Chapter 2: Office Rush
Wait! 7:30! There was no time to lose! Only 30 minutes left before she needed to leave for work. After that, she will be extremely late. Swallowing back a yawn, Yashvi quickly places an order for a black coffee through her phone, before heading back into the bathroom. There is a Starbucks on her way to work, making it easy to pick it up. There was no way she could stay awake this morning without that cup of caffeine.
In her bathroom, she puts on a body-shaping camisole to hide her flabby stomach. The camisole also had a slot for her to place enough padding to make her bust seem more defined. Although the tight material is extremely uncomfortable to wear during the night, it works marvelously to give her a more attractive figure during the day.
Afterward, Yashvi put on a pair of formal pants and a wine-red shirt she had already picked out yesterday night. This was the only set of clothing she could find that fit her perfectly, and didn’t make her look too ugly. “It’s time to do the laundry again,” she thinks to herself before moving on to do her makeup.
Although she was already wearing makeup, it wouldn’t last for the whole day. The current makeup was aimed towards making a cute no-makeup look for her social media post. For the office, she would need something a little more long-lasting and evident. To prepare for the next set of makeup, Yashvi wipes her face and adds some moisturizer and primer.
She goes again with a concealer and color correctors to make sure all blemishes and pimples are covered properly. Unlike her social media post, where she could fine tune her face with filters, all of her coworkers will be able to see her blemishes if they are not concealed. Once her skin looks even, she blends in a layer of foundation and defines her face structure through contours. To bring some color, she dabs a small amount of blush on her cheeks and swipes a light layer of red eyeshadow on her eyelids. The whole look is brought together with some dark eyeliner and black honey lipstick.
“Good enough,” she thinks. “I can always wear a mask if it looks bad.”
Tensed to get to the office on time, she rushes to Starbucks and picks up her coffee. In a hurry, she accidentally bumps into someone as she exits the cafe. Coffee and papers flew into a mess as two strangers collided on their hurried path, unaware their destinies were now intertwined.
“Can’t you see where you are going!” She yells out in frustration. “You bl–” The words disappear from her mouth as she stands speechless, gazing at the softest and purest smile she has ever seen.
Hey! Here's the second chapter of this short story. I know the chapter are short, but it seemed like a perfect cliffhanger. Anyways, let me know how it looks so far?
