Interview with Zeha_H

1) When did you first, without hesitation, call yourself a writer?

1. I dont think labeling is really necessary but I considered myself a writer since I was like 8. I had possible plots and I guess when I had "officially" became a writer, I was 12, the time I first wrote Arranged.

2) What inspires you to write?

2. I wasn't really motivated in writing Arranged but somehow a lot of readers start paying attention to my work, so I guess when the procrastination bug bites me, the readers keep me going as I hate disappointing them.

3) How many books have you written? Which is your favorite and why?

3. Roughly eleven but the only completed one is Arranged and for now I'm taking a break from writing those stories to focus on editing Arranged. I'm also writing my very first original contemporary romance fiction and I've just published it today. (Fling of a Lifetime.)

4) Arranged is a Fanfiction. What draws you to this genre?

4. I am a fangirl. But One Direction is like the only pop boyband I like? Because my taste usually lean toward female singers like Beyoncé and Rihanna. So the boys are really my first "male singers crush" and I was 12 when I first wrote Arranged and like every 12 year old, I was imagining possibilities of being with celebrities and fanfics enhance those imagination? So i want to contribute something to the fandom and let them get lost in their imagination, in my story.

5) How much research you did before writing about Zayn Malik?

5. Oh god... I was obsessed and TWELVE. That's never a good combination. I knew everything there is to know about him, with the exception of an emotional level. I think being a fangirl is equal to being a researcher ;)

6) Tell us about your book "Arranged"

6. It's basically about Zayn and this girl Zeha, who find themselves in an arranged marriage as their family kind of knew each other. Zayn had a lover though and he doesn't like the idea of being in a loveless marriage with the girl, so he and his girlfriend hatch a plan. Can't really tell you much because SPOILERS. You have to read the book to find out. (but I am reconstructing the book majorly and the plot will be more mature and structured)

7) How was readers reactions to your book? What was the best compliments you got on your book?

7. It's mixed because there are a lot of shade thrown around in the book, but mostly, it's positive feedback and sometimes people tend to forget it's fiction but I guess getting carried away in a book can both be good and bad. The best compliment I received was from one of my earlier readers. She said that I had such a beautiful way with words that it brings out emotions out of her, and as a reader myself, I know how torturing that is, but I took that as a compliment ;)

8) Your favorite character from your book and why?

8. I actually enjoy writing about Perrie and Taylor because I love writing about villains and they are my personal favorite as they stir up drama both in and out of the story. (Readers either hate or love them)

9) How do you keep your plots unpredictable without sacrificing believability?

9. As a romance writer, i believe that everyone has a different love story and at a different pace. I believe in realistic situations and I don't really aim to be unpredictable. I mean being cliché is one thing, but having the readers follow through the story is a whole different thing. I think being realistic and trying to put yourself in the pairs' shoes really helps as it can be relatable but not predictable to the readers.

10) Do you think that the cover plays an important part in getting across to readers?

10. Yes. And I was flattered because one of my readers actually did the current cover for me (and it stayed for the whole 2 years now) when I wasnt really looking for one, but i absolutely love it and it's so cute and better than the original one.

11) Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

11. "sighed" and I tend to make up long sentences and it's kind of off putting but i'm trying to work on that.

12) Message to your readers/followers

12. I LOVE YOU ALL. LIKE I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START THANKING YOU ALL. God, shoutout to the whole 2 Million lot of you guys reading the story. And I know some of you reread Arranged a lot of times ;)

Rose. Smells nice, i love red and i think it symbolizes passion and i have a thing for passion

Evenings because that's the time I unwind from a tiring day from school and I usually love writing and reading at night
