Chapter 27 - Mixed emotions

Aeo dusted off his back and said;

"Whatever, didn't hurt." "Are you sure . . ." Alak and Artemis chorused, stating at the hole in Aeo's shirt. Aeo didn't mind their staring, he was actually changing into a different person because of the issues on ground.

In fact, they had all changed.

Aeo was usually a very I don't care kind of person and now, all he did was care. He needed to end this quick and stop caring. So when his brothers stared at him, he didn't even bother looking back to see the cause of the staring even if it was evidently coming from him.

"Yes, let's go on with the plan," he replied. "Cool,  do you hear any guards approaching? Sound man," Alak asked.

"Funny you should at that, brainiac," Aeo fired back , air clogging the word brainiac.

"Would you just do it." Artemis said. "Okay . . . Looks like we're in luck. About two of em are making their way here. Let's get them by surprise."

"Yeah!" They said in agreement.

The three huddled to corners and waited for the guards to get to a certain point ahead of them. But these guys didn't look like guards, they were just some of those ones in their jumpsuit uniforms.

"Those aren't guards," Artemis said. "I know, I can hear not see. But it makes it easier, they don't have weapons." Aeo answered.

Alak was standing some steps away from them, and when he thought he was close enough, he stepped out and said with immense focus;

"Take us to the King and Queen."

The other one stared in awe and disbelief as his second started  going to the King and Queen. "I'm you don't even know these kids and you're just taking them to private parts of the ship."

Aeo was about to say something but Artemis have him the , 'let me do the talking.'

"We are actually very reputable aliens, very fluent in English as you are hearing and we must see your King and Queen immediately to make a truce concerning  . . . Um alien stuff. I can't tell you confidential information."

"How reputable are you huh? What are you even called? And if you're so reputable as you say, take a look at your friend there with the hole in his shirt," The man said. "And your other friend you doesn't seem to k is how to talk again."

Artemis was getting nervous on the spot and immediately, when no one was looking, zapped the man in the neck.

"Nice work. Now try not to do that when you see our parents," Aeo said jokingly.

"Guys . . . We're approaching an area of . . . Hoo . . . Lots of  . . . People," Alak said struggling to breathe. "Tell him to take another route."

"Hey, um, Mr dude sir, can you take us through another route that isn't, um filled with moving people?" "Of course I'd take you through them," the man said.

"Noooo! Alak, what's going on? We're supposed to go away from them not through them." Artemis asked.

"You both are," he replied.

"What? How?" Artemis said.

"I'm not concentrating enough." Alak said. "So how's that our fault?" Artemis argued. During the argument, Aeo was feeling tense. "Guys please stop!" But they didn't listen to him. Instead they roared on at each other.

"Excuse me, let me just . . . " Aeo heard. The voice was sounding so clear and familiar. "Artemis, Alak I'm picking something up," Aeo said, already smiling happily.

"This is not the time for lying, I've got to put big daddy in his lil' place," Artemis yelled on.

The thought of the voice made Aeo think;

That's the same voice from the voice box . . . . That's, . . . Mom. Aeo thought.

Alak controlled Artemis to slap himself hard and did of course. "Why did you that?" Aeo said.

"Sorry Aeo, but I have to put my lil' bro in his lil' place," Alak said, mocking the words Artemis had only just said.

The voice now became voices and the area sounded so rowdy and noisy. A part of him wanted to hear the sounds even more and another wanted to stop the sounds.

If I could only follow the sounds . . .

His brothers were not making matters better on the contrary, they were constituting nuisance and making a hell of noise.

"Will you guys just, SHUT UP!!!" He yelled on top of his lungs and they teleported to exactly were he was hearing the voices, leaving the man who brought them there unconscious . . . What he was already unconscious when Alak stopped controlling him.

* * * * * * * * *

. . . . "Who are dose liddle mizcreantz, " the French lady asked in disgust.

"Mom . . . , Dad?" Aeo said, happily, sadly, surprised, scared-almost, and in tears which were joyfully escaping his eye sacs. Alak and Artemis looked round, wondering how they had gotten inside were they were.

She's the one from the photo. Aeo thought aloud.

"Yeah, from that picture," Alak said. But as soon as he said that a different type of feeling came over him.

Frank turned back and his mouth automatically fell down. He tapped Presilda's shoulder, she wasn't aware of the presence of the wanderers behind her but when she turned to see what happened she said; "Kids?!" Before she fell to the ground.

"MOM!" Aeo and Artemis screamed.

