My Bad...
My Bad...
A/N: This takes place after Hoco and before Infinity War
(Y/f/d)= your favorite drink (Y/f/i/c/f)= your favorite ice cream flavor
You were sitting at your desk in your room when it happened the first time. It had been a tough day in calculus and your teacher sent home piles of homework to be done by next class in two days. Since tomorrow was a busy afternoon, you basically had to get it all done tonight.
But all your homework was forgotten, as you stared at the phone in your hands, at a photo Peter Parker just sent you. The two of you had just finished talking about what you were doing for your science project. You thought the conversation was over, but instead he sent you a picture and it threw you off completely.
It was the Spiderman suit. The suit! You stumbled around with your fingers on the keyboard before finally coming up with some sort of response.
(Y/n): Uhh Parker? What's this?
Of course you knew what it was, but you could also be seeing things. Sitting at your desk for the past three hours doing nothing but calculus probably screwed with your head a bit. The theory was far fetched but it could still be true.
It didn't even take 30 seconds to get a reply from the boy.
PP: Oh I'm so sorry! That was for Mr. Stark!
PP: You remember my internship at Stark Industries?
PP: I've just been helping with the suit and all that I promise!
PP: Mr. Stark is going to be pissed that I leaked sensitive info...
PP: Please don't show anyone!
You breathed a huge sigh of relief and smiled. Of course he wasn't Spiderman! Awkward, clumsy, quiet Peter Parker? It didn't fit together.
(Y/n): I swear not to show anyone. I'll delete it off messages right now.
You went to delete the picture, but something else came over you. Instead, you saved the picture discreetly to your camera role and then deleted it. You took a screenshot and sent it back to him.
(Y/n): See: all gone!
PP: Oh thank you so much!
Now that that was sorted out, you put your phone down and tried to get back to your homework. However, the picture of the suit was really tempting to look at. So, instead of being a good student, you picked your phone back up and looked at the suit in your camera roll. The case it was in was strange and really high-tech looking; perfect for a Stark creation. The detailing of the suit was also super cool. It was a really interesting design and you wondered to yourself if Peter Parker had much to do with the actual designing part.
Finally you put your phone away and got back to calculus.
The second time it happened, you were sitting in Starbucks drinking (y/f/d) while scrolling through Instagram. It had been a week since the first incident, and Peter acted as thought nothing ever happened. Which was fine, you certainly didn't want him to get in trouble with Mr. Stark, but you looked at the suit picture almost everyday when you were at home. It was just so freaking cool to see the suit!
But you had gotten another text from Peter, and when you opened it, it was another picture he probably did not mean to send to you.
You looked at the screen in confusion, wondering what the hell he was supposed to be working on in the picture. At first, you thought it might be a new element to your group's science project, but upon closer inspection, you gasped and brought your phone to your chest to hide the screen. You looked around to see if anyone was behind you or watching you closely. After deciding you were in the clear, you looked back at the picture and just froze.
Peter Parker, working on the Spiderman suit. The only reason you could tell, was because of the spider design by his hand. Again, Peter had done something he probably did not mean to do.
(Y/n): Peter???? What????
That's all your brain could tell your fingers to type. It didn't make sense, as you thought the suit was completed in the last picture? And it didn't even look like that could be in the suit itself; it was Stark tech, but still. You quickly saved the picture to your camera roll again, and about that time you got a reply.
PP: Dammit! I'm sorry!
PP: I texted you and Mr. Stark the most recently
PP: I guess I misclicked
PP: He asked if I had been working so that's what I was trying to send him
PP: Please keep this between us!
You did what you did last time: delete the message, send him a screenshot, and he thanked you. It was weird how that happened twice. Of course both times weren't on purpose, but maybe the universe was trying to tell the two of you something. You finished your drink quickly and left the establishment after throwing away the empty cup.
The third time it happened was literally a couple seconds ago while you were watching a movie in bed.
It had been nearly a month since the second incident, to the point where you started to forget about it, only looking at the picture every now and then. At one point you attempted to draw the suit from the first picture, but you decided against it.
Even after Peter assured you that he was merely working on the suit as part of his internship, something in you was nagging at that thought, telling you he was lying. And well, this third picture proved it.
This time, rather than texting, you called Peter really quick.
He answered after two rings. "(Y/n)?"
"Peter, what the hell did you just send me?"
