You stood beside Tony as he looked at the suit he had stopped fixing up. The golden and white suit was finally done with the proper adjustments meaning it was time for him to take off.

Tony: Alright. Let's get these bad boys into the launch pad and find that lab.

Y/N: Yeah. After that we can.....wait.

You shook your head and looked at Tony.

Y/N: Why did you say that like a pural when it should be a singular?

Tony grinned as he clicked a button the floor next to the suit opened up and and a second one appeared right now to it. It looked like a gold and white version of your current suit.

Y/N: Tony....what the hell?

Tony: You're coming with me. I could use your power incase things go sideways. Not that I couldn't handle it on my own.

You shook your head as you looked at the suit.

Y/N: I don't know how to fly this thing. Especially in space.

Tony: Which is why I'm controlling the flight pattern. You'll have full control once we make it to the lab. It'll be just like you're using your suit now.

You looked at the grown man like he was mad before you threw your hands up.

Y/N: Yep. Whatever. I don't care. Fuck it.

You walked away to leave Tony with transferring the suits to the launch pad.

Looks like you were going into space.

You stood there in your new suit beside Tony while JARVIS gave you the report.

JARVIS: All systems are in the green, Sir. But I must warn you that a large storm has moved directly into your flight path.

Y/N: Wonderful.

Tony: Never rains but it pours. Well, we can't wait any longer.

You flexed your hand in wait before the coms switched channels.

Kamala: Guys, I loaded up some music to give you an extra boost.

Tony/YN: Oh no.

Kamala: Don't worry. It's not mine. You can do this!

Tony smirked and activated his helmet while you activated yours.

Kamala: Y/N?

You realized your helmet was now on private mode.

Y/N: Yeah?

Kamala: Please come back alive. I kinda want to keep you around a bit longer.

You chuckled.

Y/N: Yeah. I'll definitely try.

Y/N: Especially for you.

The roof opened up and the ground began to open the vents. You prepared yourself as Tony began the countdown.

Tony: 3.

You can do this.

Tony: 2.

You can do this.

Tony: 1.

You can't do this.

Tony: Blast off.

Your thrusters activated alongside Tony's and suddenly, you found yourself off the ground and flying towards the atmosphere. In your helmet, "Flight of Icuras" by Iron Madien began to play.

Tony: Whoooooooohooooooo!

Y/N: Ahhhhhhhhh! This this pretty cool!

As you and Tony flew through the storm itself, you could hear Kamala's voice.

Kamala: You guys are flying directly into the storm.

Tony: There's no turning back.

As you flew, you felt yourself jerk and twitch from the storm's effect on your suit. Tony's suit lead yours so staying on the path was entirely on him. The storm worsen the higher you flew up.

Tony: You alright, kid?

Y/N: As well as I can be. Never done this before.

Tony: Talk about an exciting week.

Suddenly, you and Tony heard a pop. You looked down and saw it was one of your boots. That can't be good.

You finally emerged from the clouds and you saw the vastness of space all around.

Tony: JARVIS? Kamala? Can anyone hear me? The storm fried my systems.

Y/N: Mine too. Also, uh, my foot is on fire. Could use a little boost.

Tony: Enject booster. You're gonna have to do it manually.

Tony did his, and you kicked yours off.

Y/N: That was a close call.

Tony: You're telling me.

You both looked forward and saw the fin from the satellite.

Y/N/Tony: Ah, shit!

You both crashed through it which sent your spinning out of control. Tony tried to grab onto anything and you thought quickly. You fired off a line which connected to the satellite which kept you from flying away. You then fired off another line and caught Tony.

You pulled him towards the lab and he finally reached a hatched which he began to open. You let go of your first line and pulled yourself to him to help. It was getting a bit hard to breath.

You finally got it open and Tony pulled on it which released the airlock inside. You both pulled yourselves inside and Tony hit the panel which returned the gravity and gave you oxygen. It also sent you falling to the roof/floor.

You and Tony deactivated your helmets and caught your breath.

Y/N: We <cough cough> almost died.

Tony: Yeah.

Y/N: That was so cool.

Tony: Yeah.

You both pushed yourselves up and looked around. This was it. The lab you all had been so desperately looking for. You activated your helmet again and pulled out your gun just in case.

You both entered the hall which was dark and seemingly abandoned.

Y/N: What the hell?

You walked over to a panel where Tony began to hack away. He unlocked the code and a screen popped up.

Tony: Alright. Let's see what we got here.

He hit a key and you both looked at it. Regenerative Serum?

Tony: Wait a minutes. This doesn't make sense.

Y/N: Regenerative Formula? Guess that explains Tarleton's massive head.

The screen changed to show the host.

