Crunching of leaves fill doses of air as Logan helped you over a rock.

Something about walking with Logan felt different, other than most people complaining about walking through the woods at... 5 in the morning.

"Feeling ok, princess?" Logan asked, feeling you hold his hand.

You slowly placed your head against his shoulder, looking the other way.

"Remember yesterday about my family seeing me for lunch?" You asked, feeling tears in your eyes.

Logan knew where this was going.

Logan hated how this was going.

"They didn't show up, did they?" Logan asked, squeezing your hand.

"Not a single one." You answered. Logan groaned as you wiped your eyes.

"Why bother with them anymore? This is the 4th time." Logan hopped over a tree trunk. You hopped over and allowed Logan to lower you to the ground.

"I.. I don't know. I feel like I owe them for SOMETHING." You hugged your chest, walking ahead.

Logan followed you before placing his hand on your lower back.

"I'm going to be honest with you. You owe them nothing." You slowly turned to Logan, seeing his soft eyes. "Just as a guardian alone, getting you somewhere safe is the bare necessity."

Your eyes watered up as you slowly nodded. Logan pulled you in before hugging you, feeling you hug him back.

Logan kissed your forehead as he rubbed your lower back, reassuring you that he was here for you. You pressed your face into his shoulder, feeling every bit of stress leave your body.

"Come on. Let's head back." Logam suggested. You nod before you both started making your way back.
