Avenger out! Bye!

     Tony's P.O.V.
What the hell was that?! I mean, yes...of course I have some very, very minor chest pains once in a while. Once in a while! Not like that. Something wasn't right, it wasn't normal to have something so painful happen so suddenly. And because Steve was on high alerts, like always, he stormed into the training area with a worried expression written on his face.

"Tony! You okay?" Steve asked rapidly approaching to help me onto my feet "I heard you yelling as I was walking by to see if you wanted to train together...what happened?"

Awe shit...I need an excuse. "I uh.." Come on! I need something! "Well...I made some tweaks earlier to my suit and wanted to test it. Some...uh...some pieces of the armour jammed and I had to get out to fix it but a stray blast from the training bot hit me. I forgot to turn all trainers off." Great save.

"Okay...just be sure not to die in the next training session, we still need a Stark and Ironman in this world, especially a team leader, but mainly your tech." Cap joked.

"Well then...I see how it is." I made a hurt expression appear on my face continuing his joke. It was worth the while, 'cause ya know...Cap never jokes, well, hardly ever.

. . .

After our little chat, I went to my room trying do decipher, in my head, what the hell happened in the training area. The first idea that popped in my head was to take an X-ray. I got up off my bed and scurried down to my lab. I grabbed the X-ray machine and placed myself on the metal bed like structure. I took the X-ray of my chest and when they finally came through, everything seemed to be looking fine. I then decided to do a scan of my arc reactor to see if maybe there is a malfunction. I looked at the scan and saw something disappear from the image. I suppose it was a vision error.

After that long hour or so, I became famished. It had been awhile since I last ate and I supposes a quick snack couldn't kill me nor my appetite for dinner. Except, the instant I had left my lab, a horrendous cough made its way through my mouth and I fell to my knees, the pain in my chest had started again and it was unbearable. I quickly reentered my lab in case someone were to find me in the hall. I held in the screams trying to escape my lips and I soon found myself being engulfed in darkness.

. . .

I woke up in a puddle of sweat on my bed. Wait! My bed! How did I get here? I pushed myself in to a sitting position but a hand held me back. I looked to my left and found Cap in his pyjamas; dark blue plaid pants and a sky blue shirt. I went back to lying in my back with a groan from the pain that was still remaining in my chest.

"How did I get here?" I grumbled.

"I was getting myself some supper and I had noticed that you were the only one of us who hasn't come up to eat. I asked the others if they knew of your whereabouts, but no one had a clue. I thought that you would either be in your room, or your lab. Guess where I found you?" Cap asked.

"Uh...my lab?" I answered uncertainly.

"Yes, and you were completely knocked out. Care to elaborate on the situation that brought you to that state?" He demanded.

"I guess since there is nothing that goes by you undetected." I started "Anyway, ever since our encounter with Modoc I have been experiencing some chest pains. Not the regular kind though, these once are completely and utterly painful. It was something I had never experience before and I do not look forward to the next one that comes." I explained.

"Do you know what it could be?" He questioned.

"No idea. I did an X-ray and a scan of my arc reactor and saw nothing." I responded.

"Hmmm...I guess we'll have to put our heads together to come up with a hypothesis." Cap stated.

"Ya, I guess. Just...don't tell anyone else about this. I prefer to keep this on a download, okay?" I asked.

"Yes, Tony. I will." He answered.
