Selena's POV:
I revved the car up in an angry motion. As the engine roared to life, I wiped the fresh tears that were clouding my vision, falling freely down my rose cheeks. Taking a deep breath to calm myself, I pulled out of the garage and into the busy streets of New York City. Deciding it was enough of the crying and that the situation didn't deserve it, I sniffed one last time. I can't believe I just walked out on my parents. I preferred not to think about the consequences of my actions. Being grounded for my whole life seemed like the least of my worries right now. I was completely screwed once I returned home. Because I would eventually have to come back. And I was dreading the moment. However, there was something that still nagged me. My parents said they had found out I ditched because of Ryan but, how the hell could he know about it? Figuring I would have to call him to find out, I took advantage of a red light to slide my phone out of my pocket and dial his number. Swapping to the speaker mode, I rested the device on the dashboard and waited for my brother to pick up. "C'mon." I impatiently tapped my fingers on the steering wheel. When he finally answered, his voice sounded confused. "Sis?" "Don't 'sis' me, Ryan." I spat, stomping my foot on the pedal again when the light turned green. "How the hell did you find out?" "What are you talking about, Selena?" If I hadn't known better, I would have believed he was genuinely oblivious to what I was on. "Don't play dumb with me. Who told you I skipped school today and why did you tell mom and dad?" I nearly shouted. Although I was breathing deeply to remain calm, Ryan's stupidity wasn't helping the cause and I was afraid I would run over someone while driving. "I should be the one asking you why the hell you ditched, you know?" His voice turned darker as he too became fed up with me. "That happens to not concern you. It's my life." I retorted, getting impatient again. He spoke as if he had never missed one lesson. Hypocrite. Stopping at another red light, my foot tapped rhythmically on the carpeted floor of the car. Ryan snorted loudly on the other end. "It happens to concern me when I know the reason why you did it." "Really? Enlighten me then." I sneered, even though he couldn't see me. "Hmm, let me think, maybe that Bieber boy?" He remarked snarly. "Here we go again." I sighed irritated at his inexplicable hatred towards Justin, my teeth grinding together. "You thought I wouldn't find out, Selena? I know you two are dating." His tone grew madder by the second. "No shit. And who told you?" I emitted a sigh of relief when I saw the familiar streets of the Bronx coming into view. I knew where I wanted to come right to as soon as I crossed the door of my house. "That doesn't matter." He muttered. "Oh, but it matters to me so tell me now." My voice grew at least an octave higher in pure annoyance. "Fine, you wanna know?" He challenged. "Duh." "Natasha told me! You happy?" He snapped after spilling the news. Why didn't it surprise me? I should have guessed it from the beginning. "You're back to being friends now or?" I snorted, taking a turn to the left. "What is it to you?" He mimicked my bitchy tone from before. "Considering that she's a backstabbing bitch that used to be my best friend, well, I think I have the right to care." I replied, my hands gripping the steering wheel with such force that my knuckles went white. "Whatever, Selena." Ryan hissed. "You have no idea of how frustrating it is to see you're disobeying me and ignoring my advice." I could picture him shaking his head in disappointment but I wanted to laugh. "Excuse me, but you never gave me a valid reason to stay away from Justin." I pointed. "Me being your older brother should be enough." He answered back. "Older brothers are supposed to be caring and supportive, not sneaky asses that tell on their sisters." I said, hurt and anger mixing in my words. "One day, you'll realise I'm doing this for you and then you'll wish you had listened to me." He said sincerely. "You've never given me a reason to do that." I mumbled, sadness taking over my emotions. "Why do you think Justin hasn't told you anything either? He doesn't want you to know because then you won't want to be with him anymore." This is so frustrating, I thought while parking my car in an empty spot near Justin's house. "Stop it, Ryan. I'm just...so sick of you doing this. I love Justin, okay?" I screamed, tears pricking at the back of my eyes. It was the first time I admitted it to someone else other than myself. "Shit, Selena, don't cry." His voice turned softer. "He's not worth it, I'm just trying to be a good big brother and protect you. Besides he's so much older than you." "You're not doing a great job." I whispered more to myself than to him. "And he's not that older than me, only a couple of years. You were three years older than Natasha when you guys dated." Yes, that happened, unfortunately. "So your argument is invalid. Don't be such a hypocrite." "I bet he only wants to get in your pants." He scoffed, the softness leaving his words as quickly as it came. "It seems like you're defining yourself." I