Timeless (Part Two)

A/n: please read part one before proceeding!

You hid in some buildings, not sure what to do in this situation. Time travel had been done before, sure, but you had never done it before. That's where the issue came in.

Plus, you knew your Avengers history. You knew this giant piece of floating land would be disintegrated rather soon. You also had a rather strange outfit on that wouldn't go unnoticed for long.

There were two options:

1) Try to teleport down to the ground and hope you don't freak anyone out or get crushed by falling debris.

2) Approach the Avengers and hope they believe you.

Neither were very good, but only one felt the safest of the two. And that was going up to the Avengers and telling them everything. This would be interesting, but you didn't have other options.

Besides, the person who literally figured out time travel was right there. He hasn't done it yet, but maybe he'd know something.

Or, they could take you back to New York and you could approach the Sanctum and see if they could help. It would either be the Ancient One or Strange who'd help you.

Option two clearly won.

You took a deep breath and came out of your hiding place. The Avengers were splitting up to cover different areas to get more robots take care of, so you decided to make your move. Steve Rogers was the closest, so you went to him.

"Excuse me?" You came out from the building rubble you were in.

The Captain snapped his head over to you and ran to where you were. "We need to get you off the island, let's find a transport to take you," he said, his hand going to your back to help escort you. Luckily he didn't comment on the outfit you were in. It would come up later, though.

You let him lead you, but knew you needed to ensure he wouldn't completely forget about you. "Captain, I need your help. Well- the Avengers help," you said as he led you away from the destruction.

He nodded. "Of course, ma'am, that's why we're here."

You wanted to roll your eyes but refrained. "No, I mean... I'm not from around here. And only you guys can help me get back to where I need to go," you said.

Captain Rogers gave you a strange look, which you understood. The way you told him was weird, yes, but less weird than saying you were from the future. Now that would have bought you a ticket to the hospital under the impression you had a concussion.

"What do you-"

He didn't get to finish his question, because an Ultron robot landed right in front of you, three of it's friends following in suit.

"Get down!" He half pushed you down and covered the two of you with his shield as they shot. "Could use some back up down here!" Captain Rogers yelled, you assumed into his comm.

Once they stopped shooting, he got up and started fighting them off. But it was four versus one, which wasn't fair at all, and you knew this would help your case later, so you decided to take action.

There was an Ultron bot not too far from you that wasn't too involved with Captain Rogers, so you rolled over to it and used a beam of light to slice through it's middle. Another robot noticed you doing this and came over to attack you. You just did the same thing to it.

More robots began to show up, so you kept fighting. It's not like the Avengers would reject your help. They'd just have some questions after.

And they did. You fought for a couple minutes, slicing robots in half or burning their faces off to destroy their controls. When it died down, you turned to see Captain Rogers and the Black Widow looking at you.

"Like I said," you started, dusting yourself off, "I'm not from around here."

Black Widow stepped forward. "Are you an alien?" she asked.

You cocked your head to the side and made a weird face. "A bit weirder... I'm from the future." They both looked at you weird. "Ta-da," you said, and did some pitiful jazz hands. Silence wasn't your favorite, especially in awkward moments like this.

Captain Rogers spoke up first. "How do we... believe you?" he asked.

You winced and tried to think. "I mean, I don't... I don't know if I should. Time is a messy thing, if I mess up the timeline here too drastically, I could completely screw up my own time. A lot could happen in twenty years."

The redhead shook her head. "But doesn't telling us all this also mess up the timeline?"

You sighed. "It's a risk I have to take if I'm going to make it back home. There's... there is so much I want to say. But I Just can't. Is there any way I can get your trust? With all of this... vague-ness?" you asked.

The two looked at each other, and then back to you. Captain Rogers was the one to speak up. "We can try, but we have something to finish first. We'll get you to the Helicarrier where we'll meet you after this is all done."

Relief flooded through you. "Thank you," you breathed.

Captain Rogers continued on his original journey: getting you to safety. Again, you could teleport, but you didn't wanna mess up the timeline or miscalculate a jump, considering you didn't know exactly where the Helicarrier was.

He was speaking into the comm every now and then, getting your ride set up. Finally, you two reached the edge of the floating Sokovia.

"You okay to fly?" he asked.

Confused, you still nodded slowly. A moment later, Sam Wilson, the Falcon, landed on the island. "This our new weird friend?" he asked,

His sense of humor made you smile wide. "Yep, sounds like me," you answered. Now you understood Captain Rogers's question. "How do I...?"

Falcon laughed. "Just hang on," he said. You came up to him and he wrapped one of his arms around you, you putting both of yours around your neck. "I mean it. Hang on tight."

You held tighter and he launched off. Flying like this was definitely something you hadn't done. Sure, swinging around with Peter was similar to this, but this had no drop. This was just smooth sailing.

He dropped you off at the Helicarrier, and it took a lot of power for you to not completely nerd out. In fact, a lot of this journey was causing you to internally freak out. Meeting the original Avenger? The Black Widow? The Falcon? Just being present during a historic moment like the Battle of Sokovia was nuts.

An agent came an escorted you inside the carrier. You sent a wave to the Falcon before he flew off to help finish the fight. Inside, you marveled at the space you entered. Sure, by your standards it was all ancient tech, but it was super cool. These things were nonexistent in your time.

"Well, well, I heard we have an interesting visitor." You turned toward the voice and saw the Nick Fury standing there. He had his signature eyepatch and leather coat, and you were in awe.

