Chapter 11

—Two Years after "The Decimation"—

Tony was checking on what Bruce had been making for a few months. Bruce had used most of the resources that was available inside the facility. He throughly checked the machine and there were a lot of problems with it.

"So, did Bruce use all the resources for this or just most of it?" Tony asked.

"Most of it." Natasha answered. "Why?"

"Because..." Tony pulled a chip from inside the machine, "this machine is shit. We use this for time travel and we'll just get our bodies ripped apart. Might as well build a new one."

"As long as we can get to the right time." Natasha sighed, giving Tony a wrench. "What are you planning now?"

"Remember B.A.R.F? The thing I showed you like four years ago? We can use that along with the Quantum Realm." Tony started removing the parts of the machine.

"And how do you know that?"

"I went to MIT, Romanoff. I know my shit." Tony chuckled.

"And do you think your MIT skills will help you solve the disappearance of half of the universe?" Natasha joked.

"I hope to God it does." Tony said. "So, what's been going on since I left Earth?"

"First of all we lost against Thanos. Scott came back to us. Thor went back to find the Asgardians. Bruce started working on that." Natasha finished. "That's about it."

"You seemed like there wasn't a lot going on. You should ask me what I've been up to for the past few years."

"What were you doing?"

"Living in a spaceship in the middle of space doing absolutely dog shit." Tony laughed it off. "I was living the time of my life, Romanoff."

"Oh, I bet you were, Stark. Eating god knows what was in that spaceship."

"Alien liver." Tony said and Natasha seemed disgusted, "I have to admit, that did taste good."

"Really?" Natasha sarcastically asked, "You should get me some the next time you go to space."

"Oh I promise you dear, I will not be going to space any time soon. That place is a nightmare."

"I remember you ranting to me a couple of years ago that you would love going to space."

"That was years ago. Good thing I experienced it already."

"Yeah. For two years you experienced the whole space tour." Natasha joked.

"And it was quite the bore." Tony removed another chip from the machine, "This costs a lot and Bruce is using it like its recyclable."

"We didn't know that costed a fortune. You're usually the one who is buying all the stuff for us. We just use it."

"Can't judge you with that." Tony said.

The back door opened and Tony and Natasha stopped talking. Tony placed the wrench on the table and exited the lab. Steve was the first one to catch Tony's eyes. He was followed by Rocket, Scott, and Carol. Natasha exited the lab and instantly felt the rivalry back to full motion once Tony and Steve's eyes met.

"I don't want any damage, Tony." Steve said.

"I think you lost the privileges to call me Tony. What the hell were you thinking in Sokovia, man?" Tony frustratingly asked.

"You think I didn't want to talk about what happened in 1991?"

"Don't you dare talk to me about what happened in 1991! You don't have a damn say!" Tony shouted.

"I have a say, Stark. Bucky is my friend."

"Bucky, Bucky, Bucky..." Tony repeated, "It's about him, huh? Is that why you didn't want me to kill him?"

"I didn't want you to kill him because that's not you. You want to see on the front papers, 'Tony Stark kills WWII veteran?" Steve asked.

"I'd happily see that on the front papers if that meant he would die."

"Did space change your mind, Stark? I think it made you more insane."

"Or more aware, Rogers. I ain't the only one who stopped trusting others." Tony argued. "I don't believe those who think they are always better."

"So this is a popularity contest now? Well you are clearly holding the title." Steve said. "You're still in the newspaper, Stark. I hope your happy with that."

"Enough!" Carol shouted with both her fists glowing, "Would both of you just shut the hell up?"

"Who said you're part of the team?" Steve asked.

"Nick Fury. He told me the both of you were jackasses." Carol said.

"Carol? Is that you? You were so nice to me when we were on your ship." Tony said. "Did someone abduct you?"

"Because I was trying not to believe you were a jackass. But you're one after all so..." Carol waved her hands in the air, "what can I do?"

"Tell me why I should listen to you than argue with him?" Steve pointed at Tony.

"Because I was a soldier like you, Rogers. I hope you remember that they trained not only discipline in camp, but also some trust." Carol glanced at Tony and looked at Steve, "It just doesn't seem like you're displaying it right now."

Steve stood there speechless. Carol was smiling at Tony while everybody else couldn't speak.

"See, Stark?" Carol said looking at Tony, "That is how you go back and forth."

—Hel—

In the depths of Hel, the three adventurers were traveling through hot lava and molds. Bruce was getting uncomfortable with the attire he was wearing. Thor and Valkyrie seemed as if they've been walking around in Hel since they were children.

"Are we almost at the end? My shirt is killing me right now." Bruce said.

"Then take it off." Thor chuckled, "It's about time you showed us what you're made of."

"Yeah, Hulk." Valkyrie said.

"It's actually Banner. Bruce Banner." He smiles when he said that.

"I wasn't asking." Valkyrie smiled back which resulted in Bruce frowning.

"We're almost there, friends. I could see the Cathedral where they store all the brave and fierce warriors."

"Then why are they in Hel?" Bruce asked.

"Because they are all the most ruthless bastards you'll ever meet." Thor said.

"Big fan?"

"Since birth." Thor answered.

When they went deeper, they reached the Cathedral which was the last landmark you'll find in Hel. Thor, Valkyrie, and Bruce climbed to the top to get an overhead look of the place. The place was lit up by lava but there were miles and miles of tombs located there. It was every soul that died during battle.

Thor was looking for the person who has been preserving Hel for centuries. All he could see was piles of tombstones everywhere he looked.

"Have you seen the watcher of the Cathedral, Valkyrie?" Thor asked.

"Are you looking for me, darling?" A person behind them asked.

When Thor looked back, there was this giant pillar that had formed. At the top of the pillar was Hela.

"The old bastard is still alive." Thor muttered.
