Chapter 29 - Too soon to celebrate
Kurt had been studying the movements of everybody, even though it had been dark. What? You don't just sit down in a spaceship all those years and know nothing, plus Artemis was a good source of light.
When he noticed that Frank was creeping up to the panic button, he immediately got up and said under his breath, "Not so fast punk."
He walked into a control room and headed straight for the second large screen with numerous keys on the table below. The room was quite large with different computer screens and the same futuristic decor.
Also in this room, like the hall of discussions, showed the exquisite view of space. The stars, close and distant planets and everything else.
He was already getting nervous when he looked down at the screen. "Why did I always give a flimsy excuse to not help in controlling these dang things!" Kurt said to himself.
This was the type of criminal activity that you'd need your best discretion. But for Kurt, he needed more than just that even if there were very little people in the control room.
"Marc, we've got a problem." "Why not . . . , I was . . . Expecting you . . . To call . . . Sooner," Marc replied in a sarcastic manner.
"Can I just talk." Kurt said, walking out of the control room to avoid anyone hearing his and Marc's conversation.
" . . . Speak . . . "
"The children were going haywire as expected. But, its almost over. I don't think I can hold them up much longer." Kurt said, rolling his eyes.
" . . . I only need . . . A few more . . . Minutes . . . Do something! And bring me . . . My hostage!" Marc ordered, right before he hung up.
Kurt rolled his eyes even harder.
What was he going to do now? He paced around desperately until an idea popped in his mind. He headed to the cafeteria and ordered for a cup of coffee.
"With sugar, without or with honey. Or sour, or hot, or cold, or black like a witches soul," the food lady serving him the coffee asked.
"Which is the worst around electronics," he asked. "Excuse me?" She asked in return. "My bad, just give me any one."
He hurried back to the control room but before that, he exchanged the cup containing the coffee with a bottle under a table where he knew he wouldn't be caught by the security camera.
When arrived back, the robots had already gone. From the area of their movement, it was obvious that Frank had programmed them to come to the H.O.D.
Kurt stood afar off and swung the bottle unto the controls for the robot's function, when he was sure that the robots had already gotten there.
No one was inside the control room,,because they had gone to stand guard in case the robots failed . . . Just in case. Kurt soon after joined them to avoid suspicion.

Frank leaned over to the panic button and pressed it twice. The first was to release the robots, the second time was to program them on what to do.
Suddenly after that, all forms of anger left the systems of the three boys and they powered down slowly. All that while, it was as if they were under some kind of overwhelming provocation which hey were sure was not from them.
Alak, for the first time in his life couldn't feel angry, even though he wanted to so very much.
All he could feel was emptiness, sadness and weakness. Artemis was feeling all round dizzy and also weak. What had come over him was not ordinary, he knew that normally in his right senses he wouldn't have even thought of doing that.
All he and his brothers had ever wanted was to see those figures and now, there they were, only few feet apart.
Aeo was broken to his soul that he wasn't already telling tall tales of his and his brothers' eventful life. Or let me put it as eventful few days ago.
What? He really wanted to say at least hi, or good morning or something else. Not those hurtful words they lashed.
However his parents deserved to hear those words, but not in that manner y'know.
Aunt Lina looked at the whole scenario and how everywhere was looking. She was feeling much better seeing a sobered up Artemis and not the ready to burn one.
That ability was awfully scary and she hoped her sister and brother-in-law could explain this mystery that was still unsolved to even her.
Presilda now understood that it wasn't her sons who were speaking and lashing out earlier. Her nerves were calm now and there was nothing she wanted more than to hug those boys right there.
All those years away from her children had made her hurt psychologically, emotionally and mentally. But the little adventure and drama in her life with the aliens and stuff kept her alive.
The feeling of near excitement had gotten Frank to forget about what he had just done. The only thing that made him happy was knowing that it was only a few minutes until his boys would be in his arms . . . Finally.
"Any minute now," Aeo said.
That was all it took, just those three words coming in a relaxed voice was what triggered all of them to hurry at each other and give each other a giant group hug.
"Lina, you'd better come over here right now and join this blessing," Presilda said. Lina joined them and they all hugged each and everyone of themselves.
"You have no idea how much I've wanted to do that," Artemis confessed, while hugging his Dad. "It feels so good."
Alak quickly pulled out of the hug, trying to recompose himself after feeling way to emotional and not wanting to look stupid.
