Chapter 24 - The Heist
As soon as Aeo fell into the portal, he tried to camouflage in because the people walking around there looked serious and if they spotted him, it wouldn't be a good thing.
He ran as fast as he could to a corner and dropped to catch his breath. But when he heard some voices coming closer to him, his heart almost fell out his chest.
His eyes met a trolley table covered with a white sheet all the way down and immediately leapt under it.
Hopefully the sheets would hide him at least until when the chit-chatters left. The voices were getting closer and closer till Aeo looked through the sheets and saw two ladies in matching white jumpsuits.
They didn't seem to have anything else to do because they chatted like they were in vacation.
"Hahaha, oops! We'd better get this table to the King and Queen's office." One said.
Aeo moved uncomfortably inside but tried to stay as still as possible. He was gripped with fear.
I didn't know Elizabeth's office was right next door. He thought.
The voices and footsteps faded out and a few seconds later he realised that they took another table . . .

Alak bent over to knee level and picked up the remote.
"This was obviously what made that wall he fell into," he said. Artemis wasn't paying attention to that, but the disc like device and the many letters that were scattered there.
He picked up the device and pressed the button on it. "No! . . . Oh, um, sorry," Alak said but apologized when nothing but a message played.
"This information must be very important for Aeo to have been here," Artemis said, holding out the disc so they could both hear.
'Lina, what happened today was very dangerous and irresponsible of you! Why would you let them out of your sight?
Do you know what could have happened to them if they messed around on the spaceship? . . .
I really don't mean to speak to you this way, but I was really scared they brought them to us.
We are not safe up there we still have enemies, and them knowing this much about us is not the best idea. Frank is going crazy over here. . .
And we're working things out with people that saw them. Please don't let this happen again,And please get the remote out of their reach.
Love you, sisters for life.
At the end of the message, Artemis' head was filled with so many theories. But to Alak everything made sense to him now.
"So, we were on that spaceship. And now I'm certain that those kids that were mentioned in that letter were three of us," he said confidently.
Aunt Lina walked in unsuspecting, looking all tired and rusty and said, "I don't know what's going on here but can you guys please leave my room? I wanted to speak with you all but I can't seem to find Aeo . . .So"
She stopped mid-sentence immediately when she saw the letters and remote and disc and everything else she thought was secretly kept. "What are you guys doing with those things?" She asked.
"Aunt Lina we're so sorry for the invasion of privacy," Alak began.
"But can you explain what's up with message from . . . I'm guessing, my mum?" Artemis continued.
There was no controlling this time, she was going to say this one on her own.
"Guys you're not supposed to know this, but before you say anything . . . I'm gonna say it. I feel you should not be left in the dark anymore." She said.
As she explained every word bit by bit, the boys could see how everything happened. Though they didn't actually see it physically. The voice message made even more sense now that she gave them details.
When she finished, Alak and Artemis looked at each other and then Alak said happily. "This confirms it. We were on the spaceship . . . And this remote can take us there!"
"Yes it can, but please drop it right now before anything uncalled for happens," Aunt Lina said. She knew they weren't going to listen so she got prepared to grab it from him.
"I'm sorry I have to make history repeat itself, Aunt Lina," Alak said, as he clicked the remote almost instantly.
"No!" She exclaimed as Alak grabbed Artemis and the two boys jumped into the portal. Not even the remote dropped.

"Stop right there!" A guard looking man said as soon as they jumped in. "Um, no we just got here and we uh, like . . . Want to see the King and Queen?" Artemis said, trying to argue his way out the mess they had just jumped into.
"Oh no you don't," the guard said moving closer. The other one with him said.
Both brothers positioned into a fighting stance, but of course these guards were nothing like Johnny o the guy Artemis had a fight with in the third grade.
Their level of inexperience could not match the guards level of experience.
Artemis' palms were already charging with electricity when the guard did an amazing cartwheel front flip and locked their wrists in handcuffs.
"Way to go," the second guard said.
"I know right. All that practice actually paid off. So what's up you guys? Who sent you?"
"No one actually. We told we're here to see your King and Queen." Artemis said again.
"I don't trust them. They seem like thieves or something . . ." The second guard said. "No, they can't be. They're way too inexperienced."
"What? Who's he calling inexperienced?" Alak said under his breath.