chuckled humourlessly. I have a manwhore of a brother, yet he has the nerve to say Justin only wants me for sex. "I have to go, Ryan. Bye." Giving him no chance to reply, I hung up and rested my head against the seat of my car, taking a moment to compose myself before getting out. Once I was calmed and no longer crying, I checked my reflection in the rearview mirror. My eyes were slightly puffy but, fortunately, I had put on waterproof mascara this morning so I avoided the panda look. Taking a paper tissue from my pocket, I blew my nose. I looked like crap to be honest, but there was little I could do besides throwing my hair in a ponytail and trying to fake a smile. Stepping out of the car, I locked the doors and began walking towards Justin's building. I should have called him telling him I was coming but I didn't have time. Just when I was about to cross to the right sidewalk, I caught sight of a familiar face. Squinting my eyes as I strolled closer, I realised it was Jazmyn. Upon seeing me, she frowned but met me halfway. "Selena, what are you doing here?" When she saw my face, concern instantly latched her soft features. "What happened?" "I sort of walked away from my parents." I scratched the inside of my wrist, looking down. I sounded like a whiny little brat. "Are you serious?" She gave me the I-don't-buy-it look. "Do you know where your brother is?" I asked in urgency to see Justin. I needed him to tell me that everything was gonna be okay. "Actually, he's in the other side of the park with his friends playing basketball or something." She smiled warmly at me when she sensed my discomfort. "I can show you if you want." "Please." I nodded, following her and ignoring the curious stares we got from the girls she was with. Jazzy linked arms with me in an attempt to cheer me up. After all, she seemed to have grown to like me or at least more than she did the first day we met. "You have Justin so whipped." She commented, earning a light laugh from me. "I've never seen him like this, even my mom is freaking out. Not that we're complaining though, it's so much better like this." She grinned at me, leading me across a sandy path that ended at some street basketball courts. I think they were the same ones we had been to in my friendly date with Justin back in October. "Thank you, Jazmyn. I just like to see him happy." I managed a smile back, genuinely flattered by her nice comments. We stopped there where I could already see Tyson bouncing the ball, ready to score and Mike trying to block him. Justin was gulping down a water of bottle, covered barely in black basketball shorts and a long-sleeved grey and red t-shirt. I swear his tolerance for the coldness of the city in December fazes me. Smiling up at me since she was slightly shorter, Jazzy gave me a quick hug before walking over to her friends again. "See you around." She waved before disappearing. As soon as Justin left his bottle on the floor and our gazes met, his mouth hung open and he blinked a few times in confusion. I sauntered over to where he stood, my hands stuffed deep in the pockets of my coat as I stared up at him biting my lip. "Selena?" "Hey." "It's a good thing that you're really here; I thought I was having visions." His eyebrows wrinkled cutely, making me giggle. "Nope, I'm really here." I swung back and forth on the soles of my boots, avoiding Justin's questioning gaze. "Not that I'm not happy to see you but, what are you doing here, baby?" One of his hands came to rest on my shoulder reassuringly. I hesitantly looked up to meet his eyes. They looked so unbelievably beautiful under the mid-afternoon light that for a moment I zoned out. "Baby." He shook my shoulder lightly to snap me out of it. "Hmm?" I hummed. "What happened?" "Oh, my parents found out I didn't go to school." I replied carelessly. "What? But, how? Nobody saw us." Justin shook his head in disbelief. "Apparently, Natasha did. And she told my brother who told my parents." I explained, scoffing at the thought of having such amazing people in my life. With people like them, who needs enemies? "No offence, but your brother is a dick." Justin bit his lip, no trail of shame in his words. "None taken, I basically called him that over the phone." I shrugged. Right now, Justin could say whatever he wanted about my brother and I wouldn't even flinch. Nevertheless, if it was the other way round...well, it obviously wasn't the same, as had shown in our previous phone conversation. "And your parents didn't ground you?" Justin's expression changed to a very surprised one. "I didn't give them time to." My front teeth nibbled in my bottom lip. I was unsure and nervous about Justin's reaction to me walking out on my parents. "What do you mean you didn't give them time to?" He inquired carefully, although the merest bit of acknowledge was present in his voice. "I kind of... just left." My nervousness made my statement sound more like a question. "Oh no, you didn't." He took a step back, his head shaking like was unwilling to believe what I had just said. "Jeez, thanks for your support." I folded my arms across my chest, switching my gaze from Justin to a