Secrets Revealed Part 2
Secrets Revealed Part 2
At the foot of your bed, six very intimidating people stood there and eyed you. As your screams of terror kept ringing, your godmother burst into the room with a glare in her eyes and her fists balled up at her sides. When she caught sight of who was there, her hands relaxed but her glare hardened and kept it's focus on Captain Fucking America.
Black shit-you-not Widow came to your side and shushed your screaming. It stopped, and she let go the breath she was holding in, and joined the rest of the Avengers back at the foot of your bed.
"What the hell are you doing here?" she asked the man, and you were stunned. Not only did the tone she have catch you off guard, the use of a curse word did as well, but most importantly she acted like she knew these people personally.
He sighed and looked at your godmother. "I'm sorry Carol, but we got word back at the tower that the flash drive was activated, and we had to check it out," he explained. Now your godmother looked at you.
"So you looked in the box?" she asked you. You simply nodded, knowing there was no way to lie out of this situation. Your godmother groaned in frustration and looked at Captain America again. "You need to leave, alright Steve?" Steve?! "I have explaining and grounding to do, so leave."
Captain America shook his head in disagreement. "No, we aren't leaving." He and your godmother instantly got into an argument, and you sat at the foot of your bed and left your eyes wide open. Seriously, the Avengers were in your room as you sat in your bed with unicorn pajama pants and a black tank top on. This was not how you thought your night would go.
"(Y/n)is definitely staying here and I'm going to raise her normal just like her parents wanted!" your godmother screamed at the captain. Your attention was fully on them now as soon as your parents were outright brought up.
Steve fired back, "She needs to be who she really is! Her parents would've wanted this, not for her to be stuck with a damn secret she doesn't even know!"
"What the hell is going on?!" you screamed over the arguing that was starting to break out. The room went silent, and your ears were filled with the sound of your soaring heartbeat that was flying higher. "Someone better explain to me what's happening before I get those files again and find out on m own."
The room stayed silent after your sudden outburst. Your godmother walked to you and sat down beside you. "Look, I have a lot of explaining to do that I was hoping I could do later, but I can't escape it now.
"You're parents weren't boring lawyers like they told you. They were involved with...dangerous people. They were enhanced individuals that worked with the government organization SHIELD, the thing behind the Avengers I guess you could say. Inside that, they helped around and were agents. In fact, that's where they met me. We became friends and one day your mother just told me that they wanted me as your godmother, in case anything bad happed to them when they were out on the field.
"It's almost as if she knew something would happen, and while they were en route to a mission site, they were killed in a wreck. What struck everyone the hardest was that the road was a secret and secure road, no other cars, and was one of the safest roads to travel. Nobody knows how your parents were killed that night."
"But what about what Captain America mention? About me being stuck with this damn secret I don't even know?" you asked, ignoring the use of a swear word right in front of the woman who basically raised you.
At this, she sighed and looked to the Captain, allowing him to explain. He stepped towards you slightly. "You're parents had abilities. They were part of what we call the Enhanced. Your mother, (y/m/n) had the ability to manipulate solid objects within about 15 feet of her. She could change their density, their scientific state, anything she wanted. You father (y/f/n) was able to walk through solid objects as if they weren't even there. What we all need to know, is if you inherited those abilities."
You were stunned to silence. Not only did your parents live a double-life, the kind you only heard about in books and movies, but they had powers. Full on superhero powers at that. It felt like they had lied to you, and you just wanted to be alone.
"Am I aloud to be alone please?" you asked quietly, knowing if you raised your voice any higher it would break. The others in the room looked at you and to each other, before nodding and leaving. Carol was the last to leave, and she looked back at you before she shut the door.
Once it was closed the dams broke. Tears silently fell down your cheeks as you thought about how lied to you felt. You slowly moved to stand up, and walked over slowly to your desk. Inside a drawer was a little photo album your parents had put together for you when you turned 5, giving you something filled with a bunch of memories from your life. Their plan was to make one for you every 5 years, filling them with the memories from the years before. You grabbed the album from it's little spot and took it with you back to your bed.
