108 Facts About Ninjago Geneations

Hey guys it's Awesomespecs21 here! I am so thankful that Ninjago Generations book one is now in the top 10 Ninjago fan fictions. I put this together as a special surprise for all the people that love the series.

So I have come up with 108 facts about the entire Generations series. Fact number 108 features a special announcement about an upcoming project, but please read all of them because I worked hard on this. Thanks and enjoy my 108 facts about Ninjago Generations!

General facts:

#1: Ninjago Generations is a story created by me, Awesomespecs21, written as a continuation of my favorite show Ninjago where the ninja are much older and have taken on the challenges of parenthood.

#2: the original title was Ninjago: Next Generation, but that was taken so it was changed to just Ninjago: Generations.

#3: As of right now, the series consists of 3 parts, (two completed, one ongoing) a prequel (Will You Be My Yang) and a mini story (True Potentials). All of these are canon to the story.

#4: Another version of this story is called Ninjago Generations: Alternative Universe. In this one all of the characters are the same, except that Ryder is the son of Lloyd and Harumi instead of Kira.

#5: The AU plot was supposed to be the overall plot for the original series, but I decided to ship Lloyd with an OC to go with a more light-hearted approach.

#6: The AU version also has a prequel called "I Can Hear You!" It takes place during the three years Lloyd was in a coma, caused by Harumi during an assassination attempt while kidnapping Ryder to do her bidding.

#7: I consider "I Can Hear You" to be my greatest achievement as a writer because it was difficult to write with Lloyd being unconscious and not being able to communicate with anyone.

#8: Another prequel was planned for the series to happen right before part 2 that would focus on the villain kids' origin stories. This series never happened because part 2 was already half way done before I had time to create it.

#9: The series would have been called "Born to be Bad" and would have one to two chapters for each member of the VKA. Eventually I decided to incorporate tiny pieces of their stories into the original instead.

#10: I also have a lot of non-canon books that go along with the series. These include "Ninjago Generations: School Stories" and my series of one-shots.

#11: The series takes place a few years after season 10 of Ninjago, March of the Oni, but every season afterwards is not canon to anything that happens. This is mostly because this was the last season completed at the time the first chapter had been released.

#12: In spite of that, I do try to incorporate elements from the later seasons as the canon series goes on, like the inclusion of the scroll of the forbidden spinjitsu in the chapter, "The Next Plan of Attack" in Part 2.

#13: The chapter "Open Arms" in part 2 was originally dedicated to a friend of mine who I thought passed away in a car accident. Turns out he faked his death on Twitter, so the dedication was removed.

#14: Matt was almost renamed Jake in his honor, but luckily that didn't end up happening.

#15: In the beginning of the series, none of the ninja have real jobs except for Kai and Skylor who ran the noodle shop. The mayor gives each family a weekly payment in exchange for all the work they've done for Ninjago.

#16: In the AU version, all of the ninja have day jobs because I wanted to give them more challenges.

#17: The very first draft of the first chapter, "Ryder" was written in a movie script format. It was changed one day before being published. (And that's also why there's so many typos and grammatical errors in it. 🙃)

#18: There are over 30 OC's in the span of Generations if you consider all of the additions to the story.

#19: The latest main character OC added into the story was Ethan Montgomery Garmardon. The next ones will be Cole and Seliel's unborn twins.

#20: I actually have assigned voice actors for almost all of my OC's in the series. You can actually read them in the chapter right before this of the story you are reading right now.

#21: While the Yin-Yang promise is not a proposal for marriage in the actual show, in this fan fiction I decided to make it how the ninja get engaged.

#22: The chapter "Garmadon Family Reunion" in book 1 was originally written to not include Ryder in the cave with Lloyd and Garmadon. The chapter was completed, but I needed it to go in a different direction for later chapters, so I rewrote the entire chapter.

#23: You can read the original version of this chapter in my Generations Short Stories book. It is no longer considered part of the generations canon, but it's still a fun read.

#24: The ninja still have their powers after their kids are born, but the more the kids grow up, the weaker the powers get for the parents. That's why the ninja can form dragons in the first book, but they all have cars in the third one.