The League of Presidents looked blankly in awe as the whole scenario pulled off.

"Tā hái hâo ma," A Chinese man said under his breath, maybe to one of his reps, when everyone else looked. "Yes, um please this meeting is canceled . . . I mean um . . . Adjourned, " Frank said, reading off the translation from the tablet in front of him, the same that was in front of everyone at the table.

"Trixx, teleport," he said. "But we didn't fini-" the stupid French lady was saying before she pixelated away along with the others.

Artemis and Aeo pulled up their mum to the chair behind her. It as if Artemis was staring at his reflection of let me say a female version of him.

His mom had his hair and merely looking at her half closed eyes he could see her ever green eyes and knew were his ivy green eyes came from.

Alak on the other hand looked like his Dad. And Aeo looked a little bit like both of them.

A sudden feeling of not wanting to see the two human beings standing in front of him washed through Alak's system. He stayed put with his hands folded.

Frank held Presilda up, brought out a tube-like object and pressed the button on it, allowing a bluish mist to fill her lungs. He let her sit up to rest.

"I literally can't believe it, you're finally here," he said as the years he had been fighting finally poured like a fan that had just destroyed.

Presilda woke up slowly an smiled at the presence of her children.

Fading memories were becoming clearer now. About seventeen years back when her first child was formed and taken away.

All the times she stole her way into the lab containing the incubator of her child. The times she was punished for doing so. The Times she felt like holding him in her hands.

She could visibly remember them, those disgusting slimy balls who created two more of she and Frank and still kept them away.

How sweet her revenge was, when she destroyed those pieces of trash, when they became their leaders and could now protect themselves against any other vice.

This feeling felt almost too good to be true, but looking at them again have her the assurance that she needed to know that those were not shape shifting aliens.

However, as soon as she looked at Alak, he looked away rudely. "Can you please round up with your chit chat guys, we've gotta go home. Aunt Lina would be worried," he said.

An air of insecurity hit the faces of the three boys and they felt uneasy. Their countenance changed almost immediately and their faces said it all. Presilda already felt better and got up.

"What wrong kids? Are you not happy to see us?" She asked.

"Happy?!?!" Artemis said. "Do you even know our names? He asked.

"Excuse me, but that is rude mister," Frank objected.

Only saying tue word rude made Alak lose his mind. "Rude!?! You left me for all the seventeen years of my life and now you call me rude? Pls give me a break Frank and Presilda," he said. The dude was not feeling his emotions, they were all mixed up in his head.

Frank and his wife could not grasp the information they were hearing. Weren't they happy only a few seconds ago?

Kurt, the supervisor walked into the office and immediately spotted that everything was not okay.

He silently tiptoed backwards and watched from a good distance what was going on.

"You weren't there to celebrate our lives. You didn't show up any of my birthdays. Not when I was 4 or 8 or 12 or 6 or 10 or EVER!" Artemis screamed and his electricity flared up.

It started sparking ferociously, powerfully surprising both parents. They were not shocked by the attitude of their kids but what was coming out of Artemis was not ordinary.

Kurt watched closely and when the sparks came our from the hiding place he smiled. He hurriedly picked up his phone and dialed a number.

"Marc." He said.

"Go on . . ." Marc answered.

"It's happening. Their here and their not normal people. Looks like your plan worked," Kurt continued.

"Brilliant . . . Time for phase . . . Two. Keep me . . . Posted . . . On their . . . Status . . ."

"Fine, but hurry up. I don't wanna be fried by that kid."

"Whatever . . . All I need . . . Is the hostage."

"Sorry, did you say hostage? Because the hostage to be  is here," Kurt said nervously.

"Idiot . . . Why do I . . . bother explaining . . . Anything to you . . . If you're still . . . gonna mess up . . . Numb skull!" Marc echoed. "Bring that hostage back here ASAP."

"Yes sir." Kurt said, hanging up. "What am I going to do now?"

Back inside, things were still not okay. "You were never there when we needed parents. We lived around like goddamn orphans!" Aeo exclaimed.

"We had very good reasons for doing this," Presilda said. "Of course, reasons more important than us," Aeo continued.

"No, that's not what I me-"

"Are you still talking? Are you supposed to open your mouths to say shit?" Alak shouted on. "Did you never learn to respect your elders?" Presilda complained some more.

"Oh, after all these years without a single visit, explanation, an invite or even a phone call, you come up here and question our lives?"

Presilda felt really stupid and helpless to everything her children were saying, mainly because it was true. But she didn't let her guard down.

"SHUT UP!" She screamed.
