A/N: Thanos didn't kill Loki in IW so he was with Thor and the Avengers in Endgame.

"Thanos killed my sister on that planet.", Nebula said obviously hiding her emotions.

"Me and Loki are not on killing-each-other term, so... I think everything is going to work out fine.", Thor claimed taking a sip of coke and then giving it to Loki. Trickster sipped and gave it back to his brother.

After a minute of silence Loki sighed, "Ah, Gamora... I don't remember being you two close... Like sisters."

"Well, I don't remember you telling me something good about Thor that days.", Thor gave Loki an annoyed glare,"It's been 11 years, things have changed.", she answered.

"Siblings-boom.", Steve said. Everyone blankly looked at him.

"You know, baby-boom in 30's and siblings-boom in 2000's.", he explained.

"This joke was dumb, Rogers. Just like you.", Tony scoffed.

"Enough arguing, boys. We have more important things to do.", Natasha stated.

"This planet looks mesmerizing.", Loki mumbled crumbling on the rocks.

"Asgard was more beautiful.", Thor urged.

"I think it's time for us to move on from Ragnarok. I'm done drinking with you like two dumbass alcoholics."

"Let's leave this plan for the near future."

They reached the top of the mountain and saw the Red Skull.

"Who's this freak?", Loki whispered in Thor's ear.

"Who are you?", Thor asked confidently.

"Son of Odin and son of Laufey."

"Thank you for reminding me of that.", Loki muttered.

"I'm your guide to the soul stone. Follow me."

The Red Skull led the brothers to the edge of the mountain.

"What should we do to get the stone?", Thor asked frowning.

"To get the stone you should make a great sacrifice. Soul for soul."

"What?", Thor squinted. Loki's face expression changed and he became pale. He could guess what the Red Skull meant, but wasn't sure.

"You should sacrifice your loved one."

Thor and Loki looked at each other swallowing. They sat on the nearest rock in silence.

"I'm the one who needs to do it.", Thor mumbled.

"What?!", Loki sharply turned around to face Thor.

"I'm sorry, brother.", Thor stood up, "Goodbye.", he ran to the edge but Loki made a barrier with his magic.

"I'm not letting you go!",he said tearing up, "Your friends, the Earth, other realms... They all need you."

"I want to do something good after I failed everyone!", Thor shouted and hit the ground with stormbreaker, so the lightning blast through Loki backwards.

Thor ran again. Loki stood up, ran after him screaming, "No, Thor!"

God of thunder jumped from the cliff, but brother's hand stopped him from falling.

"Don't resist! I should do this so I can be forgived for horrible things I've done! You should help your friends, your people in New Asgard! No one can do it except of you! So stop being an idiot and climb back!", Loki said quickly inhaling.

"I'm leaving this to you! Take the stormbreaker, I trust it to you! Prove them that you're not who they think you are! Let me go!"

"A monster? I'll consider myself as one, if I let you go! I don't need your stormbreaker, I need you!"

"Just let me go! Let me do this!"

Thor started to twitch to get rid of Loki's hand, "I love you, Loki..."

"Stop it, no!!!", Loki cried out.

But it was useless... Thor let go of brother's hand and fall in abyss... The last thing he did is smiling... He wanted Loki to remember him smiling... Loki sat on the ground and tears started to fall one by one from his red eyes...

He was sobbing in desperation, when he found himself in the water. He opened his hand and saw the yellow glowing stone.

"I won't betray you, brother...", he whispered and went back to their timeline.

"Where's Thor?", Bruce asked sadly.

Loki was silently holding the stone and the stormbreaker on the other hand. Tears were falling but there was no sobbing, no emotions... Just tears and red eyes.

Everyone understood what happened to their friend. They were shocked, so no one said anything.

"How- How did it happen?", Steve asked carefully. He could understand that this topic was painful for Loki.

"Just take the stone and leave me alone. I hope mortals will be happy now.", Loki said in cold voice and handed the stone to Steve. Next he left the room

"I think we should talk to Loki. He's been in his room for hours. It hurts... A lot... Especially for him... But we need to handle this together, not suffering in the different corners. We have a duty and we need to do this for something bigger than just us.", Steve said sobbing on the bench.

"You're right, Cap.", Tony said and headed to Loki's room.

"Tell us, Loki, what happened there?", Nat asked in low voice.

Loki was sitting on his bed. His face was pale and swollen. Suddenly he stood up and started to speak.

"You want to know what happened? Well, he died! Died! He jumped off the cliff, when I was the one who needed to jump! He sacrificed himself for this damn stone! Soul for soul. And for what? For saving half of the Universe. We were lucky to have each other after the snap, while everyone else were left desperate and in tears! I'm pretty sure that you, humanity, will never remember him doing it! He'll be forgotten in a few years! Why? Because you, all of you, are selfish, stupid, insatiable, untrustworthy, greedy and arrogant creatures, who never sees what others have done for them! All of your efforts to show these people that they're safe were failures. You know, let's start from the beginning. You saved these bastards from being totally killed multiple times (including from me) and what happened? They decided to forbid you to do this work! They were displeased! That's how they thanked you! I can't blame you for this but, you know... If five years ago Mr. Super-big-ego Stark and Mr. Super-faithful-patriot Rogers weren't arrogant and gathered together to fight... Him... Then my brother wouldn't blame himself for not being able to stop... Him... Because together we would've beat him already and there would be no need in collecting the stones again! Your friends wouldn't die and I'd have my brother! And now I lost the only family I had! The only one person who cared about me...", Loki was sobbing, when he ended his speech. His voice broke in the middle of it and he couldn't stop himself from yelling and crying out loudly...

"He was our friend too, Loki. I'm sorry for this...", Tony said rubbing his forehead.

"Friend? Where were you these last years? When he needed your support the most."

All of them were sobbing in silence. Then they decided to leave Loki alone.

"It was kind of his fault too.", Tony mumbled.

"That's the reason he's so mad. He blames himself.", Nat muttered.

"To be honest, I didn't think that Loki has so strong feelings for Thor. He never showed it.", Clint said looking at his teammates.

"He shows it with his deeds. I remember, when he came to Asgard to save Thor and their people, when he'd said that wanted their paths to divide a few hours before.", Bruce explained.

"We should wait a little. He'll accept his loss at the end of the day. We too... But now... We should give Thor what he wanted the most. We should bring back everyone.", Nat stated.

The team was working on the new gauntlet. Suddenly they heared the footsteps coming from the corridor. It was Loki. He entered the room bowing his head. Everyone looked at his way.

"I'm sorry for the bullshit I spill out before. I was-"

"We know. It's okay.", Nat mumbled with a slight smile. He smiled back.

Loki came closer to the team and sighed, "I wanted to say that... I want to help you. I want to continue my brother's job. He trusted me the stormbreaker and asked me to help you. I don't want to betray him. I already feel like a monster for letting him do that. And for other things too... So... Do you accept me?"

The teammates looked at each other wondering if this was real. Years ago Loki was the one, who made them a team... A family... And now him asking to become a part of it... Felt weird.

Steve smiled at him and said, "We accept you. If Thor trusted you, we trust you too." The others nodded.

"Let's get this mission done then.", Loki inhaled and smiled at Steve. This smile was filled with pain and now even a smile couldn't hide it. But Thor smiled at him before dying... So, he'll smile more often... He'll smile for him now...