#25: All of the ninja kids get some kind of change in their bodies before getting their elemental powers. It usually comes off as a sickness as some kind. These are called elemental fevers.

Garmadon Family Facts:

#26: Kira, who is Lloyd's sweetheart in the series, is my favorite OC I have come up with. I based her off of the girlfriend I always wanted Lloyd to have in the actual show. He deserves to be happy.

#27: The reason I created Kira as Lloyd's partner was because season 11 was not fully complete at the point I started writing it, which meant I had no idea who Akita was at that time. I didn't want to ship him with Harumi or any other existing character, so that lead me to create Kira.

#28: Kira knows spinjitsu. She is a quick study and she learned from watching the other ninja over the years.

#29: In the AU version, Kira has the elemental power of healing. She is also seen with this power in some of my other fanfics, including "Hello, Brother" and "The Curse."

#30: Also in the AU version, Kira has a job as a nurse. While she never actually went to school for it, her healing powers and knowledge she got from her grandmother were enough to let her pass all the tests needed to get the job.

#31: Ashley's healing powers are limited. She can relieve pain and heal minor injuries, but she can only do this for a minutes before they get tired and warn out. This can lead to disastrous consequences if she isn't careful. (The same goes for Kira in the AU)

#32: Kira's grandmother was also the elemental master of healing, and that is where Ashley's power comes from in the original version.

#33: Llira is a canon ship name for Lloyd and Kira made up by fans. It is actually said by Cole in the chapter "The Reunion" in the first book.

#34: Kira is actually 3 years older than Lloyd's original age and 2 years younger than his advanced age caused by the tomorrow's tea. I did this so that no one would have a problem with the age difference thing.

#35: Growing up only childs, Kira and Lloyd let their kids call the other ninja Aunts and Uncles and consider their kids as their cousins, even though they aren't biologically related.

#36: I ran a baby name contest to come up with Ashley's name. Before her name was officially decided, I used Roxy as a placeholder for her name.

#37: Lloyd and Kira call Ashley "sunshine" because as a baby, the song "you are my sunshine" was the only song that would get her to sleep or calm down.

#38: Ryder's favorite food is pancakes and he likes to eat them with syrup and blueberries. It has been his favorite since he could eat solid food.

#39: Lloyd is very overprotective of Ryder because he's trying to make sure he has the childhood he never got to have.

#40: Misako treats Kira as the daughter she never had, and Kira sees her as the mother she never had, even though she prefers to call her by her actual name instead of Mom.

#41: Kira is the daughter of Dr. Yost, who is a real character mentioned in the Sons of Garmadon episode "Dead Mans Squall." Misako was a friend of his and tells Kira all kinds of stories about her father.

#42: Kira was in fact pregnant with Ashley when she went to look for the teapot of Tyran, but it was very early and she didn't know. When trapped in the lamp, it froze them both in time, so neither of them aged. When she finally got out, that's when she realized she was pregnant. So Ashley was in the womb for over 3 years, but didn't grow while in the lamp.

#43: Kira was actually pregnant when she and Lloyd were kidnapped by Akamu, which is why she was getting sick while in the jail cell. Luckily Akamu didn't know that and didn't hit her in the stomach.

Smith family facts:

#44: Kai and Skylor were the only couple to get pregnant before getting married in the original series. In the AU, Lloyd was also expecting before the marriage with Harumi, and then later with Kira.

#45: Trent's name was also the result of a baby name contest. Trent's placeholder name was Casey until the contest was concluded.

#46: While Trent is the only one to not have any elemental powers, he makes up for it by being Samurai X, much like his aunt Nya.

#47: Trent was born a month late, but his lungs were underdeveloped. As a result, he has asthma and carries an inhaler with him at all times.

#48: Amber and Allison are dating. They started after their first kiss following Amber's true potential.

#49: Kai was actually relieved when he found out about Amber's relationship, as he was worried about boys messing around with his only daughter.

#50: Kai is so good at taking care of babies because he raised Nya on his own. He has actually given parenting tips to all the other ninja as their families grew bigger.

