Twins (Thor) Part 1

Twins (Thor)

Releasing a blast from your hands, another wave of adversaries went flying backwards and off the cliffside. There were more coming for you and your brothers and sisters in battle, but you were suddenly taken off guard when you were sort of sucked out of your own reality.

"(Y/n)," a voice known to you stated loudly. Heimdall's voice echoed loudly in your mind. Without waiting to hear if you heard him, he went on. "Thor has informed me that he and the Avengers now have possession of Loki's scepter. He wishes for you to come and retrieve it."

And just as quick as it happened, you were dropped back into your own battle-ridden reality. You looked over to your side and saw Sif fighting valiantly, and figured she could handle this with the others, and you would be able to leave.

"Lady Sif!" you called out, throwing out some more magical blasts to deter the enemies. When she glanced over to you, you kept going. "I must leave immediately. Can you handle this?"

She rolled her eyes before blindly stabbing an opponent in the chest. "What do you think?" she asked back with a smirk. You smiled proudly at her.

With closed eyes and a good stance, you looked to the sky and shouted, "Heimdall!" Within a moment, rainbow beams of light cascaded down from the sky and surrounded you on all sides. In the next, they pulled you off the ground and you went flying to Midgard.

Part of you was genuinely excited about seeing Thor. With your busy schedules, you hadn't been able to hang out and fight together like you did when him, you, and Loki were children. The three of you were an unstoppable force until you grew up. Loki went on to be more introverted while you and Thor happily stood in the spotlight and fought to protect Asgard. In your spare time, you would be with Loki and Thor as kids again. Sadly, everything changed when Thor was announced as the next king.

In a way, you were saddened that you hadn't been good enough. Loki was there for you to confide in, and he too briefly shared his jealousy. After some time you were able to move past it and feel proud of Thor. Loki never was really able to do that, and after his 'death' you had gone off and fought in some of the most remote places in the realms.

When Loki tried to take over Midgard, you refused to come back and see him. When he truly died saving Thor and his girlfriend Jane's life, you were so angry at yourself that you just never wanted to come anywhere near home. And yet, you were tasked with ensuring Loki's scepter would be safe after Thor finds it.

And that's what was happening now.

Your feet came in contact with a hard, rocky sort of substance, and you looked around you once the Bifrost had disappeared from around you. You looked slightly surprised at the fact that you were on top of a building, very very high up in the air.

But not a moment later, someone flew up to the roof and landed a few feet in front of you. Magic started to gather in your hands since you had no idea who this person was. They looked from your face, down to your hands, and then back up at you. "That's not a very nice way to greet your bother, whom you haven't seen in years."

The magic dissipated and you smiley brightly. "Thor!" You ran over to him and pulled him into a tight hug. "My gods it's been too long. I'm sorry that it takes you locating a powerful weapon for me to drop by and say hello," you said, laughing at the end.

You pulled away from each other and Thor was smiling as well. "I'm just glad Heimdall was able to reach you on such short notice." The tone suddenly shifted and the conversation became serious. "We've had the scepter in our possession for a day now, and Stark will be done with it in two more days."

"Why can't I take it now? I'm sure Father wants it safely tucked away in his vault," you said, confusion laced in your voice and on your face.

Thor sighed and shook his head lightly. "Well, he also wants to throw a party, so I agreed that he could have it to do what he needs with it until the night of the party," Thor explained. You nodded, knowing that your twin loved his new Midgardian friends and was able to work things like this out well with him.

You let out a breath and smiled once more to lighten the mood back up. "Well I guess I should try to meet some of your friends before this party then, hm?" Thor laughed and agreed, and then he was flying and carrying you into the tall building. Yes, your magical abilities allowed you to teleport and possibly fly around (you haven't worked too much on that), but in this foreign land it was easier to let Thor guide you to where you needed to go.

The two of you landed inside a decently sized room with a couple stories, a bar, and some seating options. On those seats, people were sitting and making light conversation. However, their conversation ceased when they noticed you. They all became some what guarded, but not quite hostile since you stood next to Thor.

"Friends, I'm glad to finally introduce you to my twin sister, (Y/n)!" Thor said loudly, and patted your shoulder. You smiled brightly at them, and they all relaxed at the clarification.

A woman with short red hair approached you first. "Well, I'm Natasha Romanoff. Good to meet you," she said. She held her hand out to you and you shook it happily. "I don't mean to be rude, but this is the first time any of us have heard of you."

