CHAPTER VIII: The diagnostics surprises

I opened my eyes, blinking few times for the dazzling of the light. Groaning in pain for the terrible headache I was feeling, I massaged my forehead. I was still a bit dizzy and I wanted to throw up. Getting up as fast as I could I went to the bathroom to empty my stomach, gasping for air and sweating I made my way towards the bed of our medical room inside the house. Starting to feel cold I cover myself with all the blankets. What the hell was happening to my body?!

Minutes after, hearing someone coming inside the room, I opened my eyes to be in front of our young and caring doctor and a worried Victor who, in two seconds, was by my side caressing my face.

"Andrea... God, I thought you would never wake up."

I rose my eyebrows at him, narrowing my eyes I asked the first thing that came into my mind.

"For how long was I in coma?"

Looking now at Laura, our healer, she approached the end of my bed with her hands inside her white coat pockets.

"You were out for three days Andy... Plus we were worried because your body was rejecting the medicines and it took too long to regenerate back to its healthy state."

Astonished for what I was hearing, I decided to remain calm.

"Hey Victor don't worry, now I'm okay. I think the fight was too intense..."

Giggling at my own comment I saw him smiling, but then it changed to a frowning and worried expression.

"Now I'm calmer, but seriously I thought I had lost you in that encounter with the Alphas, when your demons took control."

Sighing in defeat I decided to explain what happened, to see also if that was the reason of my actual condition.

"Aixandeer took control."

"What?!"

I was taken back when I heard them exclaim in unison. Then I started to explain how he manipulated me to get free and the fact that he have never spoke to me, the first time he controlled and used me was also the day after my transformation in what I was now. He only told me his name and how his eyes worked. Nothing more, nothing less.

"But... Can be that a reason of my current state?"

Our doctor thought for a second, but then she shook her head.

"That can't be. Since they always surface, everything returns back at its normal status, after maximum a day."

I nodded my head understanding what she was explaining, then I turned my head to Victor who now was squeezing lightly my right shoulder. He had a tint of worried expression but he managed to hide it.

"We should have done something. It wasn't a problem for me to loose control but I think this could be very dangerous in a near future. Am I right Vic?"

His features softened a little, followed by a tiny chuckle.

"It's not a problem for you to loose control? God Andy... You're strange."

I grinned at his statement and turned my attention to Laura who was smiling at the sight. I nodded my head at her, asking for an answer. She sighed and started to talk.

"I think the best solution is to increment your daily trainings to be stronger physically and mentally, that way it won't happen again, and you could have more control."

I pouted and looked at her with puppy and pleading eyes.

"But Laura! I already train two-to-three hours per day! No more please! I beg you!"

While she giggled, Victor spoke amused.

"Andy you need to do what she told you, maybe you will have only train three hours and half or increase the intensity of the work. But I would prefer to you to take your time and think about what's the best for you."

Sighing in disbelief I nodded my head without looking at him in the eyes, then I heard Laura's voice.

"So beauty how did you feel when you woke up?"

"Well... I felt so dizzy that I threw up."

Looking at her shocking expression, I furrowed my eyebrows in wondering. Then I saw how Vic and she exchanged a glance.

"Throw up? That's not a demon's problem. It absolutely shouldn't happen. Listen here Andy, are you sure that was Aixandeer's voice?"

I thought just a moment, but these few seconds were enough to make me doubt about it.

"Well... now that you're asking I really don't know. It was a demonic roar and, in fact, I couldn't tell from whom was the voice. So I assumed it was him since he spoke to me once in my life, inasmuch as I would have recognized the others. And, now that I think of it he called me beauty, something strange coming from him."

Her features softened, and a small smile appeared on her face.

"Darling, how long has it been since you last communicate with your wolf?"

I was taken back for her question. My sight swift from Laura to Victor, and then back to her. What was going on?

"Why? Has it something to do with this?"

"I think it does, my theory is that your wolf roared and Aixandeer took advantage of it."

"But why? Yes, it has been a long time since we last made contact, since my mom's and sis death. Why should she now?"

"I think that she wants to take control to talk with you so, probably, she communicated with your most powerful demon to help each other. Luckily he surfaced only to the first level, but it was enough for him to control your body without difficulty. That's a dangerous thing."

She finished her explanation releasing a breath, while I heard Victor sighing I shook my head in incredulity.

"Wait, wait, wait... slow down. I don't wanna talk with her. What is she supposed to tell me so important to even let my most powerful demon get free?"

I saw her smiling brightly and Victor looking at her strangely but dumbfounded.

"What it is Laura?"

She shook her head and giggled a little while closing her eyes, once stopped in her face was a tint of amusement.

"In these past days, did you feel dizziness, headaches, more irritable and loss of strength?"

