Chapter 21 - Boys are Bad!
Aunt Lina felt the tingling urge to leave where she was with Corey and go home. "Corey, I'm really sorry but I feel a little uneasy," she said as she made her way to the balcony in her night dress.
Corey approached her and held her around her waist and they stared at the starry night sky. "We've been friends for a long time and I've seen you bring the brave lady you are and-" he was saying before Lina cut him off.
"I know, and I'm guessing you're about to say that I've had no time to myself since I had to take care of my nephews." She said.
"Yeah, but I know that and . . . You know, just stay here a bit okay? Don't worry, their going to be okay," Corey assured.
"Fine. And I don't want you always saying that most of my life was used up taking care of the kids-" she said and then buried her head on his chest. His muscular build was enough protection for her at that moment.

Aeo came downstairs later on and stopped by at Alak's room to see Artemis. "Can you come downstairs please?" "O . . . Kay?" Artemis replied weirdly.
Aeo jotted to the living room where his stupid brother - Alak was. "I think we should get back to investigating," he said. "Yeah, I was getting tired already," Alak said.
"Wasn't talking to you. Anyways, what is necessary now is we find the dang root of these dang powers."
"Finally." Artemis said.
"As noticed, the normal ones among are getting advancements to our powers; Artemis had electricity originally and now super lightning speed as an advancement . . . " Aeo began, but Alak has to stop him right there,
"And what do you have smarty?" "I'd like to have you know that I do have an upgrade-" Aeo said.
"Oh yeah? What is it?"
"I've got enhanced hearing abilities or so it seems," Aeo replied. "Awesome, what've you heard so far?" Artemis asked. "That's the only reason why we're here," Aeo said.
Artemis felt a little more enthusiastic about the whole new upgrades. It actually made him think for just a little that their was not such a bad thing.
"Besides, this means that only Alak doesn't have an advancement."
"Now that's where you're wrong, I do have an advancement," Alak said. "Mmm hmmm," Aeo mumbled.
"Yes. Mind control is my advancement."
"Ha! So I'm guessing your original power was being a stupid jerk."
"Aeo, please stop being so spiteful," Artemis said. "So, Alak was your original power." "Aeo, I'm sorry for what happened earlier okay. So my original power was seek through people's eyes, " Alak said.
"Really?" Aeo questioned.
"I said I was sorry. And yes I actually saw through Aunt Lina's eyes in her dream. You remember right? When you, you know almost roaste-" Alak said.
"Alright I remember. Ugh! You don't have to bring back evil memories," Artemis said.
"Well isn't that cool," Aeo said sarcastically. "I called us here to tell you I heard something, or at least I think I did. It was a convert between Aunt Lina and Corey."
"So what did they say?" Alak asked.
"I was getting to that part. The point is, Corey feels Aunt Lina shouldn't come home or simply put, he is not letting her come home soon."
"Why's that?" Artemis asked. Why wouldn't he let her come home. "You know what I'm starting hate this Corey guy-" Artemis said, then Alak have him that look.
"Ok fine. I never liked him, but this is just unbelievable."
"He says Aunt Lina hasn't had a moment to herself since we arrived," Aeo said, making the other's countenance drop instantly.
"I know what we're doing seems bad but, it's for a good cause. So I'm gonna get her to come home," Alak said.
"Did what I say mean nothing to you? Don't control her to come back. She'll come on her own, just give her some time," Aeo said. "We might not have another chance, Aeo."
"Fine. But aren't you feeling weak?" Aeo asked.
"Nope," Alak said and immediately fell to the ground.

Aunt Lina rolled uncontrollably on the bed, which was absurd giving how soft the bed was. It was almost as if she was in a horrible nightmare. She sat on the bed and drank a full glass of water in almost one gulp.
Her eyes travelled across the room and landed on Corey. She watched as he slept so calmly with his features consisting of the pinkest and softest lips that spread in a small smile on his face were ever so evident.
Lina could only imagine how he slept so peacefully. Wasn't that piercing air hitting his skin? Or wasn't he feeling that presence?
She didn't want to disturb her boyfriend's enviable slumber, so she silently kicked in her shoes grabbed her purse and was about heading out before the light sleeper woke.
"Baby Lulu where are you heading to? And at this time?" he inquired, turning on his phone to check the time.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't feeling good?" She answered.
"What do you mean?" Corey asked, not understanding what was being said.
"I don't know. I'm just far from comfortable because-" "The kids. I understand. But at least let me take you. It's very dangerous out there." Corey said, scratching the sleep out of his eye.
"You didn't think I was going to walk all the home did you?" Lina playfully asked.
"Oh yeah, how were you planning on getting home?" Corey said.
"Your car of course!" She laughed, making him jump at her playfully. He then went in to change and they both left for the driveway.

After Alak woke up from his blackout, he felt a lot better and wanted to continue the investigation. "Aeo, we're running out of time. Let me just bring her home," he said.
"She's already on her way. I told you all she needs was time," Aeo said. "But that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun, does it?"
"What are you trying to say, Alak?" Artemis asked.
"You guys know how much Aunt Lina never having Hawaiian style pizza?" Alak said.
Aeo wanted to object but the sound of Hawaii and that delicious blend of fruit and meat made his mouth water right from inside. "So what do you guys think?" Alak said, knowing fully well that Aeo was sure to break.
"I'm in." Artemis said, not wasting time.
"What about you Aeo? Oh, never mind." "I didn't even say anything," Aeo debated. "Does that mean you're in as well?" Alak asked.
"No. Yes, I mean . . . If you can do it. Wait, who am I kidding, of course yes. But only if you can," Aeo said.
"Are you in?" Alak asked, straightforwardly.
"Let's face it, not even your mind control can male her do that. She hates the combination of pineapple and meat and-" Aeo's aim was obviously not to belittle his brother's capability, but to make it happen.
"And shut up," Alak said, finishing his brother's sentence. "I'm only saying the truth."
"Enough with the chit chat. Let's do this."
Alak pulled out his phone and face timed with Aunt Lina. "Hey Alak, I'm almost home," She said.
"That's great . . . , um, get us some Hawaiian pizza on your way home okay?" "Why not?"
The excitement they all felt was immeasurable as jumped all around singing joyfully: "We havin' pi - zza, Hawaiian pi - zza! We havin' pi - zza, Hawaiian pi - zza!"
"Alright, alright, now that we're eating Hawaiian pizza, let's not forget our goal okay?" Aeo said. "Right, but don't you guys feel like it's kind of a bad thing we're controlling Aunt Lina? I mean she has mind of her own, " Artemis sort of objected.
"Its only a matter of time Artemis, and then she'll tell us what's wrong. Or don't you wanna know the truth?" Alak asked.
"Yeah I do but tell if you'll like if you don't move your arms and legs on your own accord," Artemis said.
"I no it's wrong and . . . Ok I promise then we find out the truth, no more controlling," Alak said.
That was a pretty tricky response cos, how long was it until they found out the truth? Was there even a truth to uncover? Patience was all that was necessary at that moment.

When Corey and Lina got to the house, Lina said, "Thanks Corey . . . Um, can you walk me to the door?"
"Why? No offence, but you've always preferred to go yourself," Corey said, not understanding why she said that.
"Just a dream, you know. A really dreamy dream," Aunt Lina said as flashing images of her nightmare came flooding back.
Walking down the lawn again under a full moon frightened her and she held on to Corey's hand tightly.
"Looks like someone's been dreaming of me," "Would you just help with the pizza? "
"Okay love bug," Corey said. He looked at her and seemed to feel her tension.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked. "Yes, I . . . Uh, I'm ok."
Only a few more moments till the hour of triumph!
