Neil, as instructed went to the Mehta Mansion during the night and started searching. He was determined to find evidence against Dayawanti Mehta, and he was ready to do anything for that. He had bought only the most trusted officials working under him, including the one and only DD.

After an hour of nothing they came across a locked room. Neil and his team broke the lock and entered inside and noticed Ashish's framed picture there. Neil got a gut feeling that they would get something there for sure, and that was when DD stumbled and fell on a displaced piece of tile. Neil got to work and found a box there that had a pendrive ,a few pictures of a young girl with a bundle in her arms, of a beautiful woman, and it also had a family picture of Ashish Mehta. Neil was beyond happy that he atleast got something. They locked the door and then left the place.

That night Neil went through the pendrive and found the ultimate proof for Dayawanti's crimes. He carefully analysed everything and made a plan of action to trick Dayawanti into confessing to her crimes.

The next morning Neil called Mithali and asked her to meet him in the evening. But first thing, he had to break the news to Avni that her father was no more and he was worried about her reaction. He was also worried about what Neela Maa would do if she came to know that her husband whom she thought was alive and in hiding, was actually dead for all these years, killed by his own mother and he died doing a noble thing, that he stood up for his daughter and got to know his mother's true colours before his death.

Neil knocked on Neela's door and she greeted him with a teasing smile yet again.

Meri beti se door bhi nahi reh sakti ab?

Woh Neela Maa mujhe aapse kuch baatein karna tha. Agar aap busy nahi ho tho hum kahi bahar chale?

Neil kya hua hai? Ghar main sab kuch teekh hain na?

Ghar me sab log bahut achhe hai, but baat kuch aur hai. Hume abhi nikalna chahiye.

Tum ek minute ruko, main Avni ko ek note likhke abhi aayi.

Haa. Yeh mat kehna ki aap mere saath hai, okay??

Haa haa. Main abhi aayi.

Neela immediately penned a note to Avni that she was out meeting an old friend and got in the car with Neil. Neil took them both to the police station. When Neela gave him a look indirectly asking what this was, he replied that it was the moat safe place to discuss this thing.

He invited Neela inside his cabin, called DD and asked him guard the door and he locked it from inside. He then played the video that Ashish shot before his death.

Neela was silently crying through the whole thing and Neil tried his best to comfort her.

Itne saalon se meine aur Avni ne socha ki Ashish ek naqabil aadmi hai, apni Maa ki chamcha hai and ab tho woh hai hi nahi iss duniya mein. Aur Avni ko insaaf dilvane ke liye itna kuch kiya aur uski khud ki Maa ne hi usko maar diya. Main Avni se kya kahun Neil? Woh yeh seh nahi paayegi. All these years, we convinced ourselves that he is better off far away from us and ab woh tho iss duniya main hai hi nahi....

She hugged Neil and started crying, and Neil rubbed her back in a comforting gesture. He let her calm down on her own and after she composed herself she looked him in the eye

Avni se yeh baat tumhe hi batana hoga. Mujhse nahi hogi yeh ab. Woh ghar pe hai, tum jaakar use batao, usko sambahalo. I just want some time to myself. Tum samajh rahi ho na Neil?

Neil was in a very difficult position now, he had hoped that Neela would break the news to Avni, but now he should do it and that too alone. But he could understand what Neela was feeling.He also suffered through the same phase when he thought Juhi was dead. So he was understanding and let Neela go on her way before asking her where she was going

Neil, I really want to be.......

Nahi Neela Maa. Main aake apko pareshan nahi karenga, I just want to know. Dayawanti Mehta toh bahut gusse me hai and I don't want her to get to you and hurt you.

Tum sahi bol rahi ho, ek kaam karti hoon, if I am not back by 5 in the evening you track my phone, okay. I know you could track me.

Ok. I will do that. Be safe and take care.

Aur haa Neil, Avni ka khyaal rakhna. Woh meri pati ka aakhri nishaan hai iss duniya mein. I don't think I will survive if I lose her too.

With that Neela left his cabin and went on her own way. She visited a private beach where Ashish once took her and revisited their memories. She wanted to spend the whole day and if possible the whole week alone to mourn Ashish, her one true love. Even if he did not love her like she wanted him to, she had always been in love with him. She was in love with him even before their marriage was fixed. And now even though he was not there, he had left behind his daughter for her to look after. It did not matter that Avni was not her daughter, she always knew that she will never be able to conceive her own baby, but atleast she had a piece of Ashish with her always and she will make sure that Avni got all the love in the world. She deserved it. She should not suffer like her mothers did. She must find true love, have a happy loving family, kids and should get the chance to grow old with her partner by her side, which she was sure was Neil.

But she could not mourn him now, not when Avni was in danger, and when she needed her the most. She should just hold herself together and stay strong till Neil put Dayawanti behind the bars once and for all. After handi g over her daughter to Neil maybe she'll find some alone time. But this evening she will spend here in the beach with Ashish's memories and then get back home by 5 as she told Neil.

Neil came back to Avni's place and rang the bell. Avni came out carrying the note Neela had written for her in her hand and greeted him too lost in reading the note.

So Avni, Neela Maa sent me here to keep you company.

Tumhe pata hai woh kaha hai?