You let go of her hand and shrugged and shoved Thor with your shoulder. "It's not entirely his fault. I've been quite busy these past few years, going from realm to realm, ensuring safety and neutralizing threats. Ever since he was announced to take father's place as king, I've been taking many more physical duties like fighting." You smirked. "Can't have this pretty face getting injured before it gets a chance on the throne."

Thor laughed heartily and then some of the others came up to introduce themselves to you. You were able to meet Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, and Clint Barton as well. It was mentioned that there were others, they just weren't there.

"Everyone else will be at the party on Saturday though, so hope you're ready to meet a lot more people," Tony Stark said.

"Well," you started, "socializing is something I remember from my days in the royal courts and balls and such." You shared a look with Thor, because he was the only one there who knew how much you loved to mess with people when meeting them for the first time.

Lady Natasha stepped back up to you. "We should probably get you a room to stay in. How long will you be here on Earth?" she asked. She looked between Thor and you.

"I will leaving with the scepter as soon as I can, so I'm afraid it won't be very long," you said. There was a quick sadness that passed over Lady Natasha's face, but no one acknowledged it (or, maybe, you were the only one who noticed it).

Thor clapped a hand on your shoulder and said, "We can maybe negotiate a return, what do you think?"

You laughed. "I'd say that's on the table."

~~

The afternoon before the party, Lady Natasha had offered to help you get ready for it. You had the ability to use an illusion to change your outfit, but she looked pretty hopeful that you'd let her help, so you agreed. Lady Natasha seemed very interesting, that was for sure.

"Pick a color, any color," she said as she showed you her closet. "I mostly have all of these for Stark's parties and some missions I go on occasionally. We seem to be about the same size anyway."

You thanked her and stepped further inside to look at each outfit. There were dresses, skirts and tops, and some pants. You were a bit more used to wearing dresses to upscale events, so you stuck to that part of the closet.

After some looking, you went with a sleeveless, a-line, (f/c) dress. It stopped at about your knees, and was very nice for twirling (you tested that out multiple times). Lady Natasha pulled out a pair of scrappy black heels to go with it and then did your makeup (you can picture your own so it matches your dress). It was a very fun experience for the two of you.

"You look beautiful, (Y/n)," Lady Natasha said once you were all ready.

You smiled (and blushed a little bit). "You look beautiful as well, Lady Natasha," you said. Even though she was great at hiding her emotions, you saw her blush a little bit, and considered that a victory.

"You can just call me Natasha. Or- well the rest of the team calls me Nat so that's also an option," she said. You laughed and agreed that 'Nat' would work.

As you both walked to the party, you could hear the music loudly playing. It was very different than an Asgardian party, but Thor had already gotten you prepared for that. Nat walked with you, engaging in some small talk before you got to the party.

Once you were through those doors, Thor whisked you away (after complimenting you and Nat) to meet some other people. Throughout most of the night you were introducing yourself to everyone and explaining that you were Thor's twin sister. That always brought up a lot of questions. Every now and then, you'd sneak a look over at Nat stationed at the bar making drinks for herself and the Avengers that showed up. She looked beautiful, you couldn't help it.

By the end of the night, most of the guests had gone except for the Avengers (who lived there, so they couldn't exactly leave) and a couple other people who worked with the Avengers like James Rhodes, Maria Hill, and Doctor Helen Cho.

Everyone was sitting around a table, drinking and laughing together. You were engaging in a small conversation with Natasha and Doctor Banner. He wouldn't leave you alone after you mentioned you could use a bit of magic to heal. You didn't tell them it had been Loki who taught you, just that you could.

The conversation between the three of you was interrupted when you watched Clint Barton go over and try to pick up Thor's hammer. You smirked, knowing he wouldn't be able to and why.

He let go of the hammer and laughed. "I still don't know how you do it!" Everyone else laughed as well.

"Smell the silent judgement?" Stark asked, and you couldn't help but laugh more.

Clint gestured to the man, then to the hammer. "Please, Stark, by all means," he said, and a challenge was started.

You watched for the next few minutes, humored at the attempts made to lift the hammer. Doctor Banner's attempt was hilarious, but you managed to hold in your laughter as to not bruise his ego any more. However, you genuinely couldn't help it when Steve was able to shift it and Thor's face went deathly pale. Steve let go and Thor tried to just laugh it off, but you could tell it was slightly concerning that he was able to lift it.