There was a brief pause, where you could tell he was looking for what he sent you, before he came back to the phone absolutely panicked. "Shit that was definitely not supposed to go to you. God- I am so sorry please just ignore it!"
You scoffed. "Ignore it? Peter Parker how the fuck am I supposed to ignore something like this?! It's literally confirming your secret identity! I don't- jeez Peter you said you weren't!"
"I know! I mean I technically didn't lie all that much..."
"Peter, you literally told me you were just working on the suit, and that was it! And now your suddenly a superhero? I mean, come on Peter. Just stop lying and tell me outright."
There was a silence at the other end of the line, before you heard the noise telling you he hung up. Your mouth opened in surprise and annoyance. He just hung up on you like that? What the hell is he even trying to do.
A few minutes later, you heard a tapping on your window. Confused, you got out of bed with your phone in hand, and opened the blinds. There, on the other side, was Peter Parker. Oh sorry- Spiderman.
You opened the window quickly and Peter took the mask off to reveal his extremely panicked face. "Please, don't scream," he said. After taking in a deep breath, you nodded. "Okay. We can't talk here. Can you come out here? I'll take you up to the roof," he said.
"Wait, can you? Like can you physically carry me and take me up to the roof of my apartment building?" you asked. No, you didn't really doubt Spiderman and his abilities, but you were worried for your safety.
Peter nodded and motioned for you to start climbing out the window. "Come out here and I'll put you on my back, alright? You'll have to hold on," he said. You started to crawl out the window, but stopped.
"Hold on," you whispered. In case your mom got suspicious, you decided to put your iPad on your bed playing a movie off of Netflix and shoved some pillows and stuff under the covers so it sort of looked like a person was there. You turned back around and looked at Peter, who now had his mask back on. "Okay, ready."
You, very carefully, started to climb out of the window and onto Peter's back. It was like the piggy-back rides your dad would give you when you were younger. You wrapped your legs around his torso and your arms around his neck. "Okay, I'm going to start climbing now. Try your best not to move too much so I don't get thrown off balance."
Very carefully, Peter closed your bedroom window and started to climb up the side of the building. You kept your eyes tightly shut in fear that if you looked down, you'd go down. In an effort to make the situation less...awkward, you tired not to squeeze too tightly. Fear, however, made you want to hold on as tightly as you possibly could, which could inevitably choke Peter. You decided against that.
"We are almost there," Peter said. He didn't sound that out of breath, which really amazed you. You took his word for it and kept your eyes shut.
You could tell when the two of you got to the top, because then Peter had to do some weird moves to try and keep you from falling off. "Okay, you can come off now," he said. You opened your eyes very slowly, and undid your legs from around him. When your left foot touched the solid ground, you very quickly got off Peter all the way and stepped back.
He took his mask back off and looked at you, then you both looked at the ground. Peter played with the mask in his hands, and you messed with your hands (a nasty habit from your mother). It felt like centuries before one of you talked. "So," you started. "How long have you been Spiderman?"
Peter looked at you and swallowed. "Well, it's been a while. Maybe a couple years? I got this new suit last year when I met Mr. Stark," he said.
"So you have actually met him?" you asked, unsure if the billionaire hero had recruited the kid for reals.
"Yeah. He came over to my apartment and we talked. He knew I was Spiderman and asked me to come with him to Germany," Peter explained further.
"Germany?"
~~
2 hours later, you and Peter had been sitting and talking. You fired question after question to him, and he answered each one as honestly as he could. Well, without giving anything too sensitive away. He didn't really elaborate on the Germany airport fight details, but you had heard about it on the news so you knew it had happened.
After the 2 hours, you came to the conclusion that you wouldn't be entirely opposed to the idea of a spider biting you if it meant you could have superpowers. You also came to the conclusion that you wouldn't mind working with Peter with a 'Stark Internship' if you had the chance to work on or possibly even try on the suit. Of course you would never use Peter like that.
You looked at your phone and gasped at the late time. "Damn it's 12:30. I should probably go to bed and try to get some sleep." Peter nodded and the two of you stood up, with him also putting on his mask. You got back onto his back and he very carefully crawled back down to your room, and opened your window. Once you were back in, Peter started to leave.
"Peter," you called quietly. He stopped and turned back around to face you. "I swear I won't tell anyone, okay? And I'm not going to use you or manipulate you in any sort of way with this information. Just...don't avoid me now? I'd still like to be your friend," you said.