#51: Trent and Ashley are meant to be, even if they don't realize it yet.

#52: Amber's personality is based on my older sister. She is much more mature than her brothers and is constantly asking Skylor for a little sister, to which Skylor always answers no.

#53: Blake is really good at basketball. Some of this is focused on in the school stories story.

#54: Blake originally had a basketball playing girlfriend. There wasn't enough room to make this a thing, but I hope I will find a way to make fit it in somewhere in the future.

Brookstone family facts:

#55: Allison calls Amber ginger snap because of her red hair. (Bonus fact: my irl boyfriend also has red hair and I call him ginger snap as well.)

#56: Allison was the one who came up Amber and Allison's ship name, Amberson. It started as a best friendship name, but it morphed into something more.

#57: The Brookstone family is the closest thing to a military family in the series, with Seliel constantly in Nom helping her father with the village for the majority of the first book. The chapter, "Seliel's Visit" was officially dedicated to military families.

#58: After Kirby Marrow's death, a character was created in memory of him. He is Cole's biological half brother who was adopted into a another family. He lived with the Brookstones for a short time.

#59: Allison possesses super strength along with her father's Earth powers. She is also a tomboy who enjoys mountain climbing and biking, just like her father.

#60: Allison's favorite type of music is soft rock, just like her father's.

#61: Cole's mother's name in the show is Lily, but at the time of writing it we had no idea, so I made up the name Eve. After her name was revealed, I had already had the name Lily for Jay and Nya's daughter, so I decided to keep it as Eve in the series.

#62: Allison's middle name is Eve after her grandmother. This is another reason I decided not to change her name.

#63: Allison has a pet dragon given to her by Seliel. She is an Earth dragon named Pebbles. Although it is Allison's, Cole has a special bond to her because he misses his old dragon, Rocky.

#64: Cole likes to keep the part of his life when he was a ghost a secret from Seliel and Allison. Allison didn't find out about it until she was 14.

#65: Allison's favorite holiday is Day of the Departed because she likes hearing stories of her grandmothers.

Julian family facts:

#66: Zane and Pixal built Alex from spare parts and had about 15 prototype versions of Alex before finding the power source at the lighthouse to give him emotions.

#67: Pixal and Zane worked on the final version of Alex over the course of 9 months. They specifically planned it so they could treat it like a pregnancy and get to see him grow before he was completed.

#68: Alex's real name is A-1310, but Pixal decided to nickname him Alex based on what the numbers looked like. Now everyone calls him that.

#69: In school stories, Alex is smart enough to be in college, but the principal said that 5th grade was the best they could do. His parents wanted him to go for the social experience.

#70: Zane is the only elemental master to not have his powers anymore. He gave them to Alex so he could have them to help the team.

#71: Alex was given his elemental power using a device that could copy Zane's and give a part of it to him.

#72: Alex and Axel have the same powers. They are the only two characters who are not related that share the same powers.

#73: In an early version of the story, I wanted Alex to have a robotic falcon friend similar to Zane's. This was soon scraped to make room for story stuff, but I do want to bring it back at some point.

#74: Alex's favorite board game is chess. Till this day, he is the only one who can beat Zane in a chess match, but Zane enjoys the challenge anyway.

#75: Cass and Alex's ship name is Calex, another ship name decided by the fans.

#76: After Cole and Seliel have their twins, Alex will be the only ninja kid who is still an only child.

#77: When she was little, Allison tried to test her super strength by trying to break things. Talk about a troublemaking toddler.

Walker family facts:

#78: Jay and Nya have nicknames for both their kids. Lily's nickname is squirt because of her water power, and Jax's is sport because of his wild nature.

#79: Jay and Nya had trouble getting pregnant at first because of Jay's low sperm count, but I guess he got very lucky. Lol

#80: Lily did have a little crush on Matt when she first met him, but after he was adopted into the family, she has lost interest. However, her time will come.

#81: Jay gave Jax his childhood toy, Mr. Cuddlywump when he was a baby, and even though he's a teenager now, he still sleeps with him.

#82: Jay built Lily a wooden mobile to put over her crib when she was a baby. She still has it on a shelf in her room.

