Your Nightmares

(Just like last chapter, but now it's you who's getting the unfortunate night terrors)

Preference 22

Steve: He burns him in his soul that he can't protect you from your subconscious. You get nightmares at least once a month, and they aren't very pleasant. He does what he can; comforts you, stays with you. But there's only so much he can do for something like this.

Bruce: When you have a nightmare you wake up and sit on the edge of the bed, and remind yourself that it's not real. Bruce wakes up sometimes, and sits behind you. He wraps his arms around your body and rests his cheek on your back.

Tony: With your (and his) weird sleeping schedule he isn't always there when you have a nightmare. Sometimes you'll fall asleep at your desk and dream of terrifying things, you'll typically wake yourself up and go to bed. But when you're together in bed and get a nightmare, he wakes you up and reassures you that you're okay.

Clint: You're pretty similar to Clint about nightmares. Not getting them very often, and talking them out when you do get them. But the one clear difference between the two of you is that yours are about not only Clint, but about your job as a doctor. You land up having to witness death quite a lot, and although you know that you did everything you could sometimes it's just gets to you. Their sobs, their faces, their cries out for mercy. But Clint always reminds you that they are in a better place, and that it's never your fault.

Thor: You don't get them very often, but when you do, you like to handle it on your own. Taking walks outside to clear your head, making tea. The whole 9 yards. You don't tell him about your nightmares when they come around.

Loki: When you have a nightmare, you cry in your sleep. Loki is a light sleeper and hears it immediately. He gathers you in his arms and rocks you like a baby, until you've stopped crying.

Bucky: He knows all too well about what it's like have nightmares. They frequent the Barnes and (y/l/n) house too often for either of your comfort. When you wake up crying he is always there, to hold you in his arms. He strokes your hair and reminds you, of how much he loves you.

Natasha: Even though Natasha will never allow you to know that she gets nightmares, she knows that you get them. It's inevitable. She's gone all the time, and is always in danger. Your dreams are plagued with thoughts of losing your spy girl. She's almost never home when they occur, so you go through it alone. Crawl into the bathroom and get in the tub. Fully clothed, and you sob. You don't know why getting in the tub is such an instinct to you, but you do it. It crushes Natasha, but it's not like she really has a choice.

Pietro: He never knows quite how to help you. But he does his best. Unlike him you don't wake up from nightmares, they usually last the whole night and you wake up the next morning feeling terrified of everything or exhausted. When he does wake you up he holds you against his chest. You almost never cry or anything, and sometimes he wonders if this helps you at all. But what he doesn't know, is that it does help. You don't need to talk about it or cry it out. You just need him to physically hold you, to reassure yourself that you're safe and that he still loves you.