nearby tree, a pang of hurt sweeping through me. "No, Sel, it's just...I'm shocked." He unfolded my arms, sliding his fingers through mine so they were interlocked. "I didn't know what else to do. They were yelling at me and my dad said he wouldn't let me see you anymore." A frustrated tear escaped from my eye but Justin quickly wiped it away with our knuckles. "Shh, it's okay, Princess." He cooed, dropping one of my hands to stroke my hair soothingly while my free arm embraced his waist. The fact that he had been playing made the smell of Axe more noticeable emanating from his body. Yum. "But how did they even find out?" "I have no idea. My mom said it was obvious in my behaviour but it wouldn't surprise me if Ryan had told them as well. I hate him." I scowled, burying my face in Justin's warm chest. "They basically think I'm dating a criminal." His body stiffened upon hearing this, making my face lift up to glance at him. "They're not so wrong there." He mumbled, a guilty expression drawing on his beautiful features. "Shut up, Justin. That's not true and I don't care what they think." I assured him, smoothing the frown between his bushy eyebrows. Justin took a deep breath, throwing his head back to exhale. "Alright, let's just try to forget about it for a while, yeah? You can spend some time here before you have to go back." He was right, I'd have to go back. I had thought about asking Kelsey to stay at her place but it would put her mother in an uncomfortable compromise since she was friends with my own. Instead, I nodded, leaning up on my tiptoes to kiss Justin's lips. "Will it be too cheesy if I say I already missed you?" I asked, innocently battling my eyelashes. Justin chuckled, hooking his arms around my waist. "Kinda, but I don't mind because I missed you too." He kissed me again, his soft lips giving me the reassurance I was looking for. "You can go back to your friends now, I don't want them to think I stole you from them." I giggled after we pulled away, looking behind him at the guys still playing basketball. They were pretty damn good if you ask me. "Nah, I'd rather be with you. I've been playing for quite some time already." Justin grabbed my hand and walked me to a wooden bench. I hopped on the backrest while he sat on the normal seat between my legs. I played with his hair in my fingers. "What's your secret to have such soft hair?" I asked in curiosity. To be honest, Justin's hair was too silky and shiny to belong to a guy. It was like the hair every girl wished to have, including me. "I don't have soft hair." He replied, eyeing me warily with his head cocked to the side so it rested on my thigh. "Yes, you do." Now that I knew it bothered him to hear that, it was gonna be the next blank of my mocks. "You use conditioner, don't you?" I crooked a brow knowingly. "What? I only wash it with shampoo." He defended himself, making me giggle at how easy it was to wind him up. "Sure, Justin. I believe you." I sang in a mocking voice. "Selena." He whined. "We guys don't care about how our hair looks as much as you girls do." "Oh, but you do, Justin. I know you spend at least twenty minutes everyday styling it." I poked his side, my other hand running through the dirty blonde mop on top of his head, ruffling the front. "You're messing it up." He whined yet again like a little kid, reminding me of Jaxon. This sent me into uncontrollable fits of giggles. "I'm glad I'm amusing you." He crossed his arms stubbornly, pouting his lips in an adorable manner. "Aww, Justin." I cooed. "You're so cute." Gently cupping his jaw with my hands, I tilted his head back to lean down and softly press my lips to his. It looked like one of those kisses between Spiderman and Mary Jane since we were upside down. "That doesn't make up for you laughing at me." Justin warned once I was sitting upright again. "I was just messing with you, Jay. You know I love your hair." I pecked his cheek from the side, hugging his neck. "There you are, lovebirds. " Tyson interrupted the moment, swaggering towards us and sitting next to Justin. "Isn't Kelsey around to keep you entertained, Tyson?" I asked in a sugar-coated tone. "She's on her way, don't worry." He winked at me, earning a slap to the back of his head from Justin. "What the fuck man? I didn't do anything." He rubbed the spot, sending daggers at Justin. "You don't wink at my girl." Justin warned, making me melt at how protective he could become. What did I do to deserve such an amazing boyfriend? Indeed, a few minutes later, Kelsey appeared wearing a wide grin and a black coat. "Hello, everyone!" She waved her hand around. "Why so cheery?" I raised my eyebrows, a chuckle escaping my lips. "I could tell you why." Tyson suggested winking at her. That earned him another slap on the back of his head. "Tyson!" Kelsey's cheeks tinted a deep shade of red, making Justin and I laugh. Refusing to sit next to her boyfriend, she joined me on the back of the bench. After telling her the whole thing with my parents – and some of the details of my morning with Justin – Kelsey's expression was unreadable. "Why are your days always so interesting?" She shook her head in