Neil and avni were sitting in the balcony in each other's arms when they heard a knock at the door.

Neil: is waqt kon ho sakta hai?

He sees through the peep hole.

He is shocked.

Neil: MOM!! Avni mom... Hai... Oh no...

Avni was shocked too.

Since they have not told anyone about avni and Neil living together, shweta showing up is a danger sign.

Avni and Neil both began to look at each other.

Neil: oh god avni mom aagyi mom ne tumhe yaha dekha to meri dhulai kutai pitaai ho jayegi kya karu kya karu? (He was walking briskly from here to there.

Another knock sounded.

Neil: (panicking) avni... Tum na chhup jao... Bed ke upar parde ke aage... Counter ke andar... Cupboard ke neeche...

Avni looked at him confused.

Neil: avni tum yaha nahi waha... Nahi...

Avni placed hand on his mouth and placed finger on her lips.

She signed that she is going to hide in the washroom.

Neil smiles and nods.

He breathes deeply and opens the door.

Shweta: tillu what's this? Kabse knock knock wali game khel rahi hoon itna time kyu laga darwaza kholne mein? (Suspiciously)

Neil swallows a lump

Neil: kuch nahi mom woh bas... Main... Main to (looking here and there) bathroom.. Bathroom mein tha... Tabhi time laga... (Smiling nervously)

Shweta: okays... Kaisa hai tu?
(Moving to the kitchen counter)

Neil follows her.

Neil: accha hoon mom. Waise aap yaha achanak?

Shweta: kyu nahi aa sakti? Waise bhi main aaj raat yahi rukne wali hoon.

Neil: kya!!

Shweta: itna shock kyu ho raha hai? Bebe apne friends ke saath gyi hai aur prakash ji ko kisi business meeting pe jana pada... To main akeli thi... Socha tumhe company dedu... (Arranging the spice boxes)

Neil looked here and there nervously.

Neil: zarurat hi nahi thi mom...

Shweta: kya?! (Neil nods in no quickly)

In the washroom avni was listening all this.

Avni: (in mind) oh no agar aunty ji ne mujhe dekh liya to? Nahi nahi... Kuch to karo bhagwaan ji..

Shweta: waise tillu bohut acche se kitchen saja ke rakhi hai tumne... Acchi baat hai... Good works (smiles)

Neil presses a tight smile just then he saw there a two coffee cups in the balcony.

If shweta saw she would definitely start interrogation again.

Neil: mom.. Aap baitho na... Baitho... Main serve kar deta hoon.

Shweta sits on the couch.

Neil: waise mom mujhe lagta hai ki aapko apne friends ke saath time spend karna chahiye.. Matlab itne dino baad aap free the... Isiliye... (Nervous smile)

Shweta: tillu Tu mujhe yaha se bhagana kyu chahta hai? (Suspicious gaze) main to raat ko yahi rahungi...

Neil: kuch nahi... (He thinks something) main abhi aata hoon...

He went to the washroom.

Avni was there waiting for him.

Neil: avni mom to yaha raat rehne ki baatein kar rahi hai.. Ab kya karein?

Avni thinks something.

She signs Neil.

Avni (signs) call ali...

Neil: haan yehi sahi rahega... Ali...

He calls ali and informs him about their situation.

Ali: yaar ab main kya kar sakta hu? (He thinks) aunty ko kidnap kar lu?

Neil: Tu pagal hai kya? Maar khayega mujhse.... Aur kuch kar mere bhai... Is waqt mom ka yaha se jana zaruri hai... Tu salma aunty se baat kar na...

Ali: Haan theek hai mom se baat karta hoon.

Neil: haash! Ab woh baat karega aunty se aur aunty to mom ko kisi na kisi tareeke convince kar hi lengi...

Neil smiles looking at her.

Avni too gave a short smile

Shweta: oye ab yeh tillu ko itna time kyu lag raha hai?

He got up and started walking here and there.

Her eyes caught something shiney on the floor.

She picks it up. It was an ear stud.

Shweta: (frowns) mere tillu 'the one man army single single' ke ghar mein yeh koka (Punjabi for ear stud) kya kar raha hai? Kahi ladkiiii! (Widening eyes) OYE TILLUUUUU!!

Neil and avni flinched hearing this.

Neil immediately rushed outside.

Neil: mom kya hua?

Shweta: kaha hai woh? Main puch rahi hoon kaha hai woh?

Neil: kk...kon? Mom kon?

