll make it into the hero academy in Japan. With her eyes closed, she tried to shake the anxiety off of her so she could think happy thoughts. However, she could never think of good things due to her frightful past. She was about to fall asleep until her grandmother, Bonnie, called her from the house. Naomi picked up the phone and her grandma yelled, "It's them," she cried, "the administration from UA is on the phone." "Oh my god," Naomi proclaimed, "I'll be there in a few seconds." Naomi hung up on the phone and slid down the straw pile. Running in her work boots, she made it to the house and her grandmother was on the phone talking to someone. "Okay," Bonnie said, "Oh, well lookie here, here she is. It was nice talking to you." Bonnie handed her the phone, of course, it was a land-line one so it was easier for my grandpa, Oliver Quinn. Naomi was on the phone for a while "Of course," she said, "I'll get the outfit submission emailed to you as soon as I can, sir. Well, it was very nice talking to you, have a good day, you too, bye." Naomi hung up the phone and looked at her grandma. Tears were already rolling down her face, "I made it grandma," Naomi exclaimed, "I'm going to Japan in a few weeks!" "Did I hear that the little one made it to that school?" Grandpa Oliver said, "You wanna help me with this?" He was dragging a dead buck that was killed that day and of course, she couldn't say no to that. Later that week, Naomi was packing her bags for Japan and taking anything that would help her with her quirk. Her journals and books on astrology and the electro star map that projected the star pattern on the ceiling in her room.

There was a knock at the door, "Can I come in darling?" her grandma asked. "Of course," Naomi replied. She opened the door for Bonnie and went back to work packing for her trip. "You know," she said, "I've never seen you this excited about any trip either than the trip to the lake and to the zoo when you were younger." "Grandma," Naomi implied, "that was when I was little. You know how much this hero training means to me, I've always wanted to go to Japan and I took the opportunity and ran with it. I'm the only one in my class that got transferred." Bonnie leaned against the doorpost and was holding something back. "Grandma," Naomi said, "what's wrong, you look worried." "I am," she said, "but there's something we should have given you after what happened." "Yeah, I know," Naomi said. "Go upstairs," Bonnie said, "find a black box with the constellation Virgo on it and bring it downstairs okay?" "Okay," Naomi said. She put her comb in her suitcase and ran upstairs. Searching through old memorabilia, she couldn't find it. All she could find were old weapons from her grandpa and father and a rag doll that was her mother's. As soon as she moved the table, she heard a thud on the floor, it was the box. She bent down and examined the box very closely. This box was like the one grandma said, black and had the constellation of Virgo. She grabbed the box and went downstairs toward the kitchen where her grandmother was. She laid the box on the table and her grandma jumped to the sound of the thud of the box.

"Well," she said, "you found the box that quickly gosh, it would have taken me forever just to find that." Grandma shuffled her feet to the box and took a key from the hidden necklace around her neck. She put the key in the hole, and there was a clicking sound, like the sound of the clock. There was a light coming from the box until it stopped shining from within. She opened the lid of the box; inside was a black dagger with a very fancy handle. It looked like there was a reflection of the stars in the sky. Naomi took it out of the box. She held it toward the light and saw something within the deadly weapon. She dropped the dagger, "Are you that clumsy," her grandmother said, "it's been in the family for years. Now, do you want to break this?" "I'm sorry," Naomi said, "it's too powerful, even for my quirks." Setting it down, Naomi went back to packing her suitcase for the beginning of her hero training.
