Want You Back Pt. 2

Steve:

He taught you that men who didn't respect women weren't men at all. They were cowards. You pulled your hair back into a ponytail and watched as your dad set off jogging down the pavement. It was an unspoken challenge to see if you could catch up with him and you always took it on. Steve was a bit relieved that you hadn't taken the breakup very hard because he hated seeing you in so much pain. Your dad had been great in handling your mood swings and you thought that any woman would be lucky to have him. If they, of course, earned your approval. You began to jog down the sidewalk, the sun breaking a little over the horizon and casting long shadows over the streets. He had gotten a bit further than you'd like and you were about to speed up when you almost tripped over your feet as someone yanked you to the side.
You came face to face with your ex as he grinned nervously at you. In shock, you didn't know whether or not to punch him or keep on running.

"I had to talk to you and I know you run down here every morning. Just please, listen to me."

You opened your mouth to give him a nice choice of curse words when a huge shadow loomed over you, making his eyes widen in fright.

"I'm listening. I wanna know what you have to say after breaking up with my daughter."

His face turned a pale white and he stuttered incomprehensibly before running off, the metaphorical tail between his legs.

"Rude. I wanted to know, too."

Steve chuckled and ruffled your hair before taking your hand in his and walking you all the way down to the harbor to watch the sun rise.

Thor:

You hadn't expected to find him in the palace gardens. Studying royal politics had given you a raging headache, so you decided to take a break and go for a walk to enjoy the sweet scents and perfumes that lingered in the fresh air. Maintaining to keep yourself in emotional check had taken a bit of a toll on you, but you got through it with your father and your uncle by your side. You hadn't spoken to him since and when you saw him sitting in the deep depths of the garden reading a book, you didn't know what to do. While you were struggling with yourself, he looked up and, with a smile, beckoned you over. Figuring that it couldn't hurt, you took a seat next to him on the little stone bench, immediately delving into conversation with him. You realized that you missed talking to him and this was just a reminder of how much heartache you had suffered in his absence. After drifting off into silence, you glanced at him out of the corner of your eye, surprised to see a faint, pink blush in his cheeks that only deepened as you turned your full attention on him.

"I realized I have made a mistake on turning you away and I do hope that we can have what we did before?"

You looked away, startled by his sudden speech.

"I'm...afraid I can't. Even I wanted to. I truly am sorry."

Getting to your feet, you gave him a slight nod of your head and walked back to the palace, your heart light. The experience had opened your eyes to the fact that you bestowed your attention too often on your studies and obligations, never taking time for yourself, which you gladly began to do from then on.

Bruce:

You were seething, but nobody noticed by the way you walked around with a happy smile on your face. Your teacher had put you on the list for the science convention and it wouldn't have been a big deal if this wasn't the fifth one you were being forced to attend. You knew your ex boyfriend was going to be there because he was at the previous conventions as well, but you were always able to avoid him. He was always trying to approach you, but you would turn and busy yourself in a conversation with anyone standing near you. Unfortunately, you had gotten stuck listening to the head of the science department for ages once and you really had to watch who you tried to strike up a fake conversation with. Walking around the booths, you stopped at a random one to inspect it, horror dawning on you as you realized who was sitting behind it. Scribbling a bunch of nothing on your clipboard, you tried to make a hasty escape, but he ran around his booth to stop you.

"Hey, you've been avoiding me, haven't you?"
"I don't—"
"I wanted to ask you if you..well, wanted to try again. The whole relationship thing."

The way he said it made it seem so casual as if a relationship wasn't anything important, just something that everyone did because it was fun. You cautiously stepped back, not wanting to get violent and shook your head. That would be the only answer you thought was worth giving him as you turned to walk away. Knowing he was watching you leave, you shot him the finger over your shoulder.

Pietro:

You cursed under your breath as your belongings scattered all over the floor, a result of tripping over your own two feet. Your dad laughed and shook his head before pushing the door of the coffee shop open and going to wait for you outside. You cursed him out too, for being so inconsiderate. As you gathered your stuff together, a hand shot out and picked up your notebook. You straightened and looked up to give them a grateful smile when your heart literally stopped. The guy you had cried yourself to sleep over for a little more than two months, was standing in front of you with a sheepish smile as though he hadn't broken your heart. You silently took your notebook and stuffed it in your bag, going to walk around him, but he stepped in your path.

"I wanted to talk to you. I really—"
You tried to go the other way, really not in the mood for his bullshit, when he blocked you again, this time holding you in place by your shoulders.

"Let go of me."
"Please, I have to say what I've been—"
Your dad suddenly appeared right next to the both of you and was giving him a purely evil look. You were impressed he was actually holding it out.

"No, don't mind me. You were saying?"
The boy grumbled under his breath and your dad swept an arm over your shoulder, pulling you towards the door. He shot him one more glare before the both of you left, then turned to you with a smirk.

"Scary, no?"
"Nope."

Loki:

You were at the shore again. No matter what happened in your life, whether good or bad, the ocean was a constant and this time, you were at peace with yourself. Something you haven't felt in a long time. You tensed at the feeling of someone's presence behind you and you whirled around. The boy held up his hands with wide eyes and you glared at him, angry that he had come to look for you in the one place you found security. He took a step forward and you summoned water stalactites to warn him.

"I only wish to speak with you."
"I have no desire to do such a thing. I'd leave if I were you."

You waited for him to turn and walk away, but he didn't, coming closer to you. Quick as a whip, you surrounded him in a ring of churning water. Rage built in your chest and you wanted nothing more than to wipe him off of Asgard, but where would that lead to? You faced the ocean, seeking the feeling of peace and solitude and ignoring his pleadings to listen to him, that he truly did love you and would do anything to prove him worthy of your love. It was overwhelming, too much to handle for your fragile heart. You turned in a moment of weakness and, right as you were about to destroy him, your father appeared in front of you, grabbing ahold of your wrists and gently pushing them to your sides.
He flicked his hand towards the boy and the ring of water disappeared, leaving him to escape from your barely restrained anger.

"It is not worth it, my child. Leave him."

You nodded and let your father wrap you in his arms, holding you close as tears slid down your cheeks. It was you, your father and the ocean and although you had overcome your murderous rage, never before have you felt more at peace.