"And, Widow?" Doctor Banner asked, gesturing to Nat.

She shook her head and leaned back. "Oh, no, that's not a question I need answered," she said simply. In your mind, you felt that maybe she could lift it, but did not push. "However, I do want to see (Y/n) over here try it out." You gasped at her in fake surprise and she just smirked.

Thor laughed loudly and shook his head. You did as well, knowing that this was not the first time you and Thor had had this conversation. "No, I'd rather spare my brother's ego tonight," you said with a smile. "But we all know I'd be able to do it." Nat laughed and slightly nudged you with her shoulder.

You smiled knowingly when everyone was trying to claim that it was rigged. Thor stood up and said, "Yes, it's a very interesting theory. However, I have a simpler one." He picked the hammer up and tossed it in the air. "You're all not worthy."

While everyone else booed, you laughed loudly and took a sip of your previously forgotten drink.

A loud, high-pitched noise cut everyone off and you all cringed at it. Stark got out one of his high-tech things and tried to fix it. Then, everyone looked at something behind you. You slowly turned around to face a mangled piece of technology that sort of looked like the Iron Man suit, but there was no room for the 'man' part of that.

You were confused the whole conversation, this robot thing speaking about killing someone and then how it was called Ultron. Doctor Banner and Stark understood this by the way their faces went cold. But you just sat there, ready to fight if needed.

Nat asked about what mission he was on. After he responded, it went chaotic. Many more robot things came crashing through some glass and into the room, Steve kicked the table up as a blockade, and you made a shield of magic to block an incoming attack.

The next few minutes were chaotic, and you barely noticed when you got sliced on the leg by one of the robots. A thought crossed your mind, and your eyes widened. "The scepter," you thought. At about that time, you saw a robot fly out with it. You tried to go after it, but got attacked by another robot and had to deal with that first.

Ultron was the last one standing after Steve sliced a robot in half with his shield. Now you felt the sting of the gash on your leg, but ignored it to listen to Ultron. "There's only one path to peace: the Avengers' extinction."

~~

"I have to go back to Asgard and inform father about the scepter being stolen again," you told Thor. You were both now adorned in your typical Asgardian battle armor. He nodded and shared a small hug with you before you got up to the roof. "Heimdall!"

The trip back to Asgard was a bit nerve wracking, seeing as how you hadn't been back home in quite some time. "It all looks the same," you mentally noted when you landed. You gave Heimdall a small nod in greeting, then teleported down to outside the throne room where your father would most likely be.

The guards by the doors opened them up wide, and you stepped inside. You were right: Odin was sitting on his throne talking with some other people. Since he was talking, he didn't notice you until you were right below the throne.

He looked almost shocked at your return. You gave a small bow. "Father."

"My only daughter, has finally come back to see me," he said, and you rose back up to a normal standing position. He had recovered swiftly after the initial shock of seeing you again. "It has been too long."

You looked to the ground. "And I'm afraid my return has not come with good news," you said. Heimdall surely told him about you going to retrieve the scepter to bring it back. Odin would need to get a place in his vault ready for it.

Odin didn't look all that surprised. "You have no scepter so I can only assume it must be about that."

With a nod, you explained. "The Avengers possessed it when I first arrived but it was stolen by an adversary not long ago. I figured it wise to come down here and explain the situation rather than just leaving you in the dark."

It didn't go unnoticed by either of you that your tone wasn't the most friendly towards Odin. He hadn't exactly earned your love after everything he had done. You thought he knew that, but he didn't.

"What is wrong, my child? You are not acting like your old self," he questioned. "Perhaps the battles have changed you."

You shook your head. "No, father, the battles have not changed me. You did." It was silent for a moment as the two of you stared at each other. With a deep breath, you continued. "I left at first to escape grief- to mourn in my own way. Then I refused to come home because of the horrible job you did at parenting." Odin looked down at you with sadness, yet still looked stoic. "Because of that I was unable to say goodbye," you whispered.

Odin heard that last bit and was going to say something else, but your cleared your throat and shook your head. "I shall return to Midgard to assist in the search for the scepter. Any further news I receive I shall share through Heimdall."

You walked out of the throne room without a goodbye.

