Travelling through time due to a freak accident, Marleen and Jocelyn have ended up in the forties and as much as the girls love the era they really need to get back, and who better to ask than Howard Stark the smartest man of his time. But when Marleen falls for Howard, and Jocelyn for Bucky will their minds change.

"Reynolds. Lawrence. My office now." Fury called as he walked past the girls desks and into his office. The two looked at each other in excitement.

"We're going on a mission?! Finally." Marleen Lawrence said to her bestfriend and co-Shield agent Jocelyn Reynolds in excitement.

"I know it's been forever." Jocelyn said as she straightend out her pencil skirt and followed Marleen into Fury's office, shutting the door behind them.

"I need you two to investigate a Hydra base that has been giving off strange electrical signals." Fury said as he placed a file on the table in front of the two girls.

"Of course." Jocelyn said calmly as she picked up the file. Marleen smiled giddy.

"Be careful though. We don't know what their making in there." Fury said as he walked around them and opened the door.

"We always are." Marleen said with a smile.

"Oh, and remember, this is strictly a recon mission, do not, engage." Fury said sternly, as he pointed a finger at the two agents. They both nodded quickly.

"Yes Sir." Jocelyn replied seriously, as the two left his office the file in Jocelyn's safe hands.

The two girls quickly left heading to their shared apartment to change and prepare, excited for their first mission in two months.

"Alright, you good to go?" Jocelyn asked as she stood in the lounge room of their small apartment, guns and knives strapped to her leather cat suit, much like Black Widows, a role model of the girls, and a friend.

"Yup." Marleen said as she came out in similar attire.

"Good. Fury's leant us a jet." Jocelyn said as she left the apartment, a long, deep green jacket on over her suit.

"Sweet! Can I fligh?" Marleen answered in excitement as she locked the apartment behind her, dressed in a long red coat over her suit.

"Well I flew last time, so I guess that's fair." Jocelyn said as they walked to her car before taking off for Shields jet hanger.

"Nearly there Fury." Jocelyn reported back to Fury through her ear piece as Marleen set the jet down not to far from the Hydra base.

"Good, report everything back to me." He said back through the coms.

"Will do." Jocelyn said as Marleen lowered the ramp and the two girls left the jet. They trudged through the compact snow on the ground, on high alert. That was until they broke the tree line and saw the state of the Hydra base. The entire base was now only ruble.

"Fury you're not gonna believe this." Jocelyn said through her com to Fury as she stared at the base in disbelief her gun now lowered to her side as she watched smoke billow out from the debris in confusion and disbelief.

"What's wrong?" Fury asked. Jocelyn raised her hand to her ear to talk to Fury.

"The whole place, is at waste. The building looks like it was hit by a-" Joce didn't finish as she noticed Marleen put her gun away and make her way over to the ruble.

"Mar! Wait!" Joce called out running after her friend her gun raised in caution.

"Agent?!" Fury called through her com, but she ignored it for the time and stood on guard for an survivors.

"Marleen?! What are you doing?!" Jocelyn harshly whispered as her friend shimmied her legs through a gap in the collapsed debris.

"There's something down here." She said matter of factly as she slid down to the ground below. Joce sighed, putting away her gun, and climbed in after her friend. She dropped down to be met with a strange looking machine that was pulsing with a blue energy.

"What happened here?" Jocelyn questioned as she looked around. At the crumbled building and broken machine, dead bodies burnt and laying crisp around the area.

"Fury I think we found the source of the weird energy signals." Marleen said into her com as she edged closer to it.

"What is it?" Fury asked through the com.

"Hang on I'll take a photo." Jocelyn said as she snapped a shot of the strange machine and its pulsing energy. She then proceeded to send the image to Fury.

"What the hell is it?" Fury asked as he presumably looked at the sent image.

"I don't know but-" Joce was in the process of answering when she noticed Marleen's close proximity to the unstable machine.
"Mar, don't touch it, it's unstable." She said to her friend as she walked closer to grab Marleen's shoulder.

"It's pulsing like a liquid energy of some sort." Marleen said through her com.

"Its really str-" Marleen's voice was cut off as a strand of electrical energy detached itself from the strange pulsing field and connected with her hand. The energy ran through both girls as it exploded knocking the girls unconscious and sending them flying backwards.

"Agent Reynolds, Agent Lawrence!? Girls!" Fury shouted into the static of the dead coms.
Something was terribly wrong.