He blushed nervously and coughed out when felt a million eyes watching him. "Are you guys gonna stop looking at me or what?" He said, making them all laugh.
It was when the door opened . . . Or fell off its hinges that Frank realised that he had actually pushed that panic button. "Oh, oh." He said.
The robots poured in and fired at the first unsuspecting people they detected, Artemis and Aunt Lina. They were fired with magnetic handcuffs, which pulled them instantly to the wall behind them.
Their wrists and ankles were locked to the walls and Artemis asked, "What the heck are those things!"
Presilda understood that those were the robots, but was confused as to how they got out. The robots began firing laser-like energy blasts everywhere.
They were about to get a hold of them and everyone jumped out of the way except Aeo. Instead, he yelled out a sonic scream and the robot in that area scattered about. "Wow!"" Frank said from his hiding spot at the opposite direction with Presilda and Alak.
"I know right." He said, coming to meet his Dad.
"Frank, did you let these guys loose?" Presilda asked. "You see, the thing is, I did let them loose, but I programmed them. I didn't even request this much," Frank said.
"Someone must've tampered with it. . . " Alak said.
"Yeah, but how do we take them out? What's their weakness? The dark?" Aeo asked.
"Ha! Like a professionally designed robot used for intergalactic protection and high quality missions would have a weakness. Are you hearing him Press," Frank laughed.
Presilda rolled her eyes at him and he got himself together.
"I guess I was not supposed to say that, or at least not in that manner. But anyways, the only way we can maneuver our way out of this is from the control room."
"Okay, you and Dad go do what you have to do. Mom and I'll hold them up." Alak said to Aeo.
"Okay." Aeo said as they left.
"Uh, guys this robot looks angry," Artemis said. "Use your electricity knuckle head," Alak said.
"Sorry knuckle head, BUT MY ELECTRICITY IS NOT WORKING!" Artemis shouted.
"Yes those cuffs cancel out any foreign energy. . . So, yeah his electricity ain't working'," his mom said.
"Sorry dude your on your own," Alak said. "Alak!" Presilda and Aunt Lina said. "Oops."
"Grab one of those circular topped tables and use them as a shield." Presilda said as she went to get one herself.
Alak and Presilda used the circular tables to shield themselves. Then Alak broke the leg of the table and used it to bash the robots outta the way.
"Woo! That felt good!" Alak said.
Presilda then laughed and said to no one in particular, "He got that from me!" Then she also broke a leg and bashed them out of sight, while still using the table as a shield.
Artemis and Aunt Lina both felt like their blood was being drained but in the real sense, it was actually Artemis' powers that were being cancelled and as for Aunt Lina, maybe she was only getting tired or it was sucking out her girl power.
The robots began to emit radiation that caused them to sweat everywhere. . . And yes I mean everywhere.
"Oh no, I've seen this happen before," Presilda said, but the sound of lasers and blasts made everywhere noisy.
"What did you say?" Alak asked, paying a little less attention to the robots. "I said, I've seen . . . . Oh my God, I'm sorry! Concentrate more," she said, after Alak got a little burn from the steaming bots.
"Thanks."
"So as I was saying, I've seen this happen before. If these robots go hotter than this, their gonna blow up the entire ship." "Oh man, Dad and Aeo had better hurry up before we blow up!" Artemis said. "Calm down. Their going to fix it it okay?" Aunt Lina reassured and Presilda smiled.

"Wow, this is a sick control room. Is it just for those robots?" Aeo asked. "Nope. A bunch of other things need control apart from the robots," Frank said.
Frank looked at the screen that was glitching and started pressing the buttons on the table. Aeo just watched closely as his pro Dad did his work. It only made him imagine that that was his dad's work on earth and it was bring your son to work day.
His dad's keen brownish blue eyes were focused on the screen and a stylish smirk climbed at of Aeo's mouth.
"So what're you doing actually?" Aeo questioned on.
"You see, it looks like the robots were reprogrammed from this control exactly," Frank said. "Wow, the security around here is not exactly 100% y'know?" Aeo said.
"What do you, argh!" Frank yelped.
"Now what happened?" "The keys just started shocking me all of a sudden." Frank said stepping back.
"That can't be good. But are you sure this was a reprogramming or something else?" Aeo said.
"Yeah, or maybe not."