#83: Lily's name was originally Josie, making everyone in the family start with the letter J except for Nya. Lily seemed more fitting.

#84: Jax and Lily shared a room until they were seven, then Lily demanded her own room until her parents finally caved.

#85: Jax and Lily's relationship takes a lot of inspiration from Dipper and Mabel's relationship in the Disney Channel show, Gravity Falls.

#86: The Walkers do have a family dog. Jax found him in the woods after discovering his true potential. Jax named him Bolt to remember the occasion.

#87: Bolt is a mix of a husky and a border collie. He was found as a stray.

#88: Matt was offered the role of Samurai X shortly after being taken in by the Walkers, but turned it down because he wasn't the fighter type. Nya decided to offer it to her nephew Trent instead.

#89: In the AU version, Matt was found in Akamu's house as a child he kidnapped. He kidnapped him to fill the void of his wife and child leaving him. After being discovered by Jay and Nya, they took him in.

#90: In the AU version, Jay works for and is good friends with his biological dad, Cliff Gordon. Cliff is also a wonderful grandfather to Lily and Jax.

#91: Jay and Nya had a miscarriage a few years after the twins were born. After that, they were so devastated they never tried again.

Other character facts:

#92: Originally Nadakhan would get one wish before passing away in prison and he was going to use it to give him a son who would've been called Flynn. I decided to scrap this idea because I had way too many characters already.

#93: Some of the other elemental masters were also supposed to have children. This included Neuro having a son named Trip, Tox having a daughter named Ivy, and Bolobo having a son named Oliver. This idea was scrapped because I already had so many characters to keep track of.

#94: However, Ronin does have a daughter named Jazmine. She exists in all versions, but only made two appearances. One in the AU in the chapter "Searching for the Cure: Part 2" and in a one shots chapter "An Anniversary Story."

#95: Ronin's ex-wife, Jazmine's mother, is named Penny, a fitting name for Ronin's love of money. Unfortunately the marriage didn't work out, but they still share custody of Jazmine where Ronin gets to see her every other week.

#96: Gayle Gossip and Dareth are married and have one child, Dareth Junior (or DJ for short) he is the same age as Ashley and Trent. So far he has only made appearances in the non canon spin off, School Stories, but is canon in all stories.

#97: When Dareth asked Gayle to be his yang, she would only say yes if Dareth agreed to take her last name. That is why her name is still Gayle Gossip.

#98: Originally, Maizy and Ryder were supposed to be a couple, but that didn't happen because in the AU, they are biologically cousins. Instead, Katie, the daughter of Griffin Turner, was put in that role.

#99: Axel was originally supposed to be the son of Mr. E, but I went with he was created by the overlord to be an evil clone of Alex.

#100: Everyone has the color of their parents that coordinate with their powers, but the other kids get their own respective colors. Trent has brown as his color, Ashley gets a lavender suit, and Ethan will eventually get a dark purple suit to match his destruction powers.

#101: In this series, Harumi's family last name is Tanaka. It's from Japanese decent and it's also Akamu and Maizy's last name.

#102: Maizy wants to legally change her name to Maizy Mitchell, which is Zach's last name, because she wants to leave that part of her past behind and start calling Zach her father.

#103: Cass's name is an acronym similar to Pixal. It stands for Computer Assistant of Scientific Sections.

#104: Although Pixal and Cass were enemies at first, they have really bonded and they have a lot in common.

#105: Maizy's mother, Zoey, is dead in the original version, but in the AU, she is alive and taking care of Maizy by keeping her as far away from Akamu as possible.

#106: Zera, the new master of time, has a crush on Maizy but refuses to admit it.

#107: Maizy is arosexual and asexual, meaning she doesn't have a romantic attraction to anyone.

And now for the special announcement:

108: Part 4 of Ninjago Generations will be called Ninjago: Second Generations! This one will be a continuation with the junior ninja team's kids. I've been wanting to do this for a while and I'm really excited about it. I hope you guys are really excited as well.

Ok guys this took me over 48 hours to make so I really hope you enjoyed it.