Peter nodded, then thwiped out a web onto the neighboring building and swung away.
~~
It was the end of the school year and you were thrilled to be done. Peter had also defeated a pretty big bad guy, who happened to be a weapons dealer. He introduced you to Ned, who you started to hang out with too. He immediately trusted you once Peter said you knew about his secret identity. The three of you honestly did a lot together. You grew closer to Peter and Ned, becoming really good friends.
It was now two days after the last day of school, and you were heading over to Peter's apartment to meet up with him and Ned. You had some really sad news to share, and weren't looking forward to it, but thought telling them was better than texting them.
May answered the door, and said, "They're in his room." You smiled at her and walked inside to see them.
You knocked on his door and opened it. Both boys were sitting on the bottom bunk of Peter's bed, and looked at you once you entered. "Hey (Y/n)!" Peter greeted. You smiled back, and returned Ned's wave.
Now, it was time for the bad part. You sat in Peter's desk chair and sighed. "So, I have some bad news guys," you started, and looked to your hands. They both looked at you and waited for you to keep going. "My parents are making us move to Oregon."
You looked up and saw the hurt and sadness in Ned's and Peter's expressions. "What- why?" Ned asked you.
"Because they say there's nothing keeping us here. Unless some sort of miracle happens, we're leaving in a week and a half." It was silent for a while after that. Finally Ned suggested you all watch some funny movies or something to try and brighten the mood. It worked somewhat, and by the time you left you were laughing and smiling again.
But the whole time, Peter was deep in thought. (Y/n) had said that her parents' reasoning was because there was nothing holding them there. So what if there was? Peter was still thinking hard when he waved goodbye to you. Once Ned left not long after, Peter looked at the time on his phone. "There's still good time left in the day."
~~
The next day, you and Peter decided to meet. Ned would've joined, but he had plans and they couldn't be missed. So, it was just you and Peter. He was already sitting on a bench on the park when you got down there. He had asked to meet at the park close to the Avengers Tower, and you just figured it would be easier for him since he might be finishing his time there for the day.
"Peter!" you called. He turned around and smiled at you, and you waved back at him while returning the smile. He got up from the bench and ran over to you. "I'm really glad I got to see you again today," you said. You were still extremely sad about moving and hurting Peter and Ned's feelings. Of course you didn't want to leave, but you were underage and had to listen to your parents. "Do we have a plan for today's hangout session?" you asked him. The smile you had still didn't leave your face.
"Well," he started, then rubbed the back of his neck. "I do. Come with me," he said, and held out his hand for you to grab. You did, and he brought you over to the entrance of the Avengers Tower. "This is what we have planned for today," he said.
You were confused. "Didn't Tony Stark sell this place?" you asked him. Peter nodded and shrugged at the same time. "Well what the hell does that mean?" you asked with a laugh.
"It means yes he publicly sold it, but he still technically owns it and does some operating stuff down here. It's where I do my internship," Peter said and you nodded. "So, lets go!"
You and Peter walked through the front doors, and you saw a desk with an employee there. Peter waved at her and kept walking towards the elevator. As you made your way over, neither of you had said a word to each other. Peter was nervous for the surprise, and you were taking everything in. He still held onto your hand.
Once inside the elevator and the doors closed, you let out a breath. "Wow this place already looks really cool," you said.
Peter smiled and said, "FRIDAY, take us to lab level. Is boss man there?"
"Of course, and he is present."
You looked at Peter with shock. "Tony Stark? Is that 'boss man'? Am I going to have the opportunity to meet him?" you asked him. Peter said nothing as the elevator doors opened soon after the questions were asked. On you way out of it, you mumbled, "Freaky fast elevator."
Now you two were in a lab where there were other people working, but not many. As you looked over people and took everything in, Peter took in your reaction. "Peter, this place is amazing! But...aren't I breaking security rules by just being here?"
"Normally you would," someone said. You spun around quickly and saw none other than the Tony Stark walking towards the two of you. He was in an expensive suit with his sunglasses on, of course. "But your status is more than just a normal outsider." Okay so you were friends with Peter, but no way that allowed you clearance into a place like this.
"(Y/n)," Peter said, which caused your attention to be back on him. "Mr. Stark and I talked yesterday after you left and I asked if he could give you a position here. An internship like mine," he said.
