Riley and I were having a sleepover, and before you say anything, it's something we always did on Saturdays. We were sitting on bed, as it was my week to host. We were laughing about each other with how we had these crushes on each other, and it was only on Friday that we decided, "Oh, maybe we should do something with this. We both like each other, and it will only get awkward if we just hold it in." Yeah, we must have been dumb children. "Hey Flora, do you think we could be match-maker for a few of the couples in our class? It's obvious some people like each other, and they're just too shy to say it," Riley said.
"That'd be fun!" I exclaimed, "We could go over to one of them and insist they ask out the person they like, and then when they do, they'll get the wonderful surprise of willingness on the other side!"
"Yes!" He exclaimed, "That would be so much fun, and we'd get to help people out."
"Yep, we could do this all throughout high school, when we leave middle school, and in college-wait. We are going to apply for all the same colleges and go to the same one, right?" I asked.
"Of course! We're probably going to end up being roommates, even if this relationship thing doesn't work out," Riley said, his face suddenly turning solemn.
"I know they always say middle school and high school relationships never work out, but I think this one will," I replied, "Think, my parents were high school sweethearts."
"Yeah!" He exclaimed, "And one of our teacher's brother met their future wife in the seventh grade."
"Exactly," I answered, "There's a chance we could last forever."
"I hope that chance is going to happen," he replied, "Because that means I can spend forever with my best friend."
"Aw, that's the sweetest thing anybody's ever said to me," I smiled.
"And it's true," he laughed, giving me a big bear hug and causing me to laugh as well.
"Let go of me!" I exclaimed with a laugh.
"Never!" He replied. We sat there laughing for at least ten minutes.
"Hey, you want to play truth or dare?" I asked.
"Sure," he replied, releasing me from his grip, "I'll go first. Truth or dare?"
      "Um, truth," I answered.
"How long have you had a crush on me, before you asked me out, of course?" He asked.
      "Five years," I replied shyly.
"Five years?!" He exclaimed, "My goodness, that's a really long time. Well, I guess I shouldn't make fun of you. I had a crush on you for about that long as well."
"Wow," I replied, "It's kind of funny that we both had crushes on each other, and talked about how amazing our crushes were, and didn't ever mention their names or catch on that we were thinking of the other person. It's strange how our minds work."
       "Yeah," Riley replied.
"Ok, truth or dare?" I asked.
       "Dare," he responded.
"Ok," I replied, "Close your eyes, then give me a hug when I say I'm ready, okay?"
"Okay," he said. He closed his eyes, and I stood up and ran off to my bathroom. I grabbed a towel and got it soaking wet and smeared toothpaste all over it. I walked back to you bedroom and sat down next to Riley.
"I'm ready, you can hug me," I said. However, when Riley turned to hug me, I gave him the towel to hug. When he came in contact with the towel, his eyes went wide open. He jumped back away from the towel to the other side of the bed.
"You said I would hug you not the filthy towel! I did not agree to this!" He exclaimed.
"Fine," I groaned, "Give me a hug then." He came over and gave me a hug, but I placed the towel on his back. "There, now we're both happy."
"Okay, well, at least let me go change my shirt," he said.
"Okay, go ahead," I smiled, "I still got to put the towel on you."
"I know," he said, grabbing a t-shirt and running off to my bathroom. He came back in about thirty seconds wearing a new shirt and holding the wet, gross one like it was a dead rat. He threw the dirty shirt on his bag and sat back down on the bed. "Okay, my turn. Truth or dare?"
         "Dare," I replied.
"I dare you to kiss me," he said.
"Okay," I said. I leaned in and gave him a peck on the lips. "Easy."
"I really like you in that way, Flora," he smiled.
         "Same here," I agreed.
