Where it all went Wrong, Or Right

"Wait what?" I said still shocked and confused. My mind was trying to process how the best day of my life had just become the worst.

When young California was left at the alter on her Winter Wedding day, she thought she would never find happiness again. That was until she stumbled upon a strange portal that took her to an ulternate universe, one where anything and everything is possible.

A change of Scenery might just be exactly what she needed.

Where it all went wrong, or was it right?

"Come on, come on, come on!" One of my bridesmaids said as she pulled my hand. We were running late to my own wedding after being stuck in traffic, but I laughed as she shoved me by my back up the stairs of the chapel. I was decked out in my gorgeous long sleeve gown, veil, glass slippers (I know I felt like Cinderella) and my gorgeous diamond engagement ring. Though the dresses sleeves were long, it was my anxious excitement that was warming me in the snowy Winter cool.

"Look, Isabel's not even here yet and she's maid of honour." I said smiling as we entered the chapels waiting room.

"I told you I should've been maid of honour." Jaclyn joked, though there was an underlying tone of jealousy. It was to be expected, she was usually labled a bitchy person. But she was nice enough to me and Isabel so we were cool.

"Alright. Let me just tell your mother were finally here. I hope she doesn't bite my head off for us being late." Jaclyn said as she straightened out her dress and turned on her heels. Jaclyn disappeared through the dark wooden doors and I took a moment to compose myself. I looked down at the engagement ring on my finger and smiled. It was a beautiful blue, green stone, maybe three center meters long, held on a gold band. It was so unique.

This is the beginning of the rest of my beautiful life. I sighed happily and clutched my bouquet of pastle pink and white roses, matching my white dress, and the girls bridesmaid dresses, perfectly. The doors to the main room flung open revealing my mother and a wide eyed Jaclyn.

"Derek has eloped with Isabel." My mother said in a harsh whisper. It took my brain a moment to register what had just been said. My face fell into confusion.

"What?" I choked out. The room, behind my mother and Jaclyn, was in confusion as mutters of when the wedding would start were exchanged through the audience.

"Apparently they've been seeing each other for a while now." Jaclyn said softly, a look of actually pity and sadness falling over her face.

"Wait what?" I said still shocked and confused. My mind was trying to process how the best day of my life, had just become the worst.

"California." My mother said through the phone.

"Hi mum." I said with a sigh as I sat on my lounge, in my pj shorts and a knitted jumper, nothing underneath. My feet rested on my coffee table, clothed in odd socks, as I ate plain potato chips from a nearly empty bag and flicked mindlessly through Netflix. This is where I spent most of my time, lounging around and feeling sorry for myself. My mum had come round twice a week, every week for the past two months. When she wasn't here telling me 'I told you so' or 'You stink have a shower', she called me to remind me of how disappointed she was in me. Not that I would ever forget, or care. I learned to tune her out long ago.

"That old boy of yours is in town again." My mother said plainly and I knew who she meant. Derek and his new favorite girl are back.

"You know what mum? I gotta go." I said staring into space, as I cut my mums next sentence off, hanging up the phone, and throwing it onto the lounge beside me.

I was gonna get revenge.

"Yeah who am I kidding." I said as I stood up from my place on the couch and I went to the bathroom. Not bothering to shut the door I went to the toilet, and then washed my hands. I sighed as I looked down at the stupid ring still sitting on my finger. It's obvious he doesn't need you anymore. No one does. 'It's a one of a kind stone. Unique and beautiful, just like you.' Lies. Everything he'd ever said was a lie.

Shortly after my horribly ended wedding, and my quick fall into what was probably depression, or one of the five stages of grief, Jaclyn had promptly stopped talking to me, and soon enough I stopped getting texts or calls. That friendship was over as quick as my marriage.

"Wow. Did I just burn myself?" I said as I looked up at my bathroom mirror. I sighed, which I seemed to be doing often, and pealed off my smelly clothes, stepping into the shower and turning on the water.

I watched the water run off my head and down the drain just thinking. And that's when I realised that I was sick of this, whatever this, pitiful existence was. I was gonna get revenge, no kidding this time.

I was decked out in a flanno and ripped skinny jeans, a black beanie pulled over my shaggy brown hair, as I walked casually down the street, a baseball bat swinging from my right hand. I knew you'd come back here. I thought as I spotted his red Porsche parked outside Isabel's little apartment. Derek's parents were loded so he livid well and could definitely afford a new car, but this one was his baby. His pride and joy.

"Well it is lovely to see you." I said as I placed my hand over the roof of the car, making my way to its bonnet.

"And it'll be even more lovely, to destroy you." I said smiling like a manic as I raised the baseball bat above my head, swiftly bringing it down with all my might.

I smashed the headlights in, and then climbed on the bonnet and swung my baseball bat hard at the front window, and then the side windows, moving on to slash the tires with my pocket knife. Nothing can be left salvageable. I was wild and crying my eyes out in rage and sadness, as I channelled it into smashing the shit out of his car. I stopped when I could no longer see through my tears. I dropped the baseball bat at my feet on the boot of the car.

"I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!" I yelled as I ripped off the engagement ring I had so stupidly kept in some spit of hope. I threw it harshly not even bothering to see where it went. I sighed and wiped my nose with the back of my hand, and then cringed at the snot. I groaned as I jumped off the back off Derek's demolished Porsche. I grabbed my baseball bat and looked at my handy work as I sniffled, no longer crying.

"What the FUCK!?" Came the voice of my ex-fiance. I looked up quickly, spotting his face hanging out the window of one of the apartments, two floors up. He looked at his car in shock and horror, as my ex-bestfriend appeared at his side, sleepy and confused.

"I'm gonna KILL you!" He yelled as he looked down at me. My face drained of colour as I watched his face turn to rage as he disappeared back into the room, Isabel now looking very shocked and confused.

"Oh shit." I said to myself as I realised he was coming down here to beat the living snot outta me. I turned and ran as fast as my legs could carry me, my baseball bat still clutched in my hand.

That's when something very strange happened.
