Avni was sitting in the balcony. She recalled her first karva chauth which she didn't celebrate as she was in jail. Her eyes welled up. Suddenly someone placed a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see her hubby standing there. He sat besides her on the swing and held her hand.

She hugged him while he played with her hair.

Neil.. whispered avni.

Hmm..??

Kal karva chauth hai neil..

He looked at her. Tears made way from her eyes. He quickly wiped her tears.

Why are you crying..

Mere first karva chauth ke time par Mai jail mein thi..

Sshh.. don't recall those moments which give you pain.. that was past so forget it.. just live the present..

Avni smiled. She was blessed to have a husband like Neil. She looked up at the sky and mentally thanked neela maa to bring Neil in her life.

Let's go inside.. said Neil.

They both walked inside and layed down on the bed.

Next day. It was 4 pm.

Avni went downstairs and saw shweta and Bebe doing preparations of karva chauth. Shweta gave her sargi. She had it and eventually her fast started after the sunrise.

Neil came downstairs and saw his wifey preparing the breakfast. She arranged the food on the table. Soon prakash, Neil and Mowgli sat down and the ladies served them.

I don't want to eat.. said Neil .

Why..?? Asked shweta.

Voh.. I am not feeling well.. lied Neil.

Shweta knew the reason but didn't tell anything. Neil also did a fast for avni.

Tum thik ho?? Ek minute Mai medicine leke aati hu.. said avni and turned to leave but Neil stopped her.

Medicine ki zaroorat nahi hai.. I will be fine.. saying this Neil smiled.

But..

Avni sighed and nodded.

In the evening.

Everyone started arriving. The ladies assembled in the hall. Bebe told them the real meaning of karva chauth and narrated the story. Everyone listened to her carefully. While all the men were in the garden and were busy talking.

After sometime the moon came and the ladies walked in the garden. The place was decorated beautifully.

Neil looked up as avni walked there in a beautiful red saree. His eyes refused to leave the sight in front of him.

Everyone started the Pooja. The husbands made their wives drink water and fed them sweets and broke their fast. They gave gifts to them. Avni looked at Neil.

My gift?? She asked cutely.

Sorry mujhe nahi pata tha tumhe gift chahiye hoga.. my love is enough for you.. isn't it?? Said Neil and smiled.

Avni pouts.

Just then Neil removes a gift and gives her. She opens it and gets amazed. She looks at Neil with tears in her eyes. Neil smiles.

And looks at the photo frame which he gifted her. It was the same photo frame which mitali was going to throw it. But he didn't let her.

She looked at her..Neil's and Mowgli's pic in the frame.. a family pic.

Neil hugged her.

Everyone smiled looking at them.

Avni.. ab tu bhi Neil ka fast tod de.. said shweta.

Avni gets shocked. She looked at Neil. He nodded slightly.

Avni is so lucky to have such a husband.. a woman said.

Khanna Saab kuch sikhiye apne bete se.. said shweta looking at prakash.

Aap kahe toh Mai aapke liye roj fast rakh sakta hu.. said prakash.

Ha rehne dijiye aap toh..

Everyone laughs.

Chalo Bhai inhe chodo.. avni chal Neil ka fast tod.. said bebe.

Avni takes water and made him drink it. She took the sweets and fed him.

Tumne mere liye fast kyu Kiya.. asked avni.

Jese tumne mere safety ke liye fast Kiya vese Maine tumhare liye Kiya.. said Neil.

Avni hugged him tightly. He reciprocated the hug. Just then Mowgli came to them.

Aap mujhe bhul Gaye??

Avneil looked at him. They kneeled down to his level and hugged him.

Everyone adored their bond.

Soon everyone left and the khanna family returned to their rooms. Avni tucked Mowgli to bed and came in her room. As she entered she saw her hubby waiting for her.

She went to him.

Mowgli??

So Gaya.. said avni.

Avni changed her clothes and came out. She sat besides Neil.

Kya soch rahe ho?? Said avni who saw her hubby in some deep thought.

Vahi ki hamari life kitni change ho gayi.. Mai roj bhagwaan (God) se pray karta tha ki voh tumhe mujhe lauta de.. 10 saal.. mujhe laga ki tum mere paas kabhi nahi aaogi.. par.. hum dono phir ek saath ho Gaye..

Sorry Neil.. sab mere.. but couldn't continue as Neil kept his hand on her mouth.

I told you na.. that it was not your fault.. aur yeh sab baaton ko chodo.. ab humhe hamare present ke baar mein sochna chahiye.. saying this he removes his hand.

He comes close to her. Her breath hitched. Still after so many years he managed to take her breath away.

Ne..Neil..

Vese Mowgli keh Raha tha ki use ek sister chahiye.. jiske saath voh khel sakhe.. so uski wish Puri Kar de..?? And winks at her.

Avni blushes. She hit him lightly on his arm. Neil chuckled in response. They both layed down and slept cuddling each other.