~~

So it looks like you're not getting the scepter back after all. Ultron, in an upgraded form, destroyed it so he could use the mind stone inside of it to create a being of sorts. And apparently that being is now named Vision and can lift Mjölnir. In short: you missed a lot.

"Thor, what am I supposed to tell father then? I mean we obviously can't bring the Vision to his vault and keep him there, and I don't exactly know how to explain that Ultron turned an infinity stone into a being," I asked Thor. We were getting ready to fight Ultron and I was still worrying over what I'd tell father.

Rather than being helpful, Thor shrugged. "I don't know, but I can say that after this I will go on a quest to find the rest of the infinity stones. They are dangerous and cannot be left out there in the universe unprotected." He was about to fly off, but he paused and looked at you. "Lady Natasha missed you, by the way." He stayed long enough to see you blush, then he flew off.

You were now set on finding Nat and sticking with her during this battle. She could fight quite well, so you've heard, but your magic could add a bit of extra protection from the robots.

The two of you found each other, and she didn't say a word. Instead, she grabbed your arm and led you towards somewhere. When you guys got closer, you saw the other Avengers surrounding this metal thing and pieced things together.

"Let's destroy some homicidal robots, yeah?" Nat asked you with a smirk. You smiled back at her and positioned yourself between Nat and Iron Man. With a roar from a very large and very green Doctor Banner, more and more robots were running at you.

During the fight you noticed another magical being on the team, and tried to remind yourself to talk with her later. However, the fight was raging and it seemed like the enemy was never ending.

When Ultron himself came in, the Vision quickly kicked him back out. Then he went out and was blasting him with the mind stone in his forehead. Thor and Iron Man joined, and so you thought you would as well.

When you and Thor were kids, the two of you used to practice battling together and using your powers as one. Now was maybe the first time you guys would be doing this in a real battle. Your magic energy combined with his lightning- Ultron never stood a chance.

It was time to go now, and yet it was clear that maybe the heroes wouldn't survive this one. The city needed to be destroyed and there wasn't an easy way to do that and have every last person get off. Besides, civilians came first- that's the first thing any fighter learns.

"I'll stay with you, Thor," you said. There was no room for argument in your words. Nat looked at you with a bit of sadness. "You need to get to a ship that will take you off here. Promise?" you asked.

The two of you didn't spend much time together, but you still held feelings. You still had to make sure she made it off. It was hesitant, but she nodded. "Just don't get yourself killed." Without another word she hurried off to (hopefully) get to safety.

Steve was now standing with you and Thor, but there was no conversation. You were going to start one, but then the Avengers' jet came, bullets tearing the ground up. It was coming in fast, so you created a magical shield around you, Thor, and Steve to protect you all from the bullets. A few managed to graze your side before the shield completely formed, but you stayed up to hold the shield in place.

The bullets stopped and you thought everything was okay. But when you took down the shield and looked around, you saw Clint next to a lifeless body- the body of someone you never got to meet, but who fought valiantly.

While Thor flew off to take care of the jet (with Ultron in it, no doubt), you walked over to the body and placed a few fingers on his head. "To Valhalla," you whispered.

After a few more minutes, when Clint had taken the child and Steve had taken the body, you wondered where Thor had went. He had gone off somewhere, but now that you had more of a chance to think about it you realized you really didn't know where he went.

It all came together when the land was suddenly falling out from under you. The air was pushed out of your lungs as you floated for a bit, but then fell along with the land. Random pieces of debris came and cut you in the air as everything went down. Lightning lit up the sky over where the thing you all had been guarding was. And then, the city exploded.

You yelled the first thing you could. "Heimdall!"

A/N: No, this is not entirely accurate to Norse mythology, but neither are MCU Loki and Thor and all of them, you know? Anyway, I did use inspiration from real Norse mythology goddesses, specifically Freya because she seems pretty badass ngl. Freya is the goddess of love, fertility, sorcery, gold, war, and death. So, that should explain a few things lol.

Oh, and yes, there will be a part 2. I could have kept going on this but then realized how long it was and figured that I can just make a part two. What will it be about? I have no idea. Maybe it'll just be short and will tie up any loose ends. Maybe it will go into another movie. Maybe it will just be a bit of BTS with Nat and Thor. Who knows! I certainly don't.

Oh well, I hope you enjoyed this! Please consider checking out the other things I have on my profile. If you don't, that's fine too :)

Bye Lovelies!!!!!!
