Rebecca walked into the labs of the Avengers tower, and sat at her desk to begin her work. Bruce walked in not five minutes later, "Morning." He greeted, "Morning" Becca replied with a smile, "Have you seen Tony?" She asked, "I thought he was with Pepper last night, so I doubt we'll see him until noon." Bruce said, "Oh, okay..." She replied sadly, and got back to her work. Bruce is Rebecca's best friend, they've been best friends since day one, so Bruce knows about her little crush on Tony. "I know you hate having to see them together, but while he's with her, you can't do anything about it." Bruce said, looking up from his paperwork and making eye-contact with her. "I know.." She replied.

Tony walked in at lunch time, Bruce and Becca were eating chips and joking around. "Hello children, what'd I miss?" He asked, Becca rolled her eyes, Bruce coughed. "What? Did I ruin a moment?" Tony joked, "You didn't miss anything, Tony. We've just been working all morning." Becca replied. "Well, sorry I'm late, me and Pepper went out last night, things got a little wild." He bragged. Bruce and Becca both got back to work. After about an hour of working, Tony's phone rang, he answered, it was Pepper. "Hey, what's up?" He asked, Becca couldn't hear what the person on the other line was saying, but Tony left the room and she heard shouting from his end. 

Becca looked at Bruce and read his mind, "Here they go again.." She read. "Stop that!" Bruce said when he saw Becca looking at him, "Sorry, but is that Pepper on the other line? Have they been fighting?" She asked, "Yeah, she came in here a couple days ago when you were out, and she yelled at Tony for something, I didn't really pay attention." He explained, Becca frowned and nodded. Tony walked back in and huffed out a breath. "Everything okay?" Becca asked while cleaning her glasses, "Just fucking peachy." He replied, clearly annoyed. 

Becca felt her heart break a little, it hurt to see him hurt, she could feel his emotions after all. "Tony-" "Just drop it, everything's fine!" Tony shouted, Becca opened her mouth to respond, but Bruce patted her shoulder while he walked out of the lab to give them space. 

"Tony I know everything's not okay, I can feel it." She told him, "I don't want to talk about it, so just leave it, alright?" He snapped, "Fine, I'll just read your mind and figure out what's wrong, so I can make it all better." She said with a serious tone, "Why would you want to make it better?" Tony asked, "Because you're my friend, and it kills me to see you hurting. It kills me to see you in general.." She mumbled that last part. "Just tell me what happened between you and Pepper, maybe I can help you feel better." She added, "I don't know, she just blew up on me for no reason. I thought we worked things out last night, but I guess her waking up without me isn't okay, but I had work to do. She said if I don't focus on what's important, then we're done.." He explained. 

"I'm sorry, Tony." Becca replied and hugged him, he hugged back, "Why are you always so nice to me? I've noticed that even if something small is bothering me, you fix it...why?" He asked, "Because Tony, you're my frien-" "Bull, it's more then that, isn't it? You may be able to read minds, but I can read people." He interrupted her, Becca felt herself being put in the spotlight. 

"Well I, I um-" She was cut off by a pair of lips attaching to hers. Tony was kissing her! "What do I do?" She asked herself, she began to kiss back. "I've noticed the way you look at me, and I guess that's why em and Pepper have been drifting apart, because I've been with the wrong person." Tony said after he parted from you. "I really like you Tony.." She finally said aloud, "I like you too, Bec." He replied, and texted Pepper that they were finished. "Back to work?" Becca asked, "Only if you want to.." Tony winked and kissed her again. The End**********
