(Y/n)'s P.O.V:

I look into the cloudless blue sky as I sit on my signature rock. I run my finger through my (H/c) (H/l) wet hair as the calm breeze helps me dry it. I sigh into the beautiful scenery of the ocean. I know for a matter of fact I shouldn't be near the shoreline of the beach. However, something in me always tells me to just go for it! I flip my (F/c) find into the air to stretch them out! God it feels so long since I last gone out for a swim! I suddenly hear cheers from the coastlines. I look towards the noise and I brush my (H/c) hair out of my face. I'm always the curious mermaid. I dive down into the crystal blue waters and I swim cautiously closer to investigate the cheers.

Cuphead's P.O.V:

Bendy, Boris, Felix, Mugs and I are all hanging out at the beach. I'm not really into playing in the water or and sand activities actually. I just like to walk down the beach and enjoy the views. I can bet everyone is into stuff like that, I watch some more of my brother splashing at Boris and Bendy. As for Felix is on his god damn note book again. I swear he needs to cut his work a break! I sigh and I sit off my beach chair. Felix turns to me with a look on his face.

"Going off for the beach walk?"

"Yeah... just please tell Mugs that I'm just going for a stroll if he notices."

"Noted." Felix simply says to me and continues his writing. I begin to walk away from everyone and I come by a rock cliff. I observe it closer and I see a opening inside this hunk of rock! I sure hope none of the guys are following me right now. I head to the cave and I peek inside it. What I see inside makes my mind blow up. A... mermaid!? How is this possible!? I thought these only exist in kids books and movies! She has her mermaid fins a wonderful (F/c) shade, as the rest of her tail is a regular (F/c) tone. It glitters with the waters as I watch her brush her (H/c) hair with her fingers. All doing this as she's singing the loveliest melody. She looking at the wall as the waters reflect off her and the rock she's sitting on. She suddenly shivers as she slowly starts to turn around.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V:

"Hello? I-Is someone there?" I ask the quietness of my cave. I swear I have this stupid feeling of someone creeping on me. Though, this is just nerves in my head that just love screwing me off. I sigh and I look back at the rock wall. I turn over to the blue seashell with this beautiful aqua paste in it. I dip my finger tips into the paste and I draw on the walls as I proceed my melody. I trace my finger to wherever it wants. Mermaids and Mermen are supposed to be artists in all ways possible. But, I'm really modest so that's my problem. No matter what I do I feel like it's never good enough to my standards. I stop drawing on the walls as I feel something crackle behind me. I spin myself around to see a teen with a literal cup as a head. He steps on a stray seashell with a busted look on his face. On no!

"W-What do you want from me!?" I snap at this weird ass cup man coldly. He looks taken back as he steps backwards by one baby step.

"Whoa! Easy toots! I'm don't want anything from you!" He re-ensures me. I take a breath and I wash away my paint on my fingers with the water. We jut stare at each other in awkwardness. I break that silence as I open my mouth.

"Sorry about that, you see... I don't have the best history with land people." I say in a apologetic tone. I see the cup man with a forgiving grin on him, I chuckle awkwardly as I fiddle with a strand of my (H/c) hair. What I'm saying is true. I really don't have a good history with land people. After every single thing they've done to me... Boy this cup guy has it smooth. I luckily feeling super generous, so I guess this guy can live. Screw this! He's even just lucky I'm being nice to him! Me being nice to land people? tag that a million bucks worth. 

"It's alright... By the way, I'm Cuphead. What's your name sweetie?" 

"(Y/n), also... how flattering of you to call me sweetie, save it when you see another land person like yourself buys that." 

"What's with the sass here?" Cuphead asks me, I sigh and I use my hands to rub my arms for some warmth. Even though I don't really need it. I stare at Cuphead and he just stares at me with confusion all over his face. I sigh to myself, this is just perfect. I guess I have no choice but to tell him my history. What else could I possibly want then to drive this guy off as he's telling his friends that he's seen a mystical mermaid. Hell, he might sell me for millions. That's at least what the last guy tried to do to me. 

"I'm sorry... again. Look, I don't have the best past experience with humans. Or land people." I begin to explain plainly. I still fiddle with my single strand of hair and I avoid eye contact with Cuphead as much as I possibly can. 

"What happened?" 

"I'm a mermaid, our type is nearly gone from existence. So we're really rare now-a-days. Almost every person I've ever met who lives on land tried to either capture me or kill me for the big bucks. I can't trust anyone now, which is really sad;" I explain to Cuphead. He listens closely and he nods to my explanation. I still can't let my guard down though! If I'm not careful, then... I could die. But I don't wanna die! Not now... I can be one of the last of my own kind if I'm not careful enough, "I gotta get going, I can't risk myself getting caught again for my own good." 

"W-Wait!" I stop as I turn back to Cuphead. I stop myself before I splash into the crystal blue waters and escape back into the ocean. I stare at him and he clears his throat; "C-Can I see you again sometime?" 

"Sure, but you better come alone. Or else I sadly have no other choice but to kill you. Please keep that in mind." I warn Cuphead, he nods his head at me and I splash into the waters. And I move my (F/c) mermaid tail speedily and I escape this cave and back into the ocean. I... I honestly don't wanna kill this Cuphead guy. He seems really nice.... and pretty cute. No no no! Stop that now! I can't trust anymore land people!

Can I? 

Cuphead's P.O.V: 

I can't believe it, I get to see a real life mermaid and she's a cutie too. But.... I have to keep her warning in mind. She is giving me a chance to see her again, but if any of the guys figure her out. She's probably going to kill all of us. I even have to keep this a secret from Mugs. Fuck, I better just keep the promise I made with (Y/n). I can't even begin to imagine what she's been through to make her heart become cold. Hell of a past is all I can say. I walk out of (Y/n)'s cave and I begin my way back to everyone else. Kicking the sand into the air as I review today. I swear this is both amazing and shocking. (Y/n).... 

She..... She can't fall for someone like me, (Y/n) hates land people. 

....

Who the hell am I kidding? NO ONE wants a guy like me.