bewilderment. I snorted. "Interesting? More like full of drama." I swear there's not a day I can go without facing some kind of problem. "Are you gonna tell your parents about Justin? You know, you'll have to introduce him to them someday." I looked away at the guys that were newly playing basketball. Justin looked so carefree and so boyish when he was with his friends that I doubted my parents' environment was the right one for him. He would feel so uncomfortable around them. "To be honest, I don't know." Letting out a long breath, I fixed my eyes on the ground. "He's coming this Saturday to my mom's fashion presentation but..." I trailed off, unsure of what I wanted to say myself. "You don't know whether you should introduce them then or not." Kelsey completed the sentence for me. "Exactly." "If I were you, and after what they told you today, I wouldn't do it. You know, Justin is a great guy and he cares for you but he's not the polite, well-educated young man your parents want for you." She continued, flipping her eyes to my boyfriend running across the court. "It may be too soon." I buried my face in my hands at the complexity of my life. Actually, my life had never been complicated. That's until Justin came along. I used to have everything I asked for from my parents and all I had to do in return was get good grades and behave. However, at the same time, Justin was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Him coming into my life had made me see things differently and start questioning my old beliefs. "You're right. I guess it's better if they don't know him yet." I eventually concluded. Kelsey patted my thigh in understanding – after all, her situation was no different. Sometimes I wished my parents were like Pattie, so easy to get along with and so non-judgmental. But that was not the case. And we still have to add my brother Ryan into the picture. Deciding it was enough of the topic for such an eventful day, Kelsey began to tell me about school and how she knew Natasha was up to something this morning. "She came up to me seeing as I was alone and tried to work her wicked tricks on me." She scoffed. Obviously, it hadn't worked. "As soon as she started with the 'You and I used to be such good friends but you took Bella's side and left me alone blah blah blah' I cut her off. I can't believe she thinks she can still manipulate me." Shaking her head, she didn't realise she had brought a smile to my lips. At least my true friends were still there for me. "She wanted to 'go back to the good old times'." She quoted, scowling. "She thinks she can brainwash me or something and don't get me started in her new puppies slash followers. Those girls are even worse than the queen bitch herself, if that's even possible..." I kept listening to Kelsey rambling on and on about her morning, laughing here and there, until the guys came back. Apparently, the game had finished and Tyson's team had won so they were going to celebrate by smoking pot. The idea didn't seem to appealing to Kelsey, who dismissed Tyson's offer for a joint, rolling her green eyes at the action. A pair of arms enveloped me from behind, pulling me against their chest. That irresistible smell of Axe made me realise it was Justin – not that anyone else here would hug me like that. "Aye." He greeted me, making me turn my head sideways so I could look at him. "Hey." A small smile teased my lips. Every-time he looked at him, so adorably, butterflies took over my stomach as if it was the first time I gazed into his eyes. Tugging at my hips, I got Justin's message to make me leave the bench – the one all his friends had circled around. "Why did you want to leave?" I asked, slightly confused at his sudden urge to disappear. We were now leaning against one of those metallic net fences, Justin's arms at both sides of my body. "I'm not... comfortable being there while all of my friends are smoking weed." He scratched his neck awkwardly. "Aren't you gonna smoke?" I formulated the question because the last one hadn't really answered any of my doubts. "You want me to?" Justin looked slightly taken aback. "No, I mean, it's your life and your decision." I explained. It was weird that he was asking me for permission? "Yeah, but you hate it when I smoke." Justin stated, probably questioning why this conversation was being so weird as much as I was. "You say that you don't like it, that it's illegal, that it's not good for me." He continued reminding me about all of my opinions on the subject. "Actually," An idea struck me. I was going to hell for this but my current anger towards my parents and brother was so strong that I just wanted to do something that I knew would piss them off to no end. That's if they ever found out, of course, which I wasn't planning on letting happen. "What if both of us smoke?" I bit my lip, already expecting Justin's first reaction to my suggestion. His mouth opened quickly to dismiss my idea. "Ha, no way." "Why not?" I demanded an explanation. "Who are you and what have you done with my girlfriend?" "Justin, I'm being serious." I tugged at his hands. To have been playing basketball for nearly an hour, he