Shweta: jiska yeh koka hai? (Showing the ear stud)

Neil: (in mind) gya bete Tu to aaj yeh to avni ka jo woh pichle do din se dhoondh rahi thi... Mila bhi to mom ko... Ab kya karu kya karu?

Shweta: oye where lost? Jaldi bol kon hai woh aur is waqt kaha hai? (Placing one hand on her waist)

Neil: m...mom yeh to.. Ek case se related hai... Woh mujhe ek mujrim ko pakadne ka sabut hai yeh to... (Licking his lips) mil nahi raha tha kabse... Thank you aapne dhoondh diya mom... Thank you.. (He hugs her)

Shweta: accha theek hai... Yeh le... Mujhe laga shayad tumne apne liye tilli dhoondh li hai... (Pouts)

Neil smiles nervously.

Shweta was having tea when she noticed that some of Neil's shirts were laying on the bed.

Shweta: yeh shirts laundry se aayi hai na... Main abhi inko almaari mein rakh deti hoon...

Neil: (shocked) almaariiii!! Nahi mom.

He literally jumped over the coffee table and went behind shweta to stop her from reaching the Cupboard.

He stood in between shweta and and the Cupboard securing it with his hands.

Shweta: (confused) oye tillu kya kar raha hai tu? Itna kya hai us almari mein? Chal hatt... Kapde rakhne de..

Neil: nahi maa nahiiii.... (Dramatically) is almaari mein kapde rakhne se pehle aapko meri laash par se guzarna hoga...

Shweta: (frowns) kya bol raha hai tillu?

Neil: sach... Kadwa sach.... Aap is almari ko nahi khol sakte....

Shweta: tillu dimaag kharab mat kar aur hatt yaha se... Aisa kya hai almari mein kholne nahi de raha?

Neil: (swallowed a lump) kuch... Kuch bhi to nahi maa.... Haan woh kya hai na main aapke wajah se nahi kholna chahta yeh...

Shweta: meri wajah se? Woh kaise? (Placing her left on her waist)

Neil: kyu ki mom main aapki jaan bachana chahta hoon... Agar aapko kuch ho gya to main dad ko kya jawab doonga? (Dramatically)

Shweta: tillu maine na abhi jutti removes karke tera 'taa dhinaa dhin dhaa' kar dena hai.... (Irritated) saaf saaf bol kya hua hai....

Neil: (scared) mom kyuki maine na almari arrange nahi kari hai.... Aap kholo ge to aapko gussa aayega.... Gussa aayega to aapka BP high ho jayega... Aur BP high matlab kuch bhi ho sakta hai mom kuch bhi... (Widening his eyes)

Shweta was about to say but her phone rang.

Neil sighs

Shweta answered the call turned to Neil.

Shweta: salma ka phone hai... Woh bol rahi hai ki woh akeli hai air usko dar lagega... Mujhe jana padega Neil...

Neil: (dancing inwards) kya mom... Phir to aapko jana chahiye aur meri tension bilkul mat lijiyega... Main to akele rehna hi leta hoon.

Shweta nods and soon leaves.

Neil: (closing the door) bye mom.

He sighs after closing the door. He immediately went to the washroom and got avni out.

Neil: mom chale gye...

Avni nods but she felt sad.

Neil cupped her face.

Neil: avni... Kya hua hai? Sad kyu ho?

Avni: (taking a paper and wrote) hum kab tak meri wajah se tumhari family se jhooth bolenge...

Neil read it and looks at her.

She was having tears in her eyes.

Neil hugged her and patted her hair. She started sobbing.

Neil: bas avni shhh... Main jald hi kuch karta hoon... Tum please stress mat lo...

Neil was very well aware that avni should not stress herself as it is not good for her.

Neil: (in mind) avni... Main khud chahta hoon ki ghar walo ko sab bata doon par... Main nahi janta woh kaise react karenge... Main nahi chahta ki woh aisa kuch bhi kahein jis se tumhe taklif ho...

He kissed her hair.

Few days went by.

Neil and avni went to the hospital.

Doctor: Mr. Khanna that's a good news... Ms. Avni ko ab hum therapy dene ka soch sakte hai...

Neil smiled happily.

Avni smiled a bit and looked down.

Avni: (in mind) mujhe pata hai Neil tum bohut khush ho par... Main sirf ghar pe sab ko sach batana chahti hoon.

Doctor notices avni sad.