You sat down on top of your quilt and sheets and braced yourself. Every time you opened this little book, you got so emotionally overwhelmed. But you needed to see them again. So tentatively you pulled the cover off the first page, and read your mother's handwriting.
"To the best thing that ever happened to me. These photos are of the fist five years you were alive and breathing, and one day I hope we can sit down and look at this, exchanging stories and secrets together."
When you were young you thought she would just tell you about the pictures, but now you had a deeper understanding. She would've told you about her powers one day, and it would've been a mother-daughter moment to you. Her plan was to look over all the memories and tell you what she had been wanting to since day one. A tear rolled off your cheek and onto the fading paper.
You turned the page and found yourself staring at a newborn you, sitting in your mom's arms. As Carol tells you multiple times, you look like her. A small smile formed on your lips and you kept turning each page, wondering why some of these moments were special. Had they just returned from a mission they didn't think they'd survive? Did they kill someone and needed to see you to remind themselves about how good they really are? Had they killed anyone period?
Everything was just a mystery now, and you had no idea really on how to come back from the initial shock of everything being laid on you all at once.
It had been a couple hours since you asked to be alone, and the Avengers we're still stationed downstairs in your living room with Carol arguing with them. Their arguments were hushed, but you could every now and then here someone's voice raise before they would get dramatically shushed.
Your tears and emotions were spent, and now you just wanted to ask them questions for the hell of it. They clearly wouldn't leave for a while, so you might as well get some answers. The swung open soundlessly and you exited. You closed the door and leaned on the wall for a second, trying to gauge their argument. It seemed, however, you weren't alone in the hallway. You could barely make out another shadow sitting on the ground across from you.
"Hello?" you asked, and the shadow jumped to their feet. The light flicked on and you saw Bruce Banner across from you. He rubbed his neck and looked to the ground in embarrassment.
"Sorry," he mumbled out. "I came up here to get away from the arguing." You nodded in understanding, and walked over next to him. The squeaked as you slid down, landing with a small thud on the ground. Bruce followed, unsure of what else to do.
You let out a big sigh, and carefully leaned against the scientist. "I don't know about anything anymore. My parent's lives were just fairytales, and they led a life I could never imagine. I'm probably the only one in my family who didn't know about this," you said, starting off a small rant to Bruce. He nodded, and just listened to you.
"I thought I was normal. In fact, I dreaded being such a normal girl with the the abnormal things that had happened in my life. I mean, even kids getting raised by aunts and uncles and grandparents were less normal than me. In a way, I envied that little taste of difference I guess. But now...everything has just been blown up and I have this crazy life and possible powers and I would beg to get the normal life I had back."
Bruce nodded along, listening intently. Sure, he wasn't that kind of doctor, but he's had his fair share of what this poor child is explaining to him.
You talked for a bit longer and suddenly felt really sleepy, drifting off mid-sentence and going to sleep on Bruce's shoulder. This could finish being dealt with in the morning.

A/N: Okay! I have some explaining to do after posting a couples days late, and I'm really sorry. My weekend was hectic and I was going to post yesterday afternoon but then I started getting these creepy messages from this pedophile that terrified me so I was just scared and paranoid for the rest of the day. But I posted today! The end is a bit weird, I'll admit, but I hope next chapter works out well!
I got my braces off this morning and my teeth feel weird. This is random, but I just can't stop feeling my teeth and messing with my retainer and stuff.
Thank y'all sooooo much for 103 votes?! 8K views!? WHaT!? Thanks guys!
To wrap everything up, I will try to post something this weekend, but it may just end up being something sort of short cause my week is still hectic. That also brings up the fact that I will be exhausted next week because I have ACT Aspire testing all. Fucking. Week.
Anyways, Bye Lovelies!