wasn't very sweaty, which I was grateful for. "Selena, are you hearing yourself right now?" He exclaimed bewildered. "You hate drugs, you don't do drugs and you don't want me to do drugs." I rolled my eyes at his stubbornness. "Well, now I want to try them and you can't do anything about it." Stomping my foot on the floor like a kid, I turned on my heels and headed for our group of friends, willing to take some weed if they offered me. I heard Justin's sigh of irritation before his hand clutched around my wrist, stopping me dead in my tracks. "Baby, if this is just because you're mad at your family—" I cut him off. "It's not about that. I just want to try it and if you're not coming with me then I'll ask Tyson to give me some." I declared, aiming to walk away. "Why are you being like this? Selena, it's drugs. Drugs." He emphasised, the worry in his eyes almost making me want to abandon the idea but I stood my ground. "They destroy your health." "You never seemed to care about that before." I folded my arms across my chest, glancing away. "It's not my health I care about, it's yours." He held my chin between his thumb and index finger, making our gazes meet. The look in his eyes was almost pleading, although his voice remained firm. "And I appreciate it but I want to do this. People say marijuana is a good stress-reliever and I could use some of that right now." I pointed. In reality, I was nervous and I wanted Justin to be with me when I smoke for the first time. That's why, knowing he would follow me, I shook off his grip and strolled back to the bench. "Do you want the last joint, man? These bitches were all over it but I saved it for you." Tyson offered him the thick cylinder, speaking between puffs of his own. Justin hesitated biting his lip. I felt kind of bad that he was gonna end up smoking because of me but it's not like he hadn't done it dozens of times before. "Actually, if Justin doesn't want –" "Give me it." He interrupted me, his lips pursed in a tight line. I smirked in accomplishment, walking to him. Tyson was lighting up the end of the new joint with his own as Justin eagerly took the thing to his lips once it was lit. "I knew you would cave in." I said suggestively, playing with the zipper of his grey jacket. Justin ignored me, blowing the smoke in the other direction while he sat on the bench rest, his ankles crossed on the ground. "Let me try." I tried to reach for the smoke but he lifted his hand to a height I couldn't reach even if I jumped. "Nope." He seemed a bit annoyed at me, making me grit my teeth together. My new strategy was waiting for him to become less aware of everything, as the effects of the drug kicked in, so he would willingly give me a drag. Nevertheless, he was smoking it so slowly that it didn't cause any reaction in him yet. Taking advantage of how everyone was engaged in their own conversations, laughs and giggles filling the air fruit of the drugs, I scooted closer to Justin. Pressing my hands to his stomach, I planted a feathery kiss to his exposed neck, right above his jugular. "Don't do that." He breathed out. "Why not?" I looked up at him, setting myself between his legs but keeping my hands on his toned abs. "You know why." He replied coolly. "It's not gonna work." We'll see about that. I waited for Justin to inhale another puff of the pot before cupping his face in my hands and covering his mouth with mine. That way, when he had to exhale, the smoke would go to my mouth. Taken by surprise by my move, Justin tried to push me away but when I didn't budge, he had no other choice than to let the smoke come out. That crazy guy from the club had been useful for something. Inhaling the smoke, I let it get to my lungs before exhaling again, this time without coughing. "And that was a perfect iguana." Unexpectedly, Justin chuckled. "You're so stubborn." "I'm used to getting my way." I shrugged, turning around so my back was pressed to his chest. His free arm circled my waist pulling me closer. Maybe the drug was working its magic already because Justin seemed more relaxed. Dropping a small kiss on the side of my neck, Justin murmured something in my ear. "You look so sexy when you're mad." I giggled, throwing my head back on his shoulder. "Do you feel anything different?" He asked taking another drag of the now shorter cylinder. How it was possible that, after smoking half of the thing by himself, he still seemed unaffected impressed me, above all when I was all giggly after just one puff. "It's...weird." I decided, slouching more into Justin's body. From the corner of my eye I could see Kelsey shaking her head at me but I didn't care at the moment. Taking Justin's hand in mine, I dragged his fingers to my lips, positioning the joint in between them and breathing. Repeating the same action from before, I exhaled the smoke afterwards. I felt a little lightheaded and my legs were a bit wobbly but it was a funny feeling at the same time. I felt like giggling all the time. "Enough for today." Justin laughed at my reactions, putting the joint out by smashing it on the wooden bench and keeping the rests in his pants pocket. "This is cool." I