You gasped and your eyes widened. A giant smile was plastered on your face. "Seriously?" you asked him. Peter nodded excitedly and you made a noise close to a squeal. You jumped up and wrapped Peter in a giant hug. "Thank you so much Peter!" you yelled in excitement.
When you let go, you turned around to look at Tony Stark. "Thank you too Mr. Stark I can't believe I get to do an internship here!" You walked up to him and shook his hand. He gave you a smile, then said something about having to go finish some stuff up before going back upstate. As he walked away, he whispered something to Peter that caused him to blush, then he left.
For the next two hours, Peter showed you around the facility and you took it all in with a child-like wonder in your eyes. It was exciting to think about working in the tower most likely everyday because you had nothing else to do. Maybe you'd even have a chance to help work on the Spiderman suit (and try it on).
"So. What all am I going to do for my internship?" you asked Peter as the two of you left the tower and walked towards an ice cream place. "Will I make high-tech weapons? Be a glorified secretary? Somewhere in between?"
Peter laughed loudly and looked at you. "Lets go with 'somewhere in between'. I doubt Mr. Stark will let you mess with weapons if I still can't." You agreed with that and entered the ice cream shop with Peter behind you. The two of you got in line behind a few other families and continued your conversation. "But I promise you'll do important things, alright? We can work together and stuff," Peter said.
You looked up at the boy and noticed a pink tint in his cheeks. "Peter Parker are you blushing?" you asked in a teasing tone. The question caused him to blush even more and you had a hard time keeping your laugh in. "It's not like you to blush this much. Everything alright?" you questioned, the same teasing in your voice.
"W-well um," Peter started, rubbing the back of his neck and clearing his throat. "I kinda wanted to ask you something." You were going to urge him one, but the lady behind the counter asked the two of you what you wanted.
"Just a scoop of (f/i/c/f) on a cone please," you ordered. Peter asked for the same thing and the lady went back to take care of it. "So anyways, what did you want to ask?" The teasing in your tone was gone and your voice went back to a normal conversation tone. Peter was still struggling to get the words out even after the ice cream came back and the two of you left to eat outside.
Clouds in the sky blocked out the sun a bit, so you weren't squinting the entire and your ice cream didn't melt too quickly. "What do you want to ask me Parker?" The boy tensed up a bit and you gave him a worried look. "Peter, whatever it is you can ask or tell me. I'm always here," you said.
Peter stopped walking, so you stopped as well, and you gave him a small head tilt and drew your eyebrows in to show one thing: confused. Everything today was pretty confusing it seemed. He cleared his throat for the hundredth time and took in a deep breath.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" he blurted out suddenly. You had to take a minute to process his words, which made him get more worried than he already was.
After you processed the words you were having a hard time containing your excitement. Peter wanted to date you. Like, you always had feelings for him, but chalked it up to be friendship kind of stuff. Later you realized it had been attraction. There was no way you could ask him out though, because if he didn't feel the same then the entire friend group dynamic would be ruined and-
"(Y/n)?" he asked hesitantly. You snapped back into reality and realized he was probably panicking because you hadn't said a word yet.
"Sorry, I just can't find a way to say yes without screaming in pure joy," you responded, a giant smile growing on your face.
Peter's eyes widened and he looked really surprised. "Wait so that's a yes?"
You nodded and jumped a little. "Yes Peter of course!" you nearly squealed. He looked so happy and you couldn't help yourself. You got up on your tiptoes and kissed him. The poor thing was really confused at first, but quickly returned the kiss.
Later that night when you got back to your apartment, you told your parents about the internship and convinced them to stay in New York until you were done with senior year of high school. You may have left out the part about Peter, but they could tell there was something else.
Peter was pretty excited to hear the news, and everything fit back together.
This was perfect.

A/N: I've posted! I don't really like the way I wrote the ending, but that is something I might fix later. I just really wanted to post something for you guys because a lot of you are really patient and are really consistent in reading/voting so yeah here ya go.
My schedule this summer is really weird btw, so my writing is going to (again) take a hit. I'm learning to drive, trying to get a job (the interview I mentioned in the last A/N didn't work out I guess?), I'm taking an over the summer online course for school, I'll be visiting my grandparents/great grandma soon and yeah. So I' really sorry and I'm trying my best.
I'm putting a large amount of focus on Trust so that's what I encourage you to read if you want more consistent content. I'm really proud of that book and I'd love the support!
Bye Lovelies!!!!!!!!!
