Chapter 1
You think you know war, wait till you have lived through 10, 100, 1000.
Up till now, war still rages. Whether it's between ISIS and the world, or SHIELD against Hydra. War never ends. Humanity, we are built for war. The apex one. The ultimate predator. Yet...you won't feel that way, after you've lost many of your friends and loved ones.

Somewhere in North Arizona stands a inconspicuous truck refueling station. However, it's just a facade for a Hydra base below the surface. Inside, a lone figure strides through the smoke blanketing the area. It's shape is bulky and it shows that it is wearing high tech armor. It sweeps its head to and fro, scanning the area that it blasted into. Dead bodies lie everywhere. On every body however, their uniforms carry a badge, with a octopus sign on it. It sweeps the area again, then shakes its head and continues on. A shot rings out. However, the speeding projectile just bounces off before it hits the armor. A blue shimmer appears over the armor. An energy shield. It strides quickly towards the shot. Four more ring out before the gun falls silent. All four just bounces off the shield. The figure reaches an injured soldier with a pistol. It quickly wrenches the pistol out of the man's hand, breaking the fingers in the process. Then it kneels down to him. "Where are they?" A female voice says from the armor. The man smirks. "There's only one left. The rest are dead." He coughs up blood. "At least there's still one. You will never win." The armored female says. The man spits blood at her visor, only for the energy shield to vaporize the blood. The man shakes in head in a gesture of contempt. "Everything falls in due time. But Hydras," he pauses to cough up more blood. "Cut off one head..." the female replies," Two more grow back in its place. However, if you burn the stump before it grows back, the heads can't grow." The female says and pulls a huge pistol out of her belt and points it against the man's head. The man spits more blood at her as a last defiance. "Hail Hydra." He says, before the woman pulls the trigger and blows the man head off with her 5 cm gun. Shaking her head, she walks deeper into the facility, her pistol at the ready. Finally she comes to a room that says "Torture room." She rams the door open, expecting several more soldiers to take a last stand. She only finds a man sobbing in the corner, and a pile of bodies, this time bearing the insignia of an eagle. She walks slowly over to the terrified female on the floor and places her hand against her shoulder. "Calm down. They're dead. You'll be recused soon." The female looks at the armored female. Then grabs her recuser around the waist, repeating "thank you" over and over again. The armored female strokes her hair motherly. "I have to leave now, but your recuse beacon has been triggered. They will arrive in 5 minutes. I cannot be seen here." The armored female stands up. "Stay in this room. You'll be safe." She strides quickly over to the door, intending to leave. The female agent asks in a shaky voice. "W-who ar-are y-you?" The armored female stops and turns around. The golden reflective visor of her helmet lifts up, revealing breathtaking purple and green eyes. "I'm the Grey Ghost. And I was never here." Before flipping the visor down and running out the door. She exits the truck stop quickly, her landed gunship nearby. She enters it and the ship takes off. And just in time too. Within seconds, scores of heavily armored vehicles pull up outside the truck stop just as the sun pokes its head over the horizon.

Fury's Point Of View
"Sir, we have one survivor." My left hand, Maria Hill says as we watch the paramedics help the last agent standing out. This team was captured and tortured. "Sir she says someone recused her. Someone called The Grey Ghost."
"Who is that?" I groaned internally. Mr. Annoying I'm-A-Billionaire-and-you-aren't-and-thus-you-suck kept asking so many questions. "Stark I will tell you back at the Avengers tower. It's clear the rest of the agents didn't survive." I shake my head sadly. "Maria, pull them back, it's clear the rest of the base is dead." She nods and start speaking away on her earpiece. I walk up the ramp and sat on the outermost seat. The Grey Ghost...a new mystery. I took out a sweet and munched on it, pondering this new person. What intentions does he, or she, have? Will he or she be a threat to the world? Or an ally? I got back into my private helicopter and look back just as we lift off. I wonder again. Is this a new hero? Or a new villain taking other villains out first?
