Hope felt tears roll down her cheeks, her shoulder burned in pain. She couldn't do it any more. She couldn't fight this battle any longer. 

She was alone. Cole was gone. The other female ninja hated her. 

There was nothing left. 

Suddenly, purple glow lit the room. The glow shifted and formed into a woman with a purple streak in her hair. 

"Hello, Hope," the woman said, her voice filled with compassion. 

"Just leave me alone. Take this stupid power and let me go back to New York. I'm not a ninja," Hope growled. 

"Hope, you and I both know I can't do that. You were born to wield this power and you can't walk away from that."

"Really? Because last time I checked, I'm all alone. My friends want nothing to do with me, the man I love is missing, and I'm stuck here instead of helping my brothers."

"Hope, you can't see it, can you?"

"See what?"

"Change can't be taken away or given, you must earn the control you have. Our power comes from the never ending force and we are the only ones who can control it."

"Well, I don't want it anymore!"

"Hope." The spirit made her name sound like a plea. 

Hope growled. She had enough of this mess. The powers, the fighting, the racing back and forth, the time she missed spending with her brothers. 

Teaching the guys, meeting the girls, falling in love with Cole. 

So many things swirled through Hope's thoughts. Some good, some bad, others a bit of both. Memories of laughter and tears, of joy and sadness. 

Hope felt more tears prick at her eyes. How could she have been so stupid? She had forgotten all about the things that made her love Ninjago. She had been so focused on her own self pity that she had neglected her duties as a friend, girlfriend, and ninja.  

The purple glow disappeared and Hope got out of bed. Her shoulder burned with pain, but she ignored it.

She had won the battle within, and she wasn't going to let an arrow wound stop her from winning the battle outside.
