I Get Introduced to the Butler (not really)
Chapter dedication to someone who commented on this story but I can't remember.
"I'm back." I grumbled, stormin' like a stormtrooper into the main entrance of the Avenger's Tower.
After my little escapeed to Hell yesterday/last night, I went home and thought about everything. Aphrodite coming to my house, Annabeth being somewhat alive, going down to the Underworld, seeing and meeting with Nico.
In a way, I was glad that I didn't have to go out and meet Hades, but seeing Nico made me anxious that he might go back to camp and report my whereabouts. The last thing I needed was several-hundred, heavily-armed, somewhat multicultural/specied, demigods demanding where I've been for that last fourish years.
Knowing my luck that'd sound like an appropriate initiation into the Avengers. Fun.
"Where are the Avengers?" I wondered aloud, turning around a couple of times. I walked towards the elevator and entered.
"The Avengers are currently on level twelve having a meeting about you, sir." A polite, British-sounding voice resonated throughout the elevator.
"What the heck!" I cried, unsheathing my gun and pointing it around the elevator. "Who are you?" I cried, pointing my gun wildly at every direction. There was no one else there, and the polite voice that came out of nowhere was freaking me out.
Remember the intercom lady? The reasonable part of my brain spoke. Maybe it's something like that.
"My apologies, sir, I am Jarvis, Mr. Stark's automated butler, I am taking the elevator to the twelfth floor as you requested."
"Oh," I lowered my gun. "Sorry Jarvis, and uh, thank you." I squared my shoulders. Today, I was wearing a black dress pants and a white, button-up shirt. My hair wasn't combed but slightly tousled. There was a gun on my belt in it's holster and I always carried Riptide in my pocket.
I guess you could say that I looked quite smart and formal walking out of the elevator. Annabeth, on seeing me, would either be shocked or snort milk through her nose. I'm going to see her again, soon.
I had a slight grin on my face and I probably looked half-crazed walking into the boardroom. All the Avengers were around the table, some looked like they were holographical. Maybe some were calling in from across the world?
They all turned to me as I walked in. I caught the last of the sentence being spoken. "... Even Fury can't dig up his past."
"Because there is nothing to find." I finished. "Fury doesn't know what he'd looking for and because he doesn't know that, he won't find what he needs. Wanda, do you want to do the mental evaluation now?"
Wanda's eyes flickered to Bruce and Tony, Tony was too busy rubbing his face in annoyance. Bruce nodded to Wanda who nodded to me. She excused herself from the room and I followed her. Together, we piled into the elevator.
"You are quite the mystery for them." She said aloud as we were lifted upwards. I noted her accent.
"Everyone comes from a past that they regret." I said. "I just regret mine especially. But I've been given a chance to change that."
"You are going to leave the Avengers?" She asked inquisitively, sending a sideways glance my way.
"I don't think so, this is more temporary, call it a side quest of sorts." I humoured myself with the name. Side Quests were the names we gave to missions before the Titan War, ones that were adventures but weren't really quests.
Wanda guided me though a dark hallway and told me to lie on a padded gurney of sorts. She strapped in my wrists with velcro. "Just a precaution, right?" I grinned, my voice raspy, my throat was closing up from the anxiety I was experiencing.
"Last time that we didn't use precautions, we had someone flying through the wall." She chucked to herself at the memory. "We decided to add this. As a precaution." She added the last bit, pointedly looking at me.
I rolled my eyes in response.
Wanda sat at a chair above my head and held her hands in a position on either side of my head. "Today, I will be testing your mental barriers in response to mind control. When I get in, what I see is completely confidential unless if is immediately life threatening. Understand?"
"Well, I'd rather you not go into my mind at all, but-"
Wanda's hands widened and I instantly found an attack crash down on my mind. Suddenly, we were inside, I threw up barriers; brick walls, mountains, the annoying neon witches hat's. Wanda brushed them aside with ease, but I continued to fight. She couldn't get to my memories, no, she wasn't allowed. I brushed off her attacks and it was like a physical battle had begun in my mind.
She attacked, blow after blow. I defended, and occasionally pushed her back. It seemed like the both of us were about to crash from exhaustion until I focused back into the real world. I was panting, sweat was dripping down my brow. I looked over to Wanda, who was bent over, panting as well. She looked weary.
"You put up a good fight." She managed. "Now is time for round two." She slide on two, silver-looking fingerless gloves that was in the X-design. But like, thousands of small ones. They reached up to just under her elbows.
"Are you sure we just can't postpone round two?" I managed, trying for a charming smile. Wanda shook her head vigorously, her eyes flashed with insult, anger or challenge. I wasn't sure which.
"You do not beat a Russian." She said in her accent, so dangerously, that I feared for my life.
She sat down in her seat, leaning over me, I noted the bead of sweat forming on her brow. That can't be good.
"Are you ready?" She asked.
"Does it-" Before I could finish my sentence, we were thrown back into the weird, grey space. We were fighting again, I was defending and she was attacking. It wasn't hand-to-hand combat. More like me, trying to push her away with any means necessary. The second time that we went back though, her attacks were stronger. It was like she'd taken five hundred fizzy drinks and managed to have gotten a crazy burst of energy.
Defending against her attacks became harder, I kept fighting until I was mentally, on my knees.
Then she pushed through.
Everything exploded into a burst of bright colour and memory. Going throughout school, all my misadventures, then Grover, Mr Bruner, the first day, the Lightning Bolt, the Minotaur, my mother, Riptide, Camp Half-Blood, Luke, Chiron, Annabeth, Lotus Hotel, Ares, the Furies, Hades, Zeus, my father, the Olympic Council, the Cave, Clarisse, Tyson, the claiming, sneaking out, Luke, the Princess Andromeda, the casket, the Sea of Monsters, Grover, nobody, Thalia, Annabeth being abducted, Nico, Bianca, the Hunters, Camp, the quest, Dam, Zöe, holding up the sky, Luke, Annabeth's father, Kronos, Hunter's immortality, the labyrinth, Mrs. O Leary, Nico, Daleus, Annabeth, Luke, the battle, Rachel, Charles, death, Kronos, Luke, Poseidon, Tyson, Camp, Nico, invincibility, Manhattan, the battle of Manhattan, Thalia, Annabeth, Grover, demigods, fighting, war, death, Selina, death, prophecy, death, Luke, Kronos, death, fighting, death, duelling, death, Luke's death, presents, death, Camp, Rachel, prophecy, Annabeth.
Suddenly we were transported back, Wanda was breathing heavily, a horrified expression upon her face. I looked up at her. "You've only seen half of it." I said sadly. We were transported back again.

The memory was so sharp and in such vivid colour that Wanda jerked back. Her eyes wild, sweat dripping down her forehead. He steadied her breathing. I noted the presence of tears on her cheeks.
"What." She said in her accent, her voice trembling. "Was that?"
So I uh, updated I guess? You guys chose blood I guess. So that's what you got. That ^ is honestly the summary of the Percy Jackson series, if you wanted me to include the Kane chronicles, see my lawyer, because that's too many books to memorise.
See my profile for my somewhat reliable updating schedule.
Some of the ideas you guys presented I'm going to include and that's given me an idea of what to do in the couple of chapters after, but for now. What do you think Wanda's reaction is going to be? Will she go to the Avengers?
So, death or scrutiny?
