Chapter 33: No Worries

—Wakanda—

Clint sighed as he walked by Shuri's side. She was almost done with his suit. The suit was like Killmonger's suit, accessible at all times. His bow and arrow were finished, it was retractable and could be turned into knives. It was what Clint wanted.

With his time out of the Avengers, he regretted tracking down the killer of his family. He spent days without sleep and killed numerous people just to get a location. He traveled the entire U.S. and still didn't find him. Now he regretted doing all of that.

"The suit looks nice, may I have one?" Thor asked Shuri.

"You aren't here for clothes," Shuri scoffed and rolled her kimoyo bead to the center of her hand, "It is getting scanned. It is almost finished."

"Great to hear." Clint said.

"I hope you will do great on the battlefield, Clint." Thor said, smiling at him while resting his palm on his shoulder.

"You hope?" Clint chuckled, "Looks like you're placing a lot of hope, buddy."

"No, I mean the hope that you will help us take down Thanos and not... just be there." Thor tried to explain it easily, "If you know what I mean."

"So you're saying I should get up close with Thanos." Clint walked to Thor and they were practically facing each other, "Like this?"

"Not like this you fool."

"But you said up close and personal. You don't like it?" Clint chuckled and walked back to Shuri, "I'll get that hammer someday."

"I'm not sure if you two are friends or people who have just met." Shuri said with disgust.

"I'm sure you mean 'best friends'. Right, Barton?" Thor looked at him.

"Are we though?" Clint asked and then laughed, "I'm just playing with you."

"That sounds disgusting but I'll take it." Thor walked outside to take a look at Wakanda's sunset.

While Thor was outside, Clint and Shuri got some time to talk to each other and bond. It was interesting talking to a queen of a country like Wakanda. It was so advanced that it made America look normal. All the weapons and the healing mechanisms. Wakanda was amazing.

—Harlem—

Bruce was following Jessica and Matt around the place he destroyed a couple of years ago. He knew Tony would watch it while he was gone. It was so peaceful now without the people around after the 'Great Disappearance'. But it was also losing its greatest defender, Luke Cage. But Bruce guessed he was going to be the defender for now. Or better, the Hulk will be the defender now.

"How often do you visit?" Bruce asked the both of them while they were enjoying the peaceful streets.

"Probably twice a week," said Matt, who took a glance at Bruce, "Or when Luke needs our help."

"You know, this universe just got bigger. We thought that we were the only ones who were... special." Bruce explained.

"I don't like that word." Jessica pointed out.

"What word? Universe?"

"Special, dummy. I kind of don't like that word special." Jessica dipped her hands inside her jacket, "It makes me feel weird."

"Anyways, we thought that Captain America and the Hulk were the only supers this world has. Then came along the 'Mad Experiment' which sent four people to another planet and came back as the Fantastic Four. And then the incident in the Statue of Liberty with the X-Men. And then came Thor, the Avengers and-"

"We get the point, Mr. Banner. We aren't alone." Matt cut him off and whispered to Jessica, "This guy is really a scientist."

"No joke, Murdock." Jessica scoffed, as they arrived at Luke's apartment, "Well, better check on the girlfriend to see if she's alive."

The three of them walked up to Luke's door and knocked. They patiently waited. Bruce was eager to meet Claire. If she was even in there. After a few moments of waiting, Claire slowly opened the door and let them in.

"Everyone's jobs are at hold, people won't even go out of their apartment and-" Claire looked at Bruce, "Who are you?"

"He's Bruce Banner. He came to join us." Matt stopped the confusion. That's one of the things Jessica loved about Matt. Always there to bail anyone out.

"Bruce Banner?" Claire repeated his name, "You're the one who wrecked Harlem into pieces."

"Not exactly Bruce Banner." Bruce placed his glasses down, "It was the Hulk who did it."

"You know that's basically you, right?" Jessica pointed out and Bruce looked at him in shame. Matt chuckled at this, "Did I ruin your moment?"

Suddenly Matt took his attention to the TV that was playing in the background. He didn't focus on their conversation because what was going on in the TV was far more important than that. It was about the Avengers. Japan. Same aliens from the Battle of New York. After the Avengers left Japan, the aliens followed. And then nobody saw the Avengers. That should get Bruce worried.

"Um... Banner? You might want to call Steve Rogers for that." Matt pointed at the TV which was displaying the Avengers logo with a big question mark over it. "It's about the Avengers."

"What the hell happened now." Bruce exhaled.

"After the attack on Japan, the Avengers have appeared to flee the scene. Also leaving are the aliens who supposedly attacked New York a few years ago. This is coming a few days after the 'Great Disappearance'." The reporter said

"I'm calling Nat." Bruce said, grabbing his flip phone out of his pocket. It was ringing a few times but he soon heard Natasha's name, "Are you guys alright?"

"Thanos took a shot at the Soul Stone." Natasha explained while breathing heavily, "We're hiding out in Russia, inside one of S.H.I.E.L.D's hideouts."

"Great to hear that you guys are still alive." Bruce happily said.

"But you're not going to be happy to hear this. Since Thanos didn't get the Soul Stone here, he's probably going to go for the Time Stone. God knows where Thor is so he'll be getting the Time Stone. Tell Tony."

"I sense something..." Matt interrupted the conversation, "I can feel it in Brooklyn. The X-Men are on the scene."
