Chapter 2 - Getting to know them 2
Artemis actually thought it was a real relationship but it only existed to make Nia's boyfriend jealous. And it all went south when her boyfriend broke up with her.
Artemis tried to be nice and console her but she blamed him for her misfortune.
This time he was much more 'experienced' and he was having a change of environment so he was giving dating another chance. . .literally.
Aeo the smallest was also the smartest of the three and he didn't brag about it. Instead, sometimes he actually regretted it because they depended solely on him for answers but he wasn't some kind of machine.
He should have been the most affected because at his old school, he wasn't insulted for being smart. He wasn't called a nerd or a geek, rather they gave him a name which didn't actually sound like an insult but only made sound like an Oracle when he was called.
Though everyone knew him, he didn't socialize well enough, so this was a new platform for him to free himself and make new friends.
There was just one problem. For a long time he had trouble getting his voice heard. I mean some didn't have his time, others would just snob him.
He developed a stern care free - 'I DON'T CARE ' attitude which was mainly because ever since he was little, he had trouble getting his voice heard.
Other than that he was simply just a natural at pointing out people's mistakes in a really funny way that made his brothers think him annoying.
But they're sometimes really just harmless.
So basically, this was another opportunity for all of them. Aeo was also jealous of Artemis but it was more of envy than jealousy because he was Aunt Lina's favorite and he always got excessive consolation from her after every 'failed relationship. '
But he got to understand that he was just not getting a chance with the girls.
The drive to school would have seemed short but they hardly said a word to each other. So it was as if it dragged on and on and on. Aeo wasn't satisfied with the music playing so he plugged in his headphones and listened to his own jams. They all stared at him 'cos his humming was louder than their silence.
They all said their goodbyes to their Aunt and they all stood still outside the car facing the school. She wound down the glass and said with a smile, "You'd do great!"
There they were, standing by the gates of Willoughby High. A wind of nervousness hit their faces but they shook it off. Alak was still all moody about the whole thing.
"So...we're exchange huh. Let's see how it goes," Alak said walking slowly forward and looking around. The school's features where a modernized version, luckily.
Very huge it was with a long football pitch and a expertly designed mass of land. There were posters of the football team name 'Willy Foxes ' and the mascot which was a fox.
"Suit yourselves, I'm going in. See ya by the end of the day," Alak said.
"Um...!" Artemis demanded.
"Fine let's go," Alak said.
"There are a lot things you can try out, Aeo," Artemis said. "Not interested," Aeo responded.
"But you'd like it. They've got a lot of after school clubs and awesome features that you'll love," Artemis said. "You should be telling this to Alak. He knows the least about the school... He didn't even know we were coming to this school not until today," Aeo said, driving Artemis' attention away from him.
"Come on Aeo, give it a shot. You're great at chess and scrabble club and other things too. I'm sure you'd get the hang of it," Alak said.
"Actually the chess and scrabble club are different," Artemis pointed out.
"Could you try not to make this a bad moment. Aeo let's go get the schedule," Alak said noticing a girl passing by. He then have a smile to himself.
"Whatever," Aeo replied .
"Hey I'm gonna get mine to....." Artemis said seeing the girl approaching. "What? Cat bit your tongue?" Alak asked as they reached the front desk , leaving Artemis outside.
Alak was about going to call him in when Aeo gestured for him to let him be.
Artemis stood still then adjusted his outfit as the head cheerleader passed by him.
"Hi," she waved and walked by. "Hey!" He waved as well. She smiled and not her lip until she faded out of sight.
A guy with dark skin and black hair came up to Artemis and touched his jaw, slowly closing it. "What's got you drooling?" He said. Artemis wiped a stud of saliva off the edge of his lip. "Oh thanks, but it's just a stud," he said smiling.
"I'm Elias. You are?" Elias said. "Artemis Mon..." Artemis said. "First name's okay." "Tems for short anyway," Artemis said.
"Ok, by the way I was only admiring that cheerleader who just walked past," Artemis said. "Who, you mean Nora?" Elias asked. "I guess?" "They're all going crazy for her."
Artemis chuckled.
"And if you want her to like you, you'd better not let that drool.... You know," Elias said. "Noted. Thanks by the way, I'm off to get my schedule, see ya,"
"Wait up!" Elias called. "You're new here right? Never seen you around." "Yeah, just moved here," Artemis said.
"Ok, see you then," Elias said as he began to head into the building. Artemis knew he should have said he needed help before, but it wasn't too late. "Elias?" He called. Elias turned to see Artemis hurrying up to him.
"Yeah?" Elias answered.