You cleared your throat, regaining normal behaviors. "Uh- yes. Yes, I'm (Y/n)." Not even the others knew your name. This was a man of many secrets, though, so you figured you could tell him some more stuff. "I'm an Avenger twenty years in the future."

His eyebrows barely raised. "That's a long time from now. What are you doing here?"

"That's where it gets fuzzy. I was fighting a villain who was trying to steal... something rather important. It plus some... other factors sent me back into time. I don't really know how it happened, I'm just hoping for a chance to get back."

Fury nodded along to your words. "And you think we're the ones for that?"

You shrugged. "The closest at least. I can't think of anyone else who might be able to get me to New York City as fast as possible. Besides, I didn't exactly have that many options arriving in the middle of a battlefield."

It shocked you that you manage to get a smile and a half-chuckle out of Fury. "I'm sure we can figure something out. We'll just need to wait until this ordeal has been dealt with."

You nodded, understanding the list of priorities (you were not the top). For now, you waited. You knew what was going to happen. The Avengers would win, but Wanda would lose a part of herself.

The thought of possibly seeing Wanda here and now was strange to you. She was one of the only people in this time that you had a relationship with in your time. You didn't know if seeing her now would throw things off. Maybe you'd be fine.

You wouldn't know until you got back to your own time. That would tell you how everything ended up.

It didn't feel like it had been long at all since you got on the Helicarrier, but soon the all clear was given. Thor and Iron Man were about to blow the place up, for lack of better words.

They all got themselves out of there ASAP, and so did the Helicarrier. They were all scattered a bit, so you didn't quite know where each person was. You figured they were all gonna want to talk with you, too, so you waited.

A couple hours later, you arrived at... somewhere. "This is your stop." You looked up at the Black Widow and stood with her. "Well, our stop. Come on, the others should be here."

You followed her out of the Helicarrier and realized you were at the old Upstate Facility. Before it got blown to smithereens. It was so cool being able to be there.

Black Widow led you inside the facility, to a large open room where the others had gathered. "All right, let me get this straight," Tony Stark said.

Your heart swelled at seeing this man alive. Peter always talked so highly of him. Considering what happened, you were never able to meet him. This would have to do.

If your timeline was correct, Tony Stark would be meeting Peter Parker in the coming year.

You cleared your throat and explained one last time. "I'm from the future. I was in the midst of a fight with someone who had... time-based powers. He accidentally sent me back here."

"So how are we supposed to help you get back to your time?" Clint Barton, the Hawkeye, asked.

This is where the hesitation really kicked in. "That's kind of the issue... my best bet is a place in New York City, but I can't really get there on my own..."

The group nodded. "So, all you need is a ride?" Tony Stark asked. You nodded. "Well that's easy, let's go."

A couple minutes later, you were sitting in the passenger seat of one of Tony Stark's cars. It felt very weird. It had been pretty quiet so far, which you hated, so you spoke up. "I'm kind of surprised yo haven't asked me any questions about the future."

He laughed. "Honestly, I've been trying to think of the right one. But, let me guess, you can't say anything in fear of messing up the timeline?"

"Bingo," you answered. "Trust me, it's hard. But I have to preserve my time and I would hate to do any serious damages to yours."

He nodded. "That sounds fair. But you really can't tell me anything? Not even about me or who I am in the future?"

A tightness in your chest almost gave you away, but you simply smiled. "Not a single word. Can't push you off the right track."

After that, he dropped it, and did his best to make light conversation with you. Of course, it was weird, considering there were some details you had to be extra careful about sharing. You weren't even sure if you could safely tell him about the seven year old you playing with dolls in Albany.

He arrived at your stop and you got out, sending him a wave. When the door shut, you almost wished you could tell him about all the infinity stones and how they would ruin his entire life, basically.

But you knew better than that.

You turned and went to knock on the doors to the Sanctum, but found yourself teleported inside. The sudden move was like your own teleportation, so you weren't too affected by it.

"I was beginning to wonder when you'd show up." Looking over to your right, you saw the Ancient One walking toward you. "If you were expecting Stephen, you just a bit too early."

You shook your head. "Had to be one of you, so I'm still not too surprised. If you know who I am, then you know how to send me back, right?"

She hesitated, and it made your heart plummet. "I'm afraid it might be more... complicated than that," she said. "The Time Stone only works in certain ways, and your friend had some help when sending you back. It was a combination of things that brought you here."

With every passing word, you felt your heart sink further and further down. "So what do I do? I have to go back, I can't stay here! I'm messing up the timeline as is."

"Not by much yet. If it gets too drastic, you'll know." You looked at her, confused, but she didn't stop to explain. She could also probably mess up a lot if she talked too much. "I'll have to keep you safe in here while I figure out what to do."

Your eyebrows shot up to your hairline. "For how long?"

She shook her head. "I'm afraid I have no exact answer for that question."

"So I'm just stuck in 2015? Indefinitely?"

"I'm afraid so."

A/n: I realized this could be very long, and thought, 'why not make a part three?' So congrats guys! You won't get an ending for probably another two weeks. Hope you guys stick around to see how you get back to your time.

My writing time is extremely limited lately. There are some things I can write at work whenever I have time, but mostly I try to whip things out at night when I come home from work. It's stressful.

So! Please by kind and patient, because I'm trying, I promise.

See you next week Lovelies!!!!!!!!!