Doctor: avni... Aap zara bahar wait kar lijiye mujhe Mr. Khanna ko doses samjhani hai...

Neil looked confused.

Avni nods and silently went out.

Doctor: Mr. Khanna avni kisi tension mein hai kya?

Neil: kaisi tension... Mujhse to share nahi kiya avni ne...

Doctor: kuch to baat hogi aap yaad karne ki koshish kijiye... Kuch aisa jo avni chahti thi... Yaa kabhi usne kaha ho...

Neil recalled something. He realised what could be bothering her.

Neil: doctor I think... Matlab humare saath rehne ke baare mein kisi ko nahi pata mere ghar oe... To ho sakta hai ki yahi wajah...

Doctor: ho sakta hai Neil aur waise bhi... Sabse pehle bhi maine kaha tha aapse ki avni ko ek family atmosphere chahiye...

Neil: I completely understand your point doc but... I mean.... Avni ki disability ko leke meri family kaise react karegi? I mean aisa nahi hai ki they are Orthodox or something like that but phir bhi main nahi chahta ki avni se koi bhi kuch kahe... That too humare rishte ko leke...

Doctor: main aapka point samajhti hoon but it's important.. Him ignore nahi kar sakte and ho sakta hai ki family mein rehne ki wajah se uski speech laut aaye...

{A/n: Actually guys avni ki jab vidyut se shadi hui thi uske kuch time baad hi uska ek accident hua tha and she lost her speech that. Neela ma ki death ke baad usne baat karna waise hi kam kar diya tha.}

Neil: main dekhta hoon...

He met avni outside the cabin.

Neil: chalein?

Avni nods and signed him about what happened inside.

He just made some excuse.

Neil: ab tum stress lena band karogi? (Cupping her face)

Avni smiles a bit and nods.

Neil kissed her forehead.

Soon they left.

All this scene was seen by two pairs of eyes.

Avneil went to shopping mall and later ice cream shop. After spending some quality time. They left for home.

As Neil opened the door, the hall was all dark.

Neil switched the lights on.

He was shocked to see....

Shweta: (glaring) kabse reh rahi ho tum yaha pe?

Avni just looked down without saying anything.

Neil: mom main...

Shweta: jisse poocha hai wahi jawab dega... BOLO!!!

Avni flinched at once she left neil's hand. she looked at the ground. neil looked at avni and then shweta.

Shweta: ho kaun tum? yaha kabse reh rahi ho? aur..

Neil: mom please for heaven sake just stop it... (shouts)

Bebe and shweta were shocked to see neil like this.

Neil: avni hai yeh... pyaar karta hoon main isse aur... chaar mahine hum saath rwh rahe the aur rehte rahenge...humesha (he held avni's hand more tightly this time.)

Avni looked at him with teary eyes.

Bebe: char mahine se reh rahe ho to humein tere papa ji batayenge... (smiles)

Neil looked at her confused. Shweta too smiled.

Bebe go to avni and stood in front of her. avni looked down.

Neil: bebe...

Bebe: chup... mujhe avni se baat karni hai...

Bebe: (to avni) tillu ne to keh diya ki woh tujhe pyaar karta hai... tum pyaar karti ho usko?

Avni looked down.

Bebe: pyaar kiya to darna kya? bolde puttar...

avni nods lightly.

Bebe smiles.

Neil: bebe....

Bebe: what bebe? hmmm? (teasing smile) bhai privacy to hum bhi de hi sakte the shayad..

Neil was still confused.

Shweta: oye tilluuuu... hum to teri taang kheech rahe the... socha thoda aur lamba ho jaayega tu... (giggles)

Shweta goes to avni.

Shweta: Bohut pyaari bachi hai.. (she placed her hand on avni's head)

avni looked at her with teary eyes.

Neil: aapko sab pata tha?

Bebe: haan tillu... Tu super cop hai to kya hua hum bhi teri bebe hai... (raising imaginary collar)

Neil: (wiping his tears) par kaise?

Bebe: oye shak to humein kaafi der pehle hi ho gya tha jab tu ghar aat hi nahi tha... aata tha to aise bhaag jata tha jaise hum tujhe kaat te ho... aur phir aaj humne tujhe hospital mein avni ke saath dekh liya.. tab humein yakeen ho gya aur baaki sabut... woh ali ne humein de diye...

Neil: ali?!! iski to main...

Shweta: uski tu kuch nahi hum teri band bajayenge... kab batane wala tha humein?

Neil: bohut jald mom...