"Good job landing me in prison at the early years of my life," Artemis whined. Alak simply rolled his eyes at his immature gesture.
"I can't believe I'm here already," Alak said. "I had always known that I was going to jail but not now, I was hoping it'll be when I'm 18 and above."
"Really Alak, you couldn't have gone on your own. I mean it was so simple."
"You know what else was so simple? You not following me. You could've said you can go on your own, I'm such a chicken to follow you," Alak said in a mocking voice.
"Oh, like you have me a choice. You practically held my hand into the portal. Let's find a way to get outta here." Artemis said.
"Okay Mr..Einstein, show me the way!" Alak exclaimed.
"Shut the hell up you poop face!" Artemis yelled. They continued exchanging words until Artemis said;
"I have no idea why you couldn't tell Aunt Lina so she could give our parents a call or something . . . " "Did you hear yourself?" Alak asked, breaking a half smile across his right cheek.
"It sounded better in my head-"
"I accept I may or may not have made a mistake but what would you have done? You heard what Aunt Lina said about what they did to us, their just gonna wipe our memories again," Alak explained.
"I'm sorry too for nagging but for now, let's figure out how to get outta here and fast . . . . . . . "

Aeo walked on, looking for places to hide from time to time. "Dang it, Queen Elizabeth's castle is so large. I always thought it was more vintage styled. But this is . . ." Aeo said sarcastically.
He knew fully well that he wasn't in Queen Elizabeth's palace but he was obviously somewhere else. But where?
For a second he thought he was dreaming and then when he tripped and fell, he knew he wasn't dreaming.
He heard those same ladies chatting again just around the corner. "Can't they keep shut," he said silently.
As he crept around some more, he arrived at a door. Almost immediately, the door opened and a young man came out. He was also in that same jumpsuit. Must've been their uniform.
That place looked so empty and it would have been a great place to hide for a while, at least he could get some information maybe.
As the man was about to close the door, Aeo picked up some metal lying on the ground and flung it across the hall, making the man hurry to where he heard the sound and left the door slightly open.
Aeo sneakingly slipped into the open door and he left it few inches away from closing so he could get out later. The door led to a sort of long lines hall and when he looked to his sides, they were arrayed cells, with some insane looking creatures.
Aeo could feel his skin crawling, so he hurried on.
Another hall was tagged 'Intruders' with an odd writing underneath it. They weren't even words.
He went into that chamber and it was kinda lacking actual prisoners. Although they looked more like science experiments.
I always knew that spaceships were awesome, but this one packs a punch.
"Oh my days," he said when he set his eyes on the most disgusting creatures he had ever laid eyes on.
He then spotted some humans who looked exactly like Alak and Artemis . . . Or were they?
"Hmm! Must be those shape shifting aliens . . . I'll hate to be those losers," Aeo snickered under his breath.

"Okay, why don't you try mind controlling the guy that put is in here, to get us outta here," Artemis suggested. Alak hesitated for a split second and said;
"Well . . . I already tried and it didn't work," Alak said.
His brother could sense his lie right there and said, "Really?" He remarked with just the right amount of sarcasm.
"Yes." "Well I don't believe you, or should I say please do it again."
Alak tried to on the image of the guard by closing his eyes. He diverted his mind control and sought to see through the eyes of the guard instead.
He searched round and he caught the image of . . . Aeo?
The familiar form of the white kicks he was putting on and skinny jeans have him away.
"What do you see? Are you getting him? Alak?" Artemis said desperately.
Suddenly, Alak's head began to ting and his veins were more obvious than the statue of liberty in New York. When he started turning green Artemis shouted to snap him out of it.
"Stop!"
"Alak?" Aeo said softly.
Was that predictable? I tried to make it the opposite all along.
There's more adventure coming in the next chapter.
Let's see how they find their way around the spaceship. (The truth Aunt Lina told them was what went down in the prologue).
