Chapter 9
—Two Years after "The Decimation"—
After a few hours of sleeping, Tony woke up and approached the cockpit of Carol's ship. She was leaning on her chair, her feet up on the controls, and hands in the air.
"Seems like you're resting up quite well, Captain." Tony chuckled as he sat beside Carol.
"For someone who hasn't been on Earth for about 24 years." Carol said while her eyes were closed. She was really resting well, "I left Earth in 1995 and lived in a planet to rest for about... 22 years."
"You deserve a welcome party. Too bad not a lot of people on Earth remember you." Tony said, "I heard about you. I went through some S.H.I.E.L.D. files back in the day and they said you were their greatest soldier."
"Soldier." Carol chuckled at the thought, "Let's be clear, I never worked for Fury's army. I was there to end something that my birth place didn't deserve."
"They confirmed alien species in 1995. It's in the classified files of the CIA. I checked it in Korea." Tony smiled, "I bet you never visited that place."
"Didn't know it existed." Carol chuckled, "I really need to know my Earth geography."
"At least you know some Earth words. Not natural someone is taken from an alien species and learned from them." Tony smiled when Carol looked at him, "I read your file."
"Well, Coulson did his research very well."
"Coulson? As in the Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D?" Tony asked.
"Yeah. He was working with Fury at that time." Carol said. "If you believed it, Fury was supposed to retire before I came. Their was no reason to continue, until he found out about superohero beings."
"We belong to fairytales. We just went out of a comic book." Tony sighed, "A man in a suit of armor is the farthest I ever thought, until I found out Norse Gods and green-rage monsters existed."
"And you I am basically one of the strongest beings in the universe." Carol said and Tony scoffed, "You just haven't seen me yet."
"I'm quite excited." Tony chuckled.
A hologram appeared on front of them showing a model of the galaxy. It zoomed in on the sun and highlighted Earth.
"You will be arriving at your destination in 20 minutes. Hyper-Drive slowing down." The computer announced.
"Get ready." Carol said, "It's time to come home."
"I am not ready for this." Tony sighed and stood up, "Nebula! We're almost on Earth! Get your guns ready!"
—Avengers Headquarters—
Steve and Scott were sitting in the living room, playing some cards. Bruce and Rocket were still working on a device for time manipulation and Natasha and Clint were taking a walk outside.
While they were playing some cards, there was a knock outside the door. Steve and Scott stopped and looked at each other. They kept silent and placed their cards on the table. Steve slowly walked towards the door while Scott went to call Rocket. Steve checked through the glass door but only saw Thor standing along one of his friends. Steve opened the door and greeted them.
"Thor." Steve called, "Glad to see you back so quick. Along with some help."
"Indeed." Thor smiled and walked in, "This is my friend, Valkyrie. She is an Asgardian warrior. If you don't mind, the Asgardians settled in Oklahoma for now."
"No problem. We need all the help we need in fighting this war." Steve looked over to the lab, "So, Thor, how many warriors do you have?"
"That is why I'm here. I may need some help in finding some warriors." Thor explained, "You see, Thanos killed over half of my population and most of them are my warriors. I still have some warriors in Oklahoma but not enough to match what may be Thanos's army."
"And how are you planning to solve that?" Rocket asked, wiping his hands with tissue as he walked out the lab.
"I need the help of Bruce Banner." Thor said.
"The Hulk." Valkyrie happily said as he walked into the conversation.
"What are my services needed for?" Bruce asked.
"I need you to go with Valkyrie and I to Hel." Thor smiled.
"Hell." Bruce sarcastically chuckled, "Yeah, I'm not ready to go there yet."
"It isn't the Hell that you are talking. It's Hel, where all the fallen heroes in battle go to once they have been killed. I believe that most of my men are there."
"Well. No problem. We just go in there, swoop your people up and go, right?"
"It isn't that simple." Valkyrie said. "We might have to deal with Hela again."
"I think we should just leave this conversation." Steve suggested, bringing Rocket and Scott outside the facility.
Bruce was absolutely freaking out while Thor and Valkyrie tried their best to calm him down.
"I know it's crazy. We both know it is. But every small detail in our battle may lead to our victory." Valkyrie said. "We need the Asgardians. We don't know what Thanos May be bringing into battle but we do know he's going to try his best to win again."
"From what I'm hearing. I believe you have a plan." Bruce said.
"We're working on it... and the Asgardians are a part of it." Thor said but Bruce still wasn't convinced, "I'll tell everyone the plan once we get the Asgardians."
"But why do you need me?"
"Because Valkyrie and I only know how to fight and kick ass. Since the Hulk doesn't want to come out, you have been with us. We need your speech skills to persuade Hela to give us the warriors."
"Fine. But I need someone to handle my project with Rocket while I'm gone. I'm not leaving until someone works on it."
"I think you may have your team." Valkyrie pointed outside.
A large ship landed on the open field of the Avengers Headquarters. Clint raised his swords while Natasha raised her handguns at the landing pad as it landed. Valkyrie, Thor, and Bruce stood a little closer to the glass and watched the landing pad opened. A blue-bald alien walked out first and didn't bother Natasha and Clint. The pair lowered their weapons and started shaking their head. A woman dressed in a rubber suit coloured in red, blue, and gold stepped out second. Lastly, a man holding his armor's suit, Tony Stark walked out and looked at the Avengers Headquarters, smiling.
"The smug bastard." Bruce muttered.
—Unnamed Planet—
The storm was raging strong, making a walk outside seem impossible. There were thunderstorms appearing everywhere, destroying everything it could. The rain was flooding the grasslands, making the crops unable to be eaten.
But inside his shack was Thanos, sitting and thinking. The shack was able to withstand the strong winds of the storm. All he could do was stare at the gauntlet on the wall, with one side showing its glory and one side burnt from battle.
"You are quite the artifact." Thanos muttered, like he was talking to the gauntlet.
There was a workbench in his shack where he would make tools for farming. There was a large metal which he found mining into a mountain that he thought he could use. It was one of the strongest metals in the universe, Vibranium.
"It wouldn't hurt a little." Thanos thought, placing it on the workbench, "It's time I did something productive."