"Ha! And now you're gonna tell me that I'm pregnant, don't you? There's no fucking way... that's just impossible."

Victor looked at me like if he knew what she was talking about, narrowing my eyes at him I wanted an explanation. He seemed dumbfounded and taken back but his sight swift from me to Laura, then they started chuckling. He smiled looking at me, like if he knew what was going on.

"What the hell is going on? Can you tell me now?"

"Andrea... These symptoms always appear when, someone who had blocked its wolf, find its mate. Impossible talking with you, they showed these signs. Like if you are pregnant, for men works differently."

I burst into laughing, I couldn't believe what they were telling me. I seemed like some sort of crazy.

"Oh c'mon! Now I have a mate?"

I calmed down when I saw their serious expressions. Then is when I understood.

"Ah. This is not a joke... is it?"

They shook their heads. I was so frustrated and furious. Why I couldn't have a simple life without problems?

"Agh!! Why I have a fucking messed up life?! I don't want a mate! I didn't ask for one! He's not in my current plans and never will be in the future!"

I crossed my arms on my chest, and began to tap the bed my left feet, like if I had a nervous tic. I heard Victor sighing, he sat on the bed. Hugging me with his left arm he nodded to Laura dismissing her, probably because now she was out of the conversation. Caressing my left arm with his fingers he started to talk.

"Andrea, I know that you had a difficult past with boys and you don't trust them. I'm perfectly aware that you didn't ask for him and I understand you perfectly because it's the same I thought before finding Gen, that I would reject her because I was afraid to be with a woman for the rest of my life. But everything changes when you see him or her for the first time, I know it's hard, but think about it. If you have a mate that means he has something that complete you as a person and vice versa. In this case I can't tell you what to do because it's your life and decisions, but at least give him an opportunity. Maybe he's worth it or maybe not, who knows."

Watching attentively Victor speaking, when he finished I shook my head.

"I already know he's not worth it so, I won't risk a second time."

"Andy, if it's love at first sigh then, what?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"That doesn't even exist. I don't believe in this kind of stupidities."

"It exists Andrea, it happened when I first saw Geni."

"See? But it's because you're mates! I don't want that! It's like you don't have another change but to stay with your mate!"

He stood up and walked to the door, before opening it he turned around.

"Promise me that at least you will give him an opportunity, he could make you really happy. If you reject him at first sight it won't be fair for him, and you two would be really in pain."

I tsked and mouthed an 'Okay' rolling my eyes. He smiled back.

"Victor wait!"

He hummed in response turning around.

"I have something to ask you since I'm awake. Why do I smell like a man cologne?"

He chuckled and passed a hand through his messed hair.

"Because when you passed out, Nathaniel was trying to calm Maria, since she was trembling in front of your body. Alpha Logan helped me to dismiss all the guest while his beta, Kyan, took you to this room escorted by Charlie."

I hummed in understanding and then nodded, but my thoughts were that I wanted to shower.

"Oh, Laura told me you will be sleeping here tonight only for caution, and there is someone that wanted to see you."

I raised an eyebrow, he opened the door and I saw how my favorite Casanova jumped to the room into my bed, lying beside me. I chuckled at him while he winked at me. Then I heard the voice of Emmett and his mate.

"If you're asking the Luna is taking a shower, she was so afraid. As well as us."

I smiled at the sweet voice of Violet, we called her 'Vivi'. She was perfect for Emmett: sweet, caring, lovely and a bit wild sometimes. With a perfect light chocolate skin and black curly hair, she was small 5'5'' (1,65m) compared to his 5'11'' (1,81m). But the tallest of us was Charlie who was 6'1'' (1,86m). She was the same as the Italian guy, a vampire, while her mate was a werewolf. My thoughts were interrupted when I felt the arm of the guy lying beside me sneak around my back and resting his head on the crock of my neck. I turned to look at him and studied his features. Brown hair and light eyes, a little big nose, tender lips, strong jawline and his typical glasses he always wear.

"Ero così preoccupato..."
(I was so worried...)

I smiled at him while starting caressing his soft hair.

"Anyway, why do you smell like a cologne? For men?"

I laughed at his furrowed expression while he sniffed me.

"Long story short, I think it was for Alpha Logan's Beta."

"Oh yes, I remember."

He then closed his eyes and rested tightened a bit his grip on my abdomen.

"So... How are you feeling? What did Dr. Laura tell you?"

I tensed at Emmett's question.

"I think I have to tell you something."

"What happened?"

Violet asked a bit worried.

"I think I have a mate."

"What?!"

I saw how Emmett and his mate smiled at me, being happy. But then I started to hear the stupid laugh of the stupid Charlie Abello.

I'm working on the chapters of my other story 'Erotic Waves' previously 'The hot bad boy is my new brother'... During my holidays I'll work on future chapters of this book...
