Unbearable
Astra, Loki and Thor have been friends for as long as they can remember, as Astra's father is the Keeper of all of Asgard's History and Knowledge. Astra was being raised as the next Keeper. But when Astra and Loki begin to develop feelings for each other, Loki becomes frightened, believing that his love for her makes him weak. He banishes Astra to Earth, and vows that she may never return for as long as he shall live.
Third Person
"The history of the battle of Vanahiem, is very important, and-" Astra's father paused as he looked down at his daughter, from the top of his sliding ladder, where he held a large, yellowing scroll. Astra sat at the large old desk, fiddling with her cape as she looked out through the window of the temple, captivated with whatever was going on outside.
"Astra." Her father called. She jumped out of her stupor and whipped her head around to face her father, her golden brown waves loosely swaying around her shoulders.
"Sorry, father. I'm listening." She said as she straitened in her chair and gave him a smile. Her father shook his head and placed the scroll back on the shelf he'd just retrieved it from. He made his way down the ladder and jumped to the ground, his matching cap billowing around his feet as he landed. He smiled softly at her and glanced out the window she'd been staring out of. Out in the courtyard of Asgards palace, Prince Loki and Prince Thor were dueling. Thor was swinging his hammer and Loki was ducking away with knives in his hands, a frown in place.
"Go." Astra whipped her head to face her father with hopeful eyes and a smile.
"Really?" She asked as she met her loving fathers eyes. He smiled softly at her and gestured a hand to the window.
"Really. Have fun, and don't cause any trouble. Like last time." He said with a shake of his head, rhough his smile still remaind. Astra jumped from her seat, gave her father a quick hug, before lifting up the bottom of her dress and running out of the temples double doors. She slowed her run to a walk and let her skirt go as she approached the dueling brothers. She stopped beside them and watched closely.
"Left leg!" She shouted to Thor as she noticed Loki take a step back with his right. Thor, kicked Loki's left leg out from under him and he tumbled to the ground landing on his back. Thor laughed triumphantly as he turned to face Astra.
"Thank you lady Astra, but how did you know?" He asked as he pulled her into a giant bear hug that had her feet lifting off the ground. She laughed as he put her down, before she walked to Loki's side, holding out a hand for him.
"He steps back with his right leg before trusting his right hand forward. He leaves himself off balance and open before he strikes with his right arm." Astra said as she pulled Loki to his feet, his magic daggers gone, he dusted himself off.
"Thanks, for not helping me." Loki shot sarcastically at Astra as he looked down at the beautiful woman before him. She smiled like a Cheshire cat and placed a hand on his chest.
"Please. You don't need anyones help." She said in rather a seductive tone as she smiled up at him, threw her lashes. Loki rolled his eyes and gently pulled her hand off his chest and too his lips, as he kissed the back of it, before letting it go.
"Ever the gentleman." She said coyly as he smoothed his tunic as Thor came to stand beside them, with a large grin.
"Ever the sweet talker." He replied as he gave her a coy smile in return. The three chuckled as they made their way through the courtyard towards the palace entrance.
"So, Thor, have you asked Sif to the ball this evening?" Astra asked as they walked up the large gold steps and Thor pushed the double doors open. He looked to Astra with a frown.
"No. Should I have?" He asked like the oblivious man, Astra knew him to be. Astra shook her head disapprovingly, as Loki chuckled behind his hand at his brothers oblivious nature. Thor picked up on the fact that he was being made fun of, and shot a glare at Loki.
"Have you asked someone?" He asked accusingly. Loki raised one brow with a smirk.
"Of course I have. I'm taking Astra." Loki stated proudly, as he chuckled at Thor, and Astra gave him a 'see' look, that told Thor she was unimpressed with his lack of organisation.
"Well, I'm going alone." Thor said with mock pride. Astra scoffed and looked at him with a roll of her eyes.
"You can't go to the honorary ball, for your coronation, by yourself." Astra said, like it was the most ridiculous notion she had ever heard. Thor looked from Astra to Loki with pleading eyes. Loki shrugged and shook his head.
"She's right." He said as they stopped at the dinning all doors, lunch already underway, if the noise from the other side was any indication. Thor huffed as Loki pushed the doors open and walked through, Astra at his side, as Thor dawdled behind the pair. They came to the loudest table, where the Warriors Three and Lady Siff all sat, eating their fill.
"Ask her now." Astra whispered in Thor's ear before she smiled brightly at Siff and took a seat beside her, Loki sitting silently on her other side.
"Astra! Your father let you off for the day?" Siff asked as she gave the woman a side hug and bright smile. Astra chuckled and nodded happily.
"Yup. Honestly, I wish he'd do it more often!" Astra laughed out as they began a conversation together as the boys welcomed Thor, loudly, to the table, Loki, like usual, remaining silent beside Astra.
"Lady Siff, may I speak to you in private?" Thor asked the warrior quietly. Siff pardoned herself from her conversation with Astra, who gave Thor a supportive smile and wink. Astra turned to Loki and struck up conversation, being the only person the Prince would willingly hold a conversation with.
Thor and Lady Siff moved to one of the balcony's and Siff turned to Thor, patiently waiting. Thor cleared his throat, not sure how to do this, when he mostly saw Siff as just a friend. But his brother had asked Astra, and they were just friends, right?
"Thor? Are you okay?" Siff asked when Thod didn't speak for a long moment. He blinked his eyes quickly and summoned up that endless confidence he always seemed to have.
"I was actually wondering if you would like to attend the Ball with me tonight?" Thor asked as he pulled a broad grin onto his face. Siff's face brightened and she gave him a smile.
"Of course. It would be my honour, Prince Thor." Siff said as she bowed her head slightly in respect, trying to hide her excitement. Thor didn't even notice as he beamed and nodded.
"Good." He said as he marched his way back into the dinning hall. Siff followed quickly, eager to tell Astra what had just transpired. She quickly slid onto the bench beside Astra and gripped her shoulder with a smile so big her cheeks hurt.
"Thor just asked me to the Ball this evening!" She whisper yelled in Astra's ear. Loki heard this and rolled his eyes at the ordeal. Astra however, acted like she hadn't known he was going to and spun to face the warrior, wrapping her arms around her shoulders as they both beamed.
"I'm so happy for you!" Astra said excitedly as she held Siff at arms length, as Loki sulked behind her, annoyed at their conversation being interrupted.
"What're you wearing tonight, by the way?" Siff asked as she tried to school her glee and act normal as she went back to eating. Astra gestured to her gown.
"My uniform of course." Astra stated. Behind her Loki nearly stuttered out his drink. He coughed and drew Astra and Siff's attention as they gave him a confused look. He righted himself and gave Astra a deadpan look.
"You are not wearing, that, to the Royal Coronation Ball." Loki said in finality, leaving no room for argument. Astra turned her wide eyed look from Loki, who went back to eating like nothing had happened, to Siff who was looking at her with wide eyes as well. They both burst into laughter when their eyes met.
"Well, I guess, I have no idea." Astra laughed out, not to worried about finding something nice in her wardrobe that she hadn't worn to a ball before. She usually wore her golden uniform with its black undertones. Siff laughed and Astra broke into giggles with her.