claimed, laughing at nothing in particular. "Bro, I think your girl is high." Mike nudged Justin, earning a shrug from him. "She only had two drags." "But it was her first time." He pointed. These boys must have smoked so many things in their lives, they barely affect them anymore. "Where is Sam?" I chirped in, scanning the park for her black curls. I hadn't seen her since I had arrived. "I don't know." Mike shrugged his shoulders; although it was evident there was some kind of problem between them since the other day at the club. Lifting myself from Justin, I tugged at his hand for him to stand with me. "What do you want to do?" "Hmm, I want to be alone with you." I whispered, letting out a giggle at the end. Justin chuckled, putting his hands on my hips. "Let's go." I followed him to a tree-y zone, where he separated two tall bushes to let us in a small square-shaped meadow. It looked very familiar. "Wait, I've been here before, right?" I questioned to no one in particular. "You remember?" Justin arched a bushy brow. His eyebrows were darker than his hair but it oddly looked good, very good. "Oh, yeah." I dragged the words when realisation hit me. "This is where you tried to kiss me that time when you were high." I smirked at him. Justin giggled, causing the same reaction in me. "You would have kissed me back and you know it." "I had a boyfriend back then and you still scared me." He closed the distance between us, leaving me trapped against a trunk the same way he had done a couple months ago. "I scared you?" He rested an arm above my head on the tree trunk, his other hand travelling under my coat to my hip. "You seemed like trouble." I responded, his lips now mere inches away from mine. "But you already wanted me." He purred seductively. "I didn't." I lied licking my lips. I caught him staring at them. "You liked me the moment you saw me, baby." He started leaving sloppy kisses along my jaw and down my neck as far as my scarf allowed him. "Don't flatter yourself." I said shakily, my mind in a blur due to his proximity. Justin's fingers rubbed patterns on the skin of my hipbone; somehow he had manoeuvred to lift the several coats of cloth that hid it. My lips were aching for his and I didn't care if we were in the middle of a public park, after all there were bushes all around. Cocking my head down, I searched for his mouth. When our lips collided, bolts of electricity shot through them, making me crave for more. I easily let him slip his tongue inside my mouth, my hands moving to the back of his neck, forcing him closer. Unlike our usual kisses, which were slow and sweet, this one was rough and passionate. Swirls of emotions poured all over, sending me into a dizzy whirlwind. Suddenly, Justin's hand was travelling down closer to the waistband of my panties, his crotch pressed against mine. If we hadn't been in a park, I'm afraid the events of the other day in his room would have been been relived. Pulling away when the need for air was too much, I breathed heavily, faint voices calling my name in the distance. My head spun from the adrenaline, my legs barely holding my weight. My eyelids fluttered open and closed repeatedly. "Selena!" I heard my name being called again but I ignored it. Justin was gazing down at me, the same desire I was feeling visible in his darkened irises. "Kelsey thinks I love you." I whispered once I had regained my breath. "Selena!" The voice sounded closer. "Do you?" Justin asked tentatively, his eyes not once leaving mine as his hands gently steadied me against the tree. "Wow. I think I'm high." I mumbled breaking eye contact, a giggle escaping my swollen lips. "Selena! What the hell where you? I've been calling you for five minutes!" Kelsey's alarmed voice burst in our little meadow through the same crack Justin and I had used to enter before. "I'm sorry. I didn't hear you." I shook my head as if that would make my dizziness fade away. Unwrapping my arms from Justin, I took a cautious step in Kelsey's direction. Now, being high didn't seem so cool. "Why the heck did you smoke, Selena? I swear you're going crazy." Kelsey exclaimed, running a finger through her brown hair before yanking my arm towards her. "Hey!" I whined, glaring at her. We heard Justin hitting the tree behind us with his fist but Kelsey kept dragging me with her so I couldn't turn around. "Where are we going?" "It's Sam." She whispered, a mixture of uncertainty and sadness in her words. "You need to hear this. She needs us." After a few more minutes of walking, we met Sam in a corner of the basketball court, far away from the rest of the guys. Justin had returned to them, awkwardly shifting his legs and brushing his fingers through his hair. I was aware of how hot my face was before Sam commented on it. "Don't ask." I put a hand up, my cheeks felt flustered. "Do you wanna tell Sel?" Kelsey rubbed Sam's arm in a sweet manner and that was when I noticed the dry tears under her almost black eyes. However, what she said next was something I was most definitely not expecting and it made my high go from skyscraper-high to New York's underground-low in less than a nanosecond. "I'm pregnant."
