"Come on then" he grabbed your hand pulling you up and leading you downstairs towards the kitchen.
"Love you Denise" he said, halfway down the stairs, kissing you lightly.
"Love you too Buck" you replied, kissing him again.

You and Bucky have now been dating for almost a year and the both of you could not be happier. You've helped him through so much and he has you. His nightmares have decreased since the first night he spent at the tower and he says it because you're there to comfort him and that you're all he needs to feel safe, just you laying in his arms, snuggled up to him, telling him that you love him sends him into a peaceful (almost) sleep. But then it happened, he snapped.

The Winter Solider snapped back into action.

It was Thursday night. You and Bucky had had a relaxing night. All week, Monday to Thursday, he had been fine. Nothing had happened and you were proud of him. Very proud. But then, as you two lay in bed at 11 'o clock, he had fallen asleep minutes before then and you were only nodding off when it struck.

Bucky began shaking viciously. Arms and legs flying all about the place. He had accidentally knocked you off the bed, lading with a bump, but he didn't realise. Then came the screaming. It was the same as when he had been brainwashed by HYDRA except it was louder. Then quieter, then loud once again. That continued for a few minutes and then he was quiet. You couldn't believe he hadn't woken the super soldier or the other Avengers with all the noise, but you guess you'll never know. Then, you thought it was all over but you were wrong. Very wrong.

You hadn't got back into bed until you were sure it was safe. And it was a good job you did. Just as you were about to go back into bed he shot straight up. His eyes black and dead, like they were when he worked for HYDRA. It scared you deeply.

"Bucky?" You whispered. He head snapped in your direction. His eyes still black. He slowly got out of your shared bed, walking over to you in the corner. He got faster with each step, scaring you more.

"Bucky!" You said louder then last.

"BUCKY!" Now that shocked him. He stop right in front of you, left and metal arm raised. His eyes were back to the sky blue you fell in love with. 'Scared' was written all over your face and he knew that. He lowered his arm while walking away slowly.

"I'm sorry," he muttered quietly, "I'm so, so sorry. I'm a monster!"

"No, no Bucky, no you're not. You just had a bad dream that's all" you were both sat on the bed now, he was crying into your shoulder, but hesitantly because he wasn't sure whether or not he would hurt you.

"Yes I am Denise. Don't you see, I could hurt you at any moment"

"I know you can, but I stay with you and help you because I love you. And I know you love me too much to even think about hurting me"

"That's true, I do love you, but I can still hurt you. And very badly"

"You won't though, I know you won't" then after that, neither of you spoke, just sat there embracing each other.

Hours past and you two were still there. For the past few hours, you had just sat there and talked, hugged and shared the occasional kiss. But for you that was enough. A night awake, in the arms of the man you love was all you needed. You hadn't done an all-nighter in a while so you were glad to be sharing it with Bucky.

Beep beep. Beep beep. Your alarm went off.

6:00. It read.

"Bucky," you shook him, "Buck, come on. Wake up mister" you tried whilst kissing his face lightly.

"Okay, okay. I'm up, happy?" You had realised he had fallen asleep until you had checked the alarm, and even though he was asleep doesn't mean you weren't.

"Time to go to work"

"Another day saving lives with the girl I love" he kissed you passionately before getting up and dressed.

"Love you to, Buck" you smiled. Ahh, life was perfect.
