Chapter Four
"Damnit, Jay, where are you guys?" Dick cursed under his breath, checking behind shelves in the lounge for the fifth time.
"Boo!" Dick will never admit it, but he jumped out of his skin when his two toddler brothers jumped out from behind him with a shout. Good thing the team wasn't there to witness that, he would never live it down.
"Jay, Timmy, where were you two?" Dick scolded, kneeling down next to the two sugar high toddlers.
"We was hiding, Dickie." Tim giggled into his hand, the other one holding onto Jason's.
"Yeah Dickie, never tell where." Jason winked overdramatically, tugging on Tim's hand. "Again!"
"Oh, no no no!" Dick scooped his two squirming brothers up in his arms. "Hey guys, I got them!" He called out into the mind link, happy once the rest of the team showed up in the lounge to help with the wiggly toddlers.
"You two made us so scared!" M'gann cried out, hugging the two brothers tightly.
"Sorry, pretty lady. Not mean to worry." Tim smiled, bouncing out of the hug. "We go swim?"
"Swim? Swim, yes?" Jason beamed, bouncing next to Tim eagerly. "Please, Dickie, we be good?"
Dick looked to his teammates, who just shrugged in response. With a sigh, the oldest Wayne brother nodded. "Let's go find you two some swim gear."

"Higher, Supah Boy, higher!" Jason squealed when Conner complied, tossing the three year old high into the air, only for him to fall back down into the water in a fit of giggles. "Yay!"
"My turn! Do me!" Tim paddled over, looking like an over stuffed marshmallow with his swim floaties on his arms and the inner tube around his middle. "Throw me, Supah Boy!"
"Alright, but this is the last time, boys." Conner grinned, knowing full well it was not the last time.
The rest of the team was a few yards away in the water watching the three interact, staying close enough to react incase one of the two toddlers needed help. They were discussing the lack of progress on a fix for their situation when Red Tornado appeared at the opening of the cave, calling out for them.
"Team! Batman has a mission for you!" They sighed, gathering up the protesting toddlers and wadding back onto the shore.
"I wonder what we will do with these two while we are on the mission?" Artemis gestured to the screaming toddlers that Conner held in each arm.
"Batman or Red Tornado will watch them if Bats is busy." Wally shrugged, shaking out his wet hair before entering the mountain in front of the rest of the crew. "Besides, aren't you curious as to what our mission is?"
The team didn't have to wait long as the mission room was a short walk into the mountain and Batman got straight to business. "Team, your mission is to retrieve the cure for my sons', and your teammates', predicament. You will be returning to the island where it all went down and looking for this vial." He pulled up a picture of a grey liquid in a round bottle on the holographic computer, spinning it so that the team could see the label. "Bring it back promptly. As usual, do not engage with anyone unless it is needed. That is all."
"Sir, what about Tim and Jason?" Kaldur questioned, gesticulating towards the brothers who had calmed down considerably and were now taking turns styling Conner's hair.
Batman smiled, taking his sons from the half-Kryptonian. "I will be watching them while you retrieve the cure. Make haste. As much as I miss them like this, it isn't fair to them to keep them like this."
"Like what, daddy?" Tim asked, his big blue eyes staring up at Batman curiously.
"Yeah, daddy, like what?" Jason added, poking his father's cheek with a giggle. "You look silly in suit, daddy."
Batman motioned for the team to head to the bioship, looking down at his two sons with love in his eyes. I'm going to miss this...
"I kind of hope they remember their time as toddlers, good blackmail material." Artemis blurted, plopping down in her chair on the bioship.
"Oh, hell yeah it is. I took so many photos and backed them up so many times, even Tim wouldn't be able to destroy them all." Conner snickered, high fiving Artemis as the rest of the team boarded the ship.
"Guys come on, those are my brothers." Dick scolded, glaring at the team. "I should get first dibs on blackmail material!"
"Finders keepers, losers weepers." Kaldur shrugged, buckling in and ignoring Dick's whines of protests. "Same strategy as last time then? Start a sweep of the island and move inwards, each of us will take a different floor of the warehouse. Got it?"
"Aye aye, captain." Wally grinned as M'gann took off.
Meanwhile, Batman had changed into his civvies and brought the two Batboys back to the mansion to see Alfred one last time. When they stepped out of the zeta tubes, Jason was fast asleep in Bruce's arms and Tim was struggling to fight off the sugar crash that had claimed his brother. Bruce just smiled at the two of them, walking up the stairs into the manor to be greeted by Alfred.
"My word, Master Bruce, I didn't actually believe you when you said that Master Jason and Master Tim were turned into toddlers again." Alfred exclaimed when his family emerged from the clock. "How are they doing?"
"Their vitals are stable and they are acting the same as they did the first time around, everything looks normal. Well, as normal as this can be." Bruce chuckled at his sleeping sons, following Alfred to their rooms. When he tried to place Jason down without Tim the older boy whined, gripping Tim like a steel trap as well as Bruce's arm. Bruce looked at Alfred helplessly, but the butler just laughed.
"It looks like you have to stay with them, Master Bruce." Alfred turned and walked to the door of Jason's bedroom, stopping to turn the lights out. "Have a nice nap, gentlemen. I will wake you when the team returns."
Bruce resigned himself to being cuddled on both sides by his two youngest, a soft expression dawning on his face as his head fell back on the pillow. He closed his eyes, just for a moment, listening to the soft snores of his boys. This, to him, was peace.
He hadn't even realized he had fallen asleep until Alfred, true to his word, woke him up with news that the Young Justice squad had returned.
"They are back, Master Bruce. And they have the cure."