Mujhe bataya nahi ki woh kaha hai, but she told me to be with you. Why don't we go out somewhere haa? You get ready in 15 min and I will be back soon okay?  He did not wait for her reply and soon started walking back to his car.

He was making a plan on the go, he will get something for them to eat and maybe take her somewhere, he wanted to take her to the cliff, but deemed it too risky considering the news that he was about to share. So he settled on his flat where they will have as some privacy. He went to Chamko Cafe, got some lunch and then went back to get her.

Avni as expected did not change out of her clothes, but she  was outside locking the door when he reached there. She got into his car Neil drove them till his flat, 'soon ours', he thought. His flat was a special place because he had bought it with his own savings. It was his personal space where he felt peace and the satisfaction of having his own place made it extra special.

He helped Avni out of the car and she just stood there looking at him.

I have something very important to discuss with you Avni. So I think this is the best place for that. He answered already guessing the question that was about to come out of her mouth.

They both entered the flat, Neil safely locking it from inside and then he made Avni sit comfortably on the couch. He too sat beside her, and slowly held her hands in his,

Avni ab mein jo batane wala hu, it's really important. Please don't get too overwhelmed okay? Even he felt stupid saying such things, how will she not be overwhelmed after listening that her father is no more.

Avni, already guessing that it was a serious situation by looking at Neil's behaviour in the car was not surprised when he said this. She just nodded her head seriously.

Neil had already set up everything in his flat via DD, so he just pressed the remote control and the video started playing. He sat by her side while she was watching her father's last few moments in this world. She did not speak a word, but her eyes were continuously watering and she was also shaking. Towards the end she was sobbing uncontrollably, and Neil just held her in his arms and let her cry.

He could never even imagine the pain she was going through right now but he did not what words he should say, so that he could comfort her. No words would bring her comfort now, she just realised that her papa, the person she idolized when she was younger and later hated for concrete reasons, was no more. He died trying to get her justice. He got to know about what his own mother did and was trying to put her behind the bars, but she only killed him. How could words comfort her now? For almost an hour she was just sobbing and then when Neil looked at her as she was no longer moving she was passed out.

Avni! Avni!! He tapped her cheek to get her back to the world of living but she was not responding. So, he carefully lifted her in his arms and made her lie on his bed. He sprinkled some water in her face and she slowly blinked her eyes open. But her eyes were sad, it held so much pain, Neil was feeling like a useless person seeing her in so much pain.

Neil??  She called out softly.

Haan Avni??

Waada Karo mujhse ki you will make her pay for what she did to Papa. All these years I hated him for leaving me and Maa alone, but he was not even in this world. Promise Karo mujhse ki Dayawanti Mehta will never see the outside world again. Promise me Neil.

Haa Avni, main waada karta hu ki Dayawanti Mehta will get the strictest punishment ever for all her crimes, I doubt the court will let her go so easily for her crimes. I promise you Avni, tumhare saari gunegaron ko mein jail me daalunga and woh kabhi bhi bahar ka yeh log dekh bhi nahi paayega.

Avni then hugged him tightly and just stayed like that and Neil too wrapped his arms around her.

Neela Maa?

Usko maine aaj subah hi bataya tha and she's just gone to spend some lone time.

Meri wajah se use kitna sehna padtha hai. She can't even mourn her husband's death because of me.

Shh... Avni aise nahi bolte. You are really precious to her. You are very important, you are a part of her husband his parting gift to her that she cherishes very much. You don't try to degrade her love by saying such things haa??

Avni just sobbed again and started crying again. After some time she was silent for a few minutes. Neil was carding his fingers through her hair, trying to calm her down. He was now laying on the with Avni on his chest sobbing. When she got quiet he looked at her.

Neil??

Hmmm...

Does this mean that I am really an orphan?? Itne saalon se mein soch Rahi thi ki I am a girl abandoned by her father, but ab tho mere paas parents hi nahi hai.

Avnii.... Aisa nahi hai. Neela Maa ka kya,tumhare best friend Ali ka kya , Nanno aur.... aur Mera kya Avni..?
Hum kya hai? Hum sab haina tumhare saath. Tum kabhi bhi akeli nahi thi. You had Neela Maa with you and now you have your own life, jis revenge ke liye tum itne saalo se mehnat kar Rahi thi woh ab pura hone wala hai. Aur Mera aur baby ka kya haa?? Tum itni jaldi bhool gayi...
Oh shit!! Tumne to lunch nahi kiya. Yahi baitho mein abhi lunch leke aata hu.

How can you forget Neil??? He scolded himself while he served the takeout in plates and bought it to her.

Neil mujhe nahi khana kuch bhi....

Avni I can understand but tumhe yaad haina, you can't skip your meals and dawaai bhi lena hai tumhe. Tumhe khudki khyaal rakhna honga, if not for yourself then atleast for the sake of the baby hmm.... And with emotional blackmail he made her eat. When she was done he took her plates away and washed them.

When he came back to her, she was now sleeping already. She had tear tracks running down her cheeks, but he knew that she will overcome this too. She was his strong Avni, she won't be defeated by such thing, if such things affected her, then she would have given up a long time ago. She was strong and she was his, they were going to gain victory together.

But adjusting to med school was not easy. I've been writing this part since tha day the last one was published but was not able to complete it and most of the time I write I'm not satisfied with it. But here you go...