Tony: That's the source. Probably some poor Inhuman.

Y/N: Then let's go help them.

Tony nodded and unlocked the next door. You and him headed that way.

Tony: No sweat. Find the Inhuman, no more regenerative formula, no more Adaptoids, high fives all around.

You nodded in agreement. You swung yourself across the small gaps while Tony flew over them and the two of you made your way through the long hall. Everything seemed so empty.

Y/N: Not that I'm complaining but, where is everyone?

Tony: Good question. Let's just count our blessings while we can.

You finally reached the door where the subject was being held and Tony activated the panel. As the door open, ice fell off and you were hit with a chill.

Y/N: Did they freeze them?

The door opened to reveal a room filled with ice with a large round metal ball like object in the middle. As you both approached it, it spun around and dropped to the floor. You raised your gun while Tony raised his blasters.

Tony: That's not Ominous at all.

Y/N: Keep your guard up.

The ball began to open up as you watched. Your helmet told you there was a heartbeat inside so whatever it was, it was alive.

Then, a person came into view. The cell pushed them forward and revealed the person to you. You looked at the man for a moment before it hit you.

Tony: Oh my God. Cap!

Y/N: Steve?

You holsters your gun and ran up to him with Tony right next to you. You both looked at him and began to undo his binds as quickly as you could.

Tony: Please be alive.

He grabbed Steve's head and shook it slightly.

Tony: Steve? Steve?

Cap grunted and slowly opened his eyes and saw Tony.

Cap: Tony? What are you..? What is all this stuff? Where am I?

Tony returned to undoing his binds just as you finished his leg. Once Tony unhooked him, Cap fell forward in a dead limp. Tony caught him as you took a step back.

Tony: I got you buddy.

You stood there and watched the two as Tony held Cap up. You could see the tesrs of joy in Tony's eyes.

Cap: Tony? Are you hugging me?

Tony: What? No. I'm just making sure...you don't fall.

Cap smirked.

Cap: Then why aren't you letting go?

Tony: I just thought...we all just thought...we thought we lost you.

Cap: I'm so confused.

Tony supported Cap on his left while you took his right. Cap looked at you confused for a moment.

Cap: Maria?

You deactivated your helmet and showed him your face.

Y/N: Hey, Cap.

Cap: Y/N? You're...so much older. Why are you...what's going on?

Y/N: We'll explain it later. Right now, we need to get out of here.

Cap: Wait wait wait wait.

Tony kept walking as Steve got his own footing. He looked at the two of you.

Cap: Tarleton. Did he survive?

Tony: Tarleton? Who cares? What?

Cap: He was too close to the explosion.

You and Tony looked at each other.

Tony: Yeah. He survived thanks to you, apparently. And Monica if you believe the news stories.

You shook your head as Steve stood on his own.

Y/N: Think you can walk?

Cap: I can manage.

Tony: Good. Let's go.

Steve followed you and Tony as you began your journey to find a way out of here.

Steve: So, what's the plan?

Tony: Find an escape pod and, um, escape.

Steve: You're winging this, aren't you?

Tony: I honestly didn't think I'd get this far.

Y/N: Wait, what?

Tony: Joking! I'm just joking.

It didn't sound like it. You swung yourself over a small gap, which Cap just cleared by jumping. You then swung across a larger gap, which Cap cleared by running alongside the wall.

Y/N: Wow. Just like riding a bike, I guess.

Cap: Y/N, how old are you?

Y/N: 17. You were in here for 5 years which, to be fair, is a power nap for you.

Steve: And where is here exactly?

Y/N: Uh, space.

You all entered an elevator but everything locked down just as a screen of Monica appeared.

Cap: What is this?

Monica: Captain Rogers. Don't leave us just yet.

Tony: Monica! Long time no see. Can't imagine your buddy Tarleton was too thrill to learn that you've been using superhero blood to replace superheroes.

Monica: He leaves the details to me. Stop what you're doing. Now.

You raised a brow before you smirked.

Y/N: Wait a second. Tarleton doesn't know about any of this. Does he?

Monica: And he never will.

The screen turned off and a voice could be heard over head.

PA: Self destruction initiated.

Tony: Uh oh. I think we made her mad.

There was a pop and a fire began to start behind you.

Cap: Tony?!

Tony: Working on it!

He finally got the doors open and the three of you ran out. Along the windows, bots tried to attack you by breaking through the glass.

Cap: What the hell?!

Tony: Oh, yeah. Don't mind the killer robots.

Tony began to hack into the next door but more bots emerged from the roof. You pulled out your pistol and a knife while Cap just balled his fists.

Cap: Hurry!

Tony: For a dead guy, you're really pushy.

