My nephew will be seventeen on Christmas Eve. Today that scoundrel Amias messed with the cook. She set him straight. What he did? He attempted to undress her! Can you believe that? Father just about tossed him overboard but instead he is scrubbing the masts. I do believe the man is afraid of heights. The latest letter from my nephew states that you have considered him. I hope that isn't true for then I would have to give my blessing. How is court?

Today we passed an unnamed island. It was absolutely beautiful! There were pink and blue sanded beaches and the flowers were all sorts of colors. And the reefs! They were all gorgeous. Father gave me permission to name the island and record it in the official charts. Do you know what I named it? I named it Mia's Cove.

Dearest, I am counting the days until I return. No one but you and I know of our romance and it kills me. I love you with all of my heart. I write some verses while we were resting on the island.
