IVs are Useful to Tie People up
Xifeng blinked once. Then twice. The afterlife looks a lot like a hospital room. She thought. Wait a minute...
She pats her head. NerveGear. I'm alive?! She looked down at her arms. Then immediately pulled out the IVs. Xifeng hated needles.
All of a sudden she heard a noise from the door. Xifeng tensed and prepared to throw the IV cords like she would her chain whip. Same concept.
A woman came in through the door and Xifeng sprung into action. Well kinda. She heavily leaned on the bed as she threw the cords. They somehow entangled the person and they were jerked towards Xifeng. Using the surprise to her advantage, she wound the cords around the woman. Her clipboard clattered to the floor and she was successfully tied up.
Xifeng shuffled over to the door and carefully shut it.
"What are you doing?!" The nurse exclaimed.
"Leaving." Was the response she got. Xifeng carefully wandered over to the window and peered out. She was on the second story. Not too bad. Xifeng unlatched the window, climbed out (despite the nurse's protests), and jumped down.
What she didn't notice was that the nurse hit the help button.
Xifeng landed on a bush, and stood up. She brushed off her clothes. The same ones she wore when she entered the game. It felt weird not to be wearing her in-game clothes. Xifeng spent the next couple minutes doing some simple motions with her hands and legs, getting used to being in the real world again.
A hand suddenly landed on her shoulder. She whipped around to see a boy standing, heavily panting in front of her. She put her hands up in defense.
"Who are you? What do you want?"
The boy's face fell slightly before grinning. "I'm your older twin brother."
Without thinking Xifeng blurted out, "No I'm the older one." Her eyes widened. "Junhei!" She leaped toward him and hugged him. "You look so different!"
Junhei picked a twig out of her tangled blonde hair. "Why do you even have a branch in your hair?"
"Oh. I jumped out a window after tying up someone." She said casually like someone would say when talking about the weather.
Junhei nodded for a moment then exclaimed, "Wait!? You did what?!"
"Jumped. Out. A. Window. I believe I made that perfectly clear. It's not that dangerous Junhei. I mean not compared to other stuff I've done."
Junhei stared at her. "Sis. Just what did you in that virtual reality world of yours."
"Some things you just don't want to know." She said solemnly. Her cheerful attitude returned a moment later. But Junhei could tell it was forced. "Oh. I wonder how Asuna and Kirito are doing." She exclaimed.
"Who are Asuna and Kirito?"
"My two friends I made. We beat the game together. Well, we all died, so I was wondering if they came back to life as well."
"You died!?" Junhei grabbed Xifeng's shoulders and shook her. "Xifeng that was so reckless you complete idiot."
"You missed the important part. We beat the game. Anyways what have you been up to?"
"Oh nothing much, I just became an idol."
Xifeng stared at him. Then she leapt at him and whacked his head. "That's nothing?! You complete idiot. My little bro got famous huh. Let's go back home okay." They started walking in silence when they passed a tv shop.
"Breaking news. The survivors of Sword Art Online have all returned. The game was beaten by players Kirito, Loch, and Asuna."
Xifeng quickly sped past the shop. Junhei following her. "Loch?" He asked.
"Mhmn?" She responded. She snapped out of her trance. "Oh sorry. I've been so used to responding to the name in the game."
"By the way. My group mates are visiting, so they are at home."
"Cool. I'll be able to meet them. How many are in your group? 4? 5? 6?"
"Thirteen including me."
Xifeng skidded to a stop. "So your saying I have to meet twelve new people today."
"What. Are you not happy with how you look." He said referring to her disheveled hair and how skinny and gaunt she looked.
Xifeng shot Junhei a disbelieving look. "You know I could care less how I look. Just overwhelming I mean I did just get out of the game."
Junhei looked down guiltily, "Sorry. I didn't think of that."
"I now have to thank twelve for taking care of my idiotic brother my first day out."
"Hey!" Junhei whined.
Xifeng laughed as they stood in front of the door. She went to turn the doorknob, then drew back her hand. A hand unclosed hers and put it on the knob. She looked up at Junhei. He was grinning. The door squeaked open and Xifeng cautiously entered along with Junhei.
They entered the living room. Where their parents were crying and 12 unknown boys sat.
"I'm back."