Avni was looking at them. she smiled a bit. Bebe came near her and placed hand on her head.

Bebe: Puttar zindagi ko ek mauka do... aur sab theek ho jaayega.. bata tu... karegi mere tillu se shaadi?

Avni looked at neil who was looking at her with hopeful eyes.

Avni nods and looks down blushing.

Neil: (jumping in happiness) yaayyyyy avni thankyou i love you.

He was about to go to her to hug but bebe stood in between.

Bebe: oye teri bebe yaha khadi hai...aut tu... shaadi ke baad teri hi hai... jo chahe karna... (winks)

Neil looks down rubbing the back of his neck. he blushes.

Avni too looks down and blushed.

Shweta: oye hoye... bebe zara dekhiye to blushing blushing...

Bebe and Shweta giggles.

They shared a group hug.

Avni smiled widely after such a long time. Neil was haapy seeing her happy.

Avni and Neil shifted to Khanna Mansion.

Soon they were married with all of the rituals and blessings.

A room was fully decorated witha shy bride sitting in the center of the bed waiting for her newly wedded husband to come.

The door opens.

Her heart fluttered listening the door closing and the light footsteps approaching her.

She knew it was her husband Neil.

Neil smiled looking at the decorations of the room and his bride.

She was looking even more beautiful.

He went near her and sat on the bed.

The veil was lifted up.

Neil: avni... (deep husky voice)

Avni blushed. she swallowed a lump down her throat feeling nervous.

Neil: thanks you avni meri life mein aake mere aadhe ishq ko poora karne ke liye... i love you... karta tha.. karta hoon.. aur karta rahunga taa umar.. poori zindagi... har pal... har saans ke saath... har dhadkan ke saath... mere har lamhe mein... har ghadi mein... sirf tum hogi... aaj se main saara ka kaara tumhara hoon avni... sirf tumhara...

Avni was in tears listening him.

she had never even thought that her fate would be so happy on her to shower this blessing.

she was happy that her love is with her and she is willing to let him take over her.

Avni smiled through tears.

Neil panics seeing her in tears. he immediately cupped her face...

Neil: avni kya hua? tum theek hho na.. dekho agar tum kuch nahi chahogi to kuch nahi hoga.. please...

He was stopped a pair of soft lips over his rough ones.

It was avni who kissed him to stop his blabberings.

Neil took some time to register what happened but soon responded her.

a girl was seeing getting ready looking at the mirror when she felt two hands around her waist.

she smiles.

the boy placed his chin on her shoulder.

it was neil. and the girl obviosly humari avni.

Boy: Good morning meri jaan... morning dose milegi kya?

Avni smiled she turned around and placed a soft kiss on his cheek.

Neil: beta hoon tumhara kya?

Avni frowns.

Neil: mere wali kiss kiya karo na.. (pouts)

Avni blushed... and nods in no.

Neil: chalo phir mujhe bhi to tumhe morning dose deni hai na... main de deta hoon... (smirks)

Neil leans forward to kiss her but our avni.... she ducks and went away.

Neil: avni,.. this is not fair ... (pouting)

Avni: looks back and pokes her tongue at him.

Neil: avni ki bacchii abhi batata hoon...

Avni ran away.

Neil smiles.

this was their life happy and content with each other.

Few months back doctor had told them avni won't be able to speak.

all were very upset listening this especially Neil.

He wanted avni to be normal but maybe destimy had something else in her store for them.

Neil made it a point Not to make her feel sad and cheered up her mood.

Avni now was fine.

except for speech she led a very normal life helping Shweta at her NGO. Spending time with bebe neil and all...

their life was going smooth..

but one day....

it was evening.

Neil was in his cabin working on some case.

his phone rang and showed an unknown number.

Neil: hello ACP Neil Khanna this side.

Caller: pata hai ACP sahab tabhi call kiya hai aapko...

Neil: don't you dare.. avni ko kuch bhi hua na to....

The caller hung up the phone.

Neil felt as if heart was being pulled out of his body.. he immidiately called shweta to ask about avni...

Shweta informed that she had gone to the market and is not back yet.

Neil ran away from the police station to reach the address.

It was a type of of a farmhouse.

Neil went inside.. he called out avni... but got no response.

His eyes were going red due to tears...

Neil: avni please... kaha ho tum? (on the verge of crying)

he heard the sound of something falling.. he turned around.

Avni was standing behind him with a smile on her face.

Neil without thinking anything just hugged her tightly...