You fired off two shots and took the smaller bots while Cap lunged at the bigger one. Man, was it good to have him back. You stabbed into one of the bots chest and fired off a shot into it's head before you threw the knife at the other.

Cap grabbed the bigger bots head and slammed it down into the ground without much effort.

Tony: Screw it! I need help over here to pry it open.

You and Cap rushed back over and grabbed the door. Together, you all pulled it open and you all ran through. Suddenly, the bots got through the glass and began to flood into the room.

Cap: No time for a fight! Run!

The three of you made a break for it and ran down the hall just as an explosion erupted outside. The entire station began to turn and you shot out a line to prevent yourself from falling down. Cap hit the glass but got back and contiued running. The station kept spinning out of control and erupting into flames as you raced to the escape pods.

Tony reached the door first and tried to hack it while you and Cap reached him. The flood of robots was still on your tail so you pulled out your gun and started blasting away.

Cap: Tony?!

Tony: I almost got it. I need you to buy me some time.

Cap looked at a nearby panel on the wall and pulled it off. It was round, so he did what he does best. He threw it towards the bots which destroyed a good number of them.

The doors opened, you all ran in, and they closed just as the big explosion happened. The pod launched but it was still caught in the force which sent it spinning out of control.

Tony: We just lost the engines.

The pod was spinning and hurling into outer space.

Cap: Tony?!

Tony: Yeah, we got it. Holy shit.

He reached up and hit the shit off lever which shut the entire pod down and stopped it from going out of control. You all finally caught your breath.

You all sat there in the dark as you looked out into the never ending cosmos.

Tony: Well, good news is that we're not in a flaming ball of death.

Cap: And the bad news?

Y/N: We'll most likely suffercate first.

You all looked out the window.

Cap: Well, at least it's a good view.

Tony: It is.

The three of you sat in silence for a moment.

Tony: Well, since we're going to die anyway, any last confessions?

The two adults looked at you and you just shrugged.

Y/N: How about I ask Cap a question?

Cap: Me?

Y/N: Yeah. You were engaged to my mom, right?

Cap looked at Tony who was just as surprised as Natasha was. Cap turned back to you and nodded.

Cap: Yeah. I was. I'm...sorry about what happened.

Tony: Why did you smash the reactor core, Cap? A lot of people died.

Cap looked at his old friend and then back out the window.

Cap: There was something buried beneath the bay. Somehow linked to the reactor. Working its way to the surface every minute.

Tony: The earthquake.

Cap: I had to do something. The entire San Andreous fault was about to fold. The ocean would've swallowed up the city. Millions would've died.

Tony looked at Cap and nodded.

Tony: Never doubted you for a second. Just had to hear it, you know?

The two men went silent again before Tony turned back to you.

Tony: So, real talk since it's just us and we'll die. You and Kamala....?

Cap: Kamala? What about Nadia? Who's Kamala?

Y/N: Jesus Christ.

Tony: It's okay. This is a safe space. Let your emotions out.

You rolled your eyes.

Y/N: Yeah. I like her. Not that it really matters right now.

Suddenly, there was a pop from outside. You all looked out the window to see a myriad of mixed colors flying toward the ship. Suddenly, Thor was there with a smile.

Thor: Well look who it is. Am I always going to have to save the day?

Cap: I expect nothing less from the God of Thunder.

Tony: Hi, Thor.

Y/N: S'up?

Thor turned to Cap and smiled.

Thor: Welcome back, Captain.

Thor placed his hand on the window and began to push it back towards Earth.

You stood at the War Table with Tony, Kamala, Bruce, and Thor before Steve and Natasha walked in. You turned and smiled at him.

Y/N: Howdy, Cap. Hope you had enough rest cause the fight ain't over yet.

Cap nodded and Thor looked at you.

Thor: Now that you seem well, I have a proposition for you, Young Y/N.

You looked at him as he stepped around the table and placed his hands on his hips and flexed his chest.

Thor: Show me your strength. It has been many years.

You looked at the others. He used ro do this when you were young as well. Then again, you haven't done it since you were 11.

Y/N: Uh, you sure?

Thor: Aye! Give it all you got!

You shrugged and pulled back your arm. You coated it with electricity which surpised both Thor and Steve before you swung your fist into Thor's chest. One second he was there, the next he was flying through the broken window and out of sight.

Steve: That's....new.

You nodded and looked at him.

Y/N: A lot has changed in 5 years. Let me catch you up. But first, about my mom....

Steve: Here we go.

Y/N: Are you my dad now or what?! When were you going to tell me?! How long were you two dating?! Why were you so quiet about it?! Is that why she never let me call you Uncle Steve around her?! I need answers, damnit!

Steve just sighed as he ruffled your hair.

Steve: It's good to be back.
