Part 14: Keefe lies for a random person

Hi guys! So I am going to be renaming the chapters in a style similar to Rick Riordan. If the chapter titles are different then that's why. Enjoy!

Keefe's POV

Keefe was worried. He could tell Zyfira wasn't being completely honest about her memory, but Keefe had sensed such overwhelming fear from her that he had lied. Zyfira's emotions felt...different. He felt like he should remember why, but when he reached for the memory there was an empty space instead. Not even that tip of the tongue feeling, just emptiness. He sighed. Losing your memory sucked. Wincing, he got out of his chair. Having been in a coma also sucked. Even just walking was really tiring. Elwin said it was because of his muscles having been stationary in the coma or something like that. He walked over to the door to Zyfira's room, and knocked. She opened the door.
"Hi," Keefe said.
"Hi. You're Keefe, right?" she asked. Keefe nodded.
"I just wanted to let you know that the rest of Soph- our friends are coming to meet you today." Keefe said. He knew that before he had used to be friends with these people, but they felt like strangers. It felt odd calling them his friends. "It might be a bit overwhelming so I just wanted to warn you," he continued. "Anyway...that's all. Bye," he said, and started walking back to his chair.
"Wait!" Zyfira said. " Can't we stay and talk? It's really boring here, and I don't know anyone," Keefe shrugged.
"Sure." They went and sat down in some chairs, and just started talking. After a while Keefe worked up the courage to ask,
"What happened to your arm?" Zyfira grinned.
"It was eaten!" Keefe blinked. She couldn't be serious, could she?
"Just kidding, I was in a light leaping accident when I was a kid, and my arm didn't reform. But that doesn't sound nearly as exciting,"
"Oh," Keefe said, relieved. "Isn't it hard to like...do stuff then?" Zyfira shook her head.
"I'm used to it. But it's annoying constantly being underestimated because of it. People seem so uncomfortable, most elves have never even seen someone missing a finger before, let alone half their arm. Besides it's a lot easier to do stuff now- I mean it's a lot easier with telekinesis. You nobility guys are always forgetting how useful it is." Keefe felt a surge of anger when she mentioned the nobility.
"What do you mean that the nobility forget?" Zyfira bit her lip.
"Sorry, I forgot you lost your memory. The nobility are super stuffy and uptight, and they don't really care about the abilities everyone has, just their special ones. Like how you're an Empath."
"Oh. That's not fair. I hope I wasn't like that. Do you have a special ability?" He felt a wave of panic from Zyfira.
"I.....I-" she was cut off by Sophie's friends entering the room. The stuck up guy named Fitz, scowling guy named Tam, Biana who was pretty cool, Dex who was nice but a bit pouty, and Linh who was always positive. Zyfira looked relieved for the distraction. She got up and walked over to them.
"Hi! I'm Zyfira!" she said. "I want to join the Black Swan."