Neil: avni... tum theek ho... main dar gya tha... (parting) tumhe kuch hua to nahi na... chot to nahi aayi... main us aadmi ko chhodunga nahi... kaise.. (he was checking her arms and body for some injury...) tumhe kuch nahi hua main...

he stopped hearing a soft voice.

voice: neil...

He looked up at avni who smiled at him.

Neil: avni...

Avni: neil...

Neil: Avni...tum... bola.. abhi...

Avni smiled and nods.

Avni: haan neil... maine hi bola...

Neil: tum bol sakti ho... tumhari awaz wapis agyi...

Avni: (smiling through tears) haan neil...

Both hugged each other tightly....

Neil: par.. tum yaha?

Avni: sorry neil... woh phone maine hi karwaya tha... ali bhai se..

Neil: (angry) avni... are you mad?!! meri jaan nikal gyi thi.. mujhe laga tumhe sach mein kuch ho gya... are you crazy...

Avni: I'm sorry neil... par main tumhe surprise dena chahti thi...

Neil: surprise ...main shock ho gya tha... heart kamzor hota to mar..

avni placed hand on his mouth.

Avni: naraz ho to gussa nikal lo... par yeh maut ki baatein mat karo please... main to bas tumhe yeh surprise dena chahti thi... batana chahti thi ki kitna pyaar karti hoon tumse... college ke time se.. jab meri zindagi mein kaali raat chal rahi thi.. tum ujala ban ke aaye the...

Neil's anger went away hearing this. his eyes softened.

Avni: pata hai neil maine kabhi college mein tumse kuch anhi kaha kyu ki.. main rejection se darti thi... bohut zyada darti thi... isiliye tumhe door door se dekhti thi... pata hai jab meri life toot rahi thi...tumne bachaya mujhe.. agar tum na hote to...

Neil: I'm sorry... mujhe aise gussa nahi karna chahiye tha...

Avni: haq tha tumhara neil.. I'm sorry and i love you...

Neil felt as if he was on cloud nine... all the while together he wanted to listen these magical words from avni and today finally she said it.

Avni: naraz ho...

Neil: nahi... par kabse bol sakti ho tum?

Avni: woh jo tum pichle mahine mission pe gye the tab...

Neil: to doctor ko aapne hi kaha tha jhooth bolne ko...

Avni: (nods) sorry (looking down)

Neil: (hugs her tightly) i love you too.. aur... maine naraz nahi hoon tumse... (smiles)

Avni: (innocently like a child) sacchi?!!

Neil hums in response.

Avni: (seperating fron hug) chalo mere saath.

Neil: (frowns) kaha...

Avni held his hand and took to a room.

the whole room was decorated with balloons and fairy lights.

Neil frowns and looks at the front wall.

He was confused looking at the decorations.

Avni smiled and held his hand. She took her to the table arranged in the center.

There was a cake and a box.

Neil's eyes widen on sudden realisation

He turned towards avni who was blushing profusely...

Neil: avni... Iska matlab...

Avni nods shyly.

Neil: (excited) matlab... Matlab hum pregnant hai... We are pregnant.

Avni: (blushing) haan Neil...

Neil: (excited) matlab... Main... Main maa banne wala hoon tum papa wali ho.... Matlab...

Avni frowns listening him. She facepalmed herself.

Avni: Neil... Main maa ban ne wali hoon tum papa banne wale ho...

Neil: matlab to wahi raha na... Hum pregnant hai...

He hugged her really tight.

Avni too responded.

Neil: (seperating) thank you avni.. Thank you so much... I love you..

Avni smiled.

Neil sat down on his knees. He moved avni's pallu revealing her stomach.

He placed a soft kiss on her belly.

Neil: papa loves you...

Avni smiled.

Neil got up.

Avni: thank you Neil... Meri life mein itni khushiyaan laane ke liye...

Neil: thank you avni... Meri life mein aane ke liye..

He kissed her forehead.

Both cut the cake and fed each other.

Both went to the terrace enjoying the stars and moon in each other's arms.

Neil: avni ek baat puchoo?

Avni hums.

Neil: abhi 9 bacche baaki hai na..

Avni: kya!! (Coming out of his arms and looking at him in amusement)

Neil: haan wifey... Cricket team.. Bhool gya kya? (Winks at her)

Avni slapped his arm

Avni: besharam.

Neil giggles

He pulled her back in his arms.

Here they go towards a happy life with their twins